DD11 is trying out for her middle school team tomorrow. DD9 is trying out for a new all-star team in town on Saturday after a year off for tumbling. Keep your fingers crossed for both of them.

Congratulations to your DD!!! Way to go!!

Stephanie is hanging tough. The MRI showed NO COMPLETE TEARS!!! The good news. But evidence of healing shredding type tears! It shows some inflammation in 4 areas of ligaments/tendons. She had a tough night at practice the other night. She was having difficulty pulling her overstretch back up. She said it put pressure on her ankle. She is working to regain the strenght so she will have a better practice tomorrow night. She is determined to not let the team down. I feel bad for her. Injuries are the pits!!

I am trying to be there by 8:30 on Sunday, what team is your dd on?? I will try and go watch her!! I am short and blonde and will have on a white polo that says Gemz all-stars on one side and my name on the other.
I will be backstage with my Youth one team.

AHHHHH!!! I got your message too late...we're back home LOL! I was looking around for you although I had no idea what you looked like LOL! I was SO impressed with all the Gemz teams!!!! How did they all make out?

My daughter is on Sparks mini 2....they wear the sailor uniforms They had an amazing weekend! 1st place and Grand Champs! The announcer made a huge deal out of them at awards talking about what a huge score they had. I still don't know what their actual score was....waaaaahhhh!!!! She was pretty happy strutting around the airport in her jacket this morning though!!!

All in all Sparks had a great weekend:

Mini 1 1st
Mini 2 1st and grand champs
Youth 2 1st and grand champs
Junior 1 1st
Junior 4 1st (I think grand champs but not sure!)
Senior 2 2nd
Senrior 3 4th They looked great on Sat and were in 1st but didn't connect their pyramid on day 2 and had a tumbling touch down.

We're off to Springfield for WSF on Friday...what a whirlwind!!!!

was anyone here in Myrtle Beach this weekend?

I was in Myrtle Beach with my younger daughter for a dance competition. we were in Damon's for dinner and I met some cute, very young (about 7 or 8 years old) cheerleaders in the ladies' room. since my older dd is a cheelreader I speak the language... hope they did well.


my dancer did very well --1st place in lyrical, 1st in hip hop and 3rd in jazz on saturday, then 2ned in lyrical, 2nd in jazz and 3rd in hip hop on sunday.

so how do you deal with it when one daughter's team does phenominally well at competition and the other daughter's team doesn't do nearly as well?

Hey Rosemary what time is your daughter on on Sunday? Ry's team isn't on until 1:00 so maybe you can catch em I think this is the latest we've gone on and it'll be so nice! I will probably head over in the morning anyway to watch Mini 1 and Tiny. We're staying at the Marriot.

Hi Brenda.............sorry I missed you!! Stephanie did not have to be there until 3:30 on Saturday and 5:30 on Sunday. She was the last team to go on Sunday (or close to it!!).

I was able to catch Sparks Senior 3!!! AMAZING and congratulations to them on the National Champ, Choreography award and Grand Champ in Level 3!! It was well deserved.

Stephanie's team had 2 falls day 1 and some touch downs. Day 2 all stunts were up but last tumbling pass (#1 tumbler) busted. I guess he had been vomitting all weekend!!

Steph did well. This was her first time back since December!! She stunted and did jumps, a standing back tuck, motions and the dance. She 'faked' the jumps to tuck!!! LOL!! She said that wwas the most stressful of all for her!!! She has never had to 'fake' the tuck after jumps and she said her timing was off!!

She is doing well. They are doing the Graston technique on her ankle to break up the scar tissue to give her more movement and make the ankle not so stiff!! She is crossing her fingers in that she will be performing fully in the routine. She has already figured the double full is out but the single full should be in for Worlds!!! She is afraid to push it with the double full in case she lands a little crooked on the ankle!! It has been a long haul and the worst injury she has ever had in cheering..........hopefully the last!!!

She is excited about Worlds...........loves her team and the gym...........is happy and for the first time in her cheer career..............looking forward to next year!!! Usually by this time, she is hemming and hawing about having to tryout again for the next year and the thought of starting over is daunting to her. She is super excited this year!! Makes me happy!!!

Brenda............are you going to Jamfest in Springfield either next week or the week after??? Not sure if we are.

Hope Gemz, Tumblebeez and all my other favorite teams are finishing up their seasons with a WIN!!!!
