20060902--Eastern Sept 2nd, 2006

Everybody is so kind about being willing to get the wines! This group is going to earn all kinds of kudos from the crew as the best ever! Was there ever any doubt???

As to the wine, Tom and I are not big wine drinkers...but a little. The ship has an amazing Moscato that we got turned on to in Palo's...thanks Marco!!! If anyone has had Marco, I think he was heading home for his break. Mickey's Mates and Treasure Ketch are both carrying a wine that is able to go back to your room that night. I think it is Captain Thord's favorite or something. I meant to buy a bottle last month, and have him sign it...but alas, I forgot. Great new book onboard that the Captain will sign as well.

Crew that should be there...Kaz!!! If you guys enjoy what she does...and let me tell you, it is more than you realize...let Disney know. She has been teased with an Asst. Cruise Director title and then been glossed over a few times! Well, if you could put in a few kind words for her, I would appreciate it. She has become a good friend over the last few years. Also, her boyfriend will have disembarked a week before we get there...so she could use some really happy faces!!!

Extra two cents on DVC...when we first looked...1992...we actually left property without buying. They were great about it and didn't hound us. We called them within a couple of months and did everything through the mail! We bought our points and did 4 add ons. That's when we decided to build a second home in Florida! That way we use our points for cruising. We are points cruising this trip and for the Med. You do meet the best people at the meets!
Remember to say hi to Kristin at the DVC desk! OH...they now have two people manning the desk!

Maybe we should :) . The girls (we're all) getting excited to see you guys.
We have about 8 houses for sell in our neighborhood. We could set you up. Our girls can't wait to see you. Just 2 weeks.

By the way, do we now call BigBlueMan...Captain Blue???? pirate: If anyone gets into the Disney area early, Downtown Disney has fake tatoos for about $5-7. Our boys had them put on for our last one and it made it pretty fun for them. If you want to get into the pirate theme...it is definitely a great way to go!! pirate: :thumbsup2

Almost forgot, Avery is ready to see you too. He might not remember our last cruise, but I know he is looking forward to this one. We ask him every day if he is ready to go on Micky's boat. He says yes.

So....When I picked up my pint-sized pirate from his dad's house today, he asked on the way home, "Mom, shouldn't we get our suitcases from the attic?" He wants to put his luggage tags on and start packing ALREADY?! ;) Maybe he's not mine after all!!! I guess tomorrow I'll let him pack.

My daughters are trying the "I need to go to Limited II or Justice for Girls to buy some stuff for the cruise" line. Like they do not already have twice as much stuff as they need. I think that they will start deciding this weekend what to take.

Sorry, a bunch of you posted while I was typing my last one, so it doesn't go with the flow. :confused3

tomspixie: How great that you use your DVC points for cruising! That's probably all I would use mine for if I were to buy in.

KIDS! Yeah, Tyler was telling me too what he wanted to bring. Which pajamas, which stuffed animals, etc. Good grief! I'm glad I don't have many clothes, so I don't have any deciding to do. I'll literally bring everything. MUCH easier! :teeth:

I wish I could get my DW ready to pack. She is a last minute packer. I guess I should not complain since she does most of it for us. It is not easy to pack for 6 people for 7 days. 8 days if you include the night before the cruise. She does a good job. But there was that one time she packed me only 2 pairs of socks. But who needs socks on a cruise?

Hey at least you got some socks. My DW also did most of the packing for all of us, until ..... one vacation I got NO socks, one vacation I got NO deodorant, tooth brush, or tooth paste, one vacation I got NO work out clothes. I now have my own checklist.

I left Birmingham one Sunday morning to go to Miami to speak at a memorial service for a friend that had died. I was going to get there just in time to get my car and get to the service. I discovered that morning that I had failed to pack my dress socks.

Imagine scouring the Birmingham, Orlando AND Ft Lauderdale airports on a Sunday morning trying to find a pair of dress socks.

Found 'em in the last shop in Ft Lauderdale, but had to pay something like twelve bucks for them.

After that was when I added the Excel spreadsheet to my PDA which I use as a packing guide.

BTW, UGA.. if I wasn't so loyal to my Wildcats, I could EASILY be a DAWG fan! I've been to Athens a bunch of times for ballgames. it's my favorite place in the SEC to visit! I even have a model of that double barreled cannon from the Athens courthouse lawn in my office.

I can't imagine having to pack for 6 people! You've got a great wife! :thumbsup2

I tried to get my wife to stay in Athens when I graduated. But she said no. I miss it. We only get up there about 2 to 3 times a year now. But we are going next weekend for a fundraiser. I hope to make it back for atleast 1 game this year.

She is a great DW. She packed for us a couple of weeks ago to go to Disney world for a week. And I am sure she will do a good job on the cruise. All of this with a 22 month old that screams mom as soon as she gets out of his site.

Hey, Ashlee had her first High School softball game today. She is on the JV team. We beat our cross county rival. She played a pretty good game.

I will accept leadership with honor.

First, I will lead you to the Promenade Deck, where we'll do an indepth study of famous "umbrella drinks".

Then, I will lead you to the Rockin Bar D, where we'll toast our upcoming week.

Afterwards, we will stagger to Diversions to "divert our attention" and repeat over and over, "I wonder what the peasants are doing?...".

Finally, I will lead those still standing to Sessions where we'll tap a bottle of Mickey's finest, have hors d'oeuvres and get a cruise listing so we can begin planning our NEXT great adventure together..

(All of this has to happen quickly, as I figure by day two my reign will have ended due to a coup and I'll be in Mickey's brig, somewhere below the water line....)

See, I knew he could lead. Given this itinerary, I will indeed reply, "Aye Aye"

Tell her good job for us. As for the houses in the neighborhood... I hear being a landlord is quit entertaining. :)

Ok, I am only saying this to make you, Monstro and Courtney feel better, never the less it is true:

I was delighted to actually get my docs package because it was a signal to pack. The actual papers themselves were kind of let down, Two Bahama forms and some luggage tags do not compare to the fever I get from reading these posts each day...Your guys are way more fun than silly old papers! :cheer2:

Well I would hope we're more fun than luggage tags! Otherwise we're wasting our time here....

Just bought my crocs last night to wear on the cruise after reading all the hype on another thread. I have to say, they are the MOST comfortable things my feet have ever experienced! I wore them all over the house last night and just HAD to wear them to work today to see how they'd feel walking around all day. VERY nice! But I might return Tyler's before he sees them because they're just really clunky shoes and I can see him tripping over them, still being in that uncoordinated little kid phase.
They'd have to be really comfortable, because they sure didn't catch on for the stylish look! I haven't tried any on b/c they are like berkenstocks to me- I don't want to know they're comfy because then I'd want to wear them and I just can't see myself in them. :rotfl:
