Hi

Thank you for the link. Does it really save you money? It would be good to have however not sure if it works out more than what we would spend. I would need to look into it.

Has anyone else used it and does it save you money?

I think it all depends on how and where you like eating while in WDW. It gives you the chance to try out new restaurants and to have a fixed budget for all your meals.

We looked at the plan and to be honest it's just too much food for us! I don't think we would be able to manage a counter service and a 3 course table service meal everyday! It works out more than what we would normally spend on food in WDW.
We also didn't like the fact that it restricts where you go each day and at what time to get to your ADR reservations.

Hi

My lo would love the breakfasts and liberty tree I dont think we would use table service all the time. I can see your point. Does anyone know where you can get prices from. Dreams offer tickets and dine plan as well.

ahh Ive stopped panicking now, I wouldnt eat at the deleted ones anyhow.

I cant wait to try the dining plan, Ive booked it for us for two weeks and for my folks for two weeks, granted we may not use all the credits but we will make a good go of it

We have used the DDP plan twice and used the DDE card also.

We perfer using the DDP, then everything is paid up front.

We use all the TS credit and the CS credit, and maybe leave 3-7 snack credits behind, that's only because we get the refillable cup from the resort.

Thanks for all that info Tim :thumbsup2 The ddp does sound like a great plan and possibly a money saver but doubt I would ever use it. We spend alot of time at non Disney parks and like to eat on I-Drive & US192 aswell so I think this would restrict us a little bit too much. Maybe one day though :)

Hi,
There are rumours on the dining board that some of the "deleted" locations may in fact be reinstated. I find it odd that the Coronado Springs Resort has no locations which is a pity as The Pepper Market was a great value counter service. Also Downtown Disney which is advertised as a "dining area" has only one location. I think they put the price up a $1 next year too.

Mick.

Hi Tim :)

The price for 2007 will be an extra dollar for age 10+ - so $38.99 per night.

It may well be that as non-Disney owned restaurants negotiate with Disney that more restaurants will be added to the list - when the package was first unveiled, several additions were made to the original list.... let's hope that happens again!

Do you have to buy into the Dining Plan for every night you have a hotel room or can you buy fewer days than your stay? Going to Disney restaurants everyday seems like overkill to me ...

Also, do you have to use the plan on particular days or can you use it when ever you want?

It seems like a lot of money to pay in advance when you don't know whether you'll feel like going to a restaurant meal on a day in the future.

You have to buy the dining plan for every night you are staying at a resort. you get vouchers equal to 1x counter service meal, 1x snack and 1x table service meal (3 courses). It's up to you how and when you use these vouchers. They are not transferable and must be used during your stay.
Some special meals or more expensive restaurants require 2x vouchers.

As I said earlier - it's a lot of food for a 14 day stay and does tie you into eating onsite (if you want to get your monies worth) and making ADRs that will restrict when and where you need to be each day. But lots of people like the plan and the way that almost all their meals are pre-paid.

If you don't want to eat table service everyday I think the DDE card is a better option (especially combined with an the AP resort discount).

Thanks Tim :thumbsup2

To me, the DDP sounds a bit restrictive in that seeing as you've paid for meals onsite up front you wouldn't want to try elsewhere. At least, not without that nagging feeling that you're losing money.

im a great fan of the dining plan :thumbsup2 for us it gave us a chance to eat in some fantastic places that we otherwise wouldnt have chosen :)

That's my only concerns too.. The amount of food and how restricted you might be. I was all for it recently but now i'm not so sure. Still need to check the figures.

I can't wait to do the DDP next year. For us the dining in the TS restaurants was one of the highlights of the holiday and i am happy to plan to eat somewhere everyday. However we are planning on 18 nights with the plan and i will use some of the TS credits for breakfasts and lunches so in reality there will be a few nights when we are free to do what we want and eat offsite if we so wish. Out of 18 days i plan on doing 3 brekfasts and 2 lunches and perhaps one signature meal so we will have 12 evening meals to use and 6 nights when we can just grab a counter service or have a day out at seaworld etc. I could actually manage the 3 TS availble on the premuim plan with no problem ;)
