2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Hi all.

Are there any dressy night on the 4 day? Can you wear shorts in the dining room? have only done the 7 day. This is going to be an easy packing trip with two days at the beach and one sea day. I guess we will need nice clothes for Palo. Has any one decided what night they are going for? Is any one doing the eco tour? We did it once and I was so terrified I didn't enjoy it. I wonder if I went again it would be any better.

have a great Wednesday.

Today marks 99 days till Vacation I can't wait.... I wish DVC would give a bit more info

I think on a regular 4 night cruise they designate one night as "dress-up" (but not formal) night. That is usually the night of the Golden Mickeys. However last year that was also our Pirate Night on the Member Cruise so I don't remember having a true dress up night. Yes for Palo you will want nicer clothes. A sundress or capris/ dockers & polo shirt for brunch and a dress or nice pant suit/slacks, button down shirt (with or without a tie/jacket) for dinner. No shorts in the dining rooms for dinner (though some wear them on pirate night with a tropical or pirate themed shirt.

Too funny about the eco tour. I did it once as well and wasn't very good. I was always the slowest. I still had a great time and we may do it again. Have to figure that out soon.

Door signs are always fun and it is great to be able to go down the halls and see them. Especially when it is ones from your fellow DISers. DVC must think so too. On the 2005 cruise they had door magnets on every room (the ones they now use on all the cruises to show who is a DVC member). Last year one of our gifts was a small whiteboard with DVC cut-outs on every door. Great for leaving notes to others.

Well, I may be arriving late to this thread, but DW and I will be on board for the 2007 Member's Cruise. This is our first Member's cruise and ninth (9th!) DCL cruise (three four-days, two easterns, one western, a ten-day southern and a west coast). Also, the first one since our first one where we don't have friends tagging along.

Really looking forward to what "surprises" are in store and whether or not there will be an incredible mad rush to on-line Palo and spa reservations on July 23!

Welcome aboard! Check out the first post to find out about sending in your info for the web page to be included in the buttons we're doing and the navigator Linda is doing. Still plenty of time to get to know everyone!

Hey if anyone is interested there is a 6.5k and 13k walk/run at MGM on Saturday October 26. There is a private during and after race party at MGM for your guests that aren't doing the race. You can register at the Wide World of Sports website. Amanda and I are doing the 6.5k. They let you have 2.5 hours to complete it. Finishers receive a special tower medal. We are very excited to do it. :cheer2:

That sounds like fun - BUT

I"ll be on the Wonder with a B2B - still having fun cruisin'

How great is that? I am so jealous. My company is having a contest and the winners go on a cruise out of Ft Lauderdale the week before the member cruise. I could be ok with 2 weeks of paid vacation.:cheer2:

now what is going to happen if you win that contest - :thumbsup2

you can't give up the member cruise. BUT then again, a free cruise is better than having to pay for one. :yay:

The port is about 10 minutes at the most from me. I could go and wave as you go out to sea.

I get to do both. The contest trip starts on 10/13 and end on 10/19, which happens to be the same day we start our Disney vacation. We get paid for most of the time we are on the trip for the contest. I won a contest that took us to LA in May and only had to use 1 day of vacation time, only because we extended our stay so that we could see the sights of LA and Disneyland. It would be great to win another contest, so if you have friends in Lansing MI and they need appliances, send them to Best Buy. I will more than happy to help them help me

Sounds like fun. I know one of our friends from some previous cruises and his son are doing it. Unfortunately we'll already be on our way home. We are heading to Hilton Head after the cruise and then on to NC and TN before heading home. Have fun!

I don't want to sound stupid, but how far is that? I am a walker. We have Universal planned for thst day, but if it's early in the am I could swing it while every one else is sleeping.

I walk every morning while on board- around 6am. Any takers???? I didn't have any on my cruise last year, a few folks said they would, but no one got up. I try to keep walking to I can eat all theose dessetrs and drink all those wonderful frozen drinks without gaining 20 lbs!!!!

No question is a stupid question - silly girl------------

How far is the Port?? I was talking about Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale.

Is that what you meant??

I would love to walk with you, but not sure I will be up to that much walking yet. I am just now getting used to walking my pet around my neighborhood each night now. That is a milestone for me. It has only taken me 3 years to try and do that again.

6.5K = 4.04 miles

I try and walk every morning when I'm on board. Last year I only made it one time but a group of us walked around deck 10. When I'm alone I usually do deck 4. So I might meet up with you.
