In my never ending search to find the perfect dates for our Disneyland trips next year, I thought one thread with school breaks in the surrounding areas would be helpful to all. :thumbsup2 Heck, if I get ambitious I may put it into some sort of spread sheet and post the results.:rolleyes1

So if you live in an area that the school breaks influence DL attendance, post them here. I'd post mine, but we're in Hawaii and I'm not sure if that really has an impact.

That sneaky week off in Feb. thing threw me for a loop when we went this year. I took my kiddos out of school, thinking the parks would be empty. Wrong! I never even heard of the "ski week" many schools now get.

Happy planning!!!:cool1:

I too would love to see these dates! We live outside of Chicago, so I'm guessing our dates won't matter much to So. CA. :)

Presidents day week: many many schools have off,
Spring Break: March - April
October: OC schools have first 2 weeks off
December-January:About the 14th-First week of Januray

I have tracked the crowd level for about a year now. It does follow a pattern. I did it by hand so I can't post it. Maybe I can figure out a way to do that.

There really doesn't seem to be a consensus within the state of CA as to when vacations are. Even here in the San Francisco Bay Area, it varies widely from town to town.

We have the entire week of Thanksgiving off this year, and Christmas Break is Dec 23-Jan 4. Spring Break for us is always the week immediately following Easter. (March 24-28)

School starts August 27 and ends June 12.

We don't have any other big vacations, just the usual 3-day weekends (Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day and Memorial Day) and a few teacher work-days.

Hope that helps!

Oregon school have the week after Easter off next year for spring break (March 22 - 30). I believe that Washington schools have the week after this off. DL is a very popular destination for Oregon and Wash families during spring break. Since Easter falls on March 23rd, and California school also have the week after Easter off, sounds like it will be incredibly crowded that week.
We actually are going to WDW that week - and expect it to probably be just as crowded.

I'm sure the school breaks here in the Phoenix area make at least a small impact since we are a 5-6 hour drive or an hour long flight away . There are a lot of districts though and I can only speak for ours (Tempe). My kid goes back on Aug 6.

Scheduled breaks are pretty much always the same....

2nd week in October is fall break
Thanksgiving and the day after
Week of Christmas and first week of January
2nd week of March is Spring break

....and school will end around May 22-26. I don't have a 2008 calendar handy to give an exact date.
