yeah.... I lost count a long time ago. This will be the biggest disgroup we've ever sailed with.

Anyone staying at the Hyatt the night before the cruise? We are flying in from New Jersey Friday arriving late afternoon.

Our DIS meet last year was really great! We started off with a meet 'n greet in the Promenade Lounge. A couple of folks had "taken the lead" and compiled a list of all the DISers (names, city/state, and DIS name)... one person made name tags, and another family put together small photo albums for all the kids (these were dollar store photo albums that had various Disney character stickers decorating the covers).

The next day, we had a treasure hunt (for hidden Mickeys) for all the kids. The older kids were "captains" and a parent went with each group. While the teams were out searching, the moms (and me...I got drafted) filled "loot" bags. We had a list that showed the number of kids, boy or girl, and age. We had three piles of loot bags.... one for girls, one for boys, and one for tots. Alot of folks brought items to donate......such as pirate coins, beads, gums, crackers, glow sticks, stickers, etc. Also there were some age appropriate items for the smaller kids, such as "Pirate" rubber ducks, and other toys....no candy or anything they could choke on.

We did have one very generous (and brave) DIS mom that made tie-dye tees for all the kids. I'm not sure if she got a great deal on tee shirts or what, but all of our little pirates had matching tees. Very cute!!!

Since all of the kids got a loot bag, nobody felt left out. The total time was probably about 30-45 minutes and the parents got a lot of cute photos.

One of the dads (Captain Crash) was able to get about a dozen Mickey bars (I think Guest Services helped him out) and some of the dads had a "Mickey Bar" eating contest, which was very funny!!!!!

I've never seen such a huge DIS meet....it was really fun. We're still exchanging emails with some of the folks we met!

These are just some ideas. I'm sure other folks probably have ideas too.

Hi. My wife, 9 yo daughter and I are fluing from JFK and staying at the Orlando airport Hyatt the Friday before the cruise.

We got an AAA rate of $161 for a king size bed.

We'll be at the Hyatt the night before as well. How is everyone getting to the port? We're taking a limo and if anyone is interested in riding with us and splitting the cost, please let me know asap. There will be four of us and we can fit four more at most. For four people it would cost each group approx $170 which includes the 20% tip. Email me or send me a PM if you're interested.

The DW and I are heading down a couple of nights before and are in a studio at Sarasota Springs. We are going to Epcot the day before.

We're flying in the day of, DCL air. We usually prefer to book our own air, but given our experience the last time we cruised in hurricane season, we decided it would be worth the extra money to have Disney worry about our flights and not us, if need be.

The last time DW and I cruised we flew down early Friday, stayed at the Hyatt and went to the Magic Kingdom. Loved the Hyatt option, very, very convenient.

I'd be happy to help out for a DIS meet. On our last trip we did a meet at the sail away party. It was pretty hectic and I think we only talked about 10 min. It was very rushed. I would have loved to chatted and visited a bit more.

Would it be too bold to ask how many are sailing in your party, children's names, boy/girl, and ages? I will go through the thread and list what I can. Thanks! Last week I had a Dr. appt. and my Dr. mentioned our cruise is just 9 weeks away! I was like, what? I looked and thought, OMG! 9 weeks sounds better than 60 days

Here's a question for everyone...my husband is obsessed about getting passports for the cruise. He is paranoid that we will not be able to go on the cruise without passports. He mentions this every time we discuss any aspect of the cruise. He has convinced himself that our vacation will be ruined if we don't get passports. Normally, I'd just get the passports to put his mind at ease. But, I think it is too late now to get passports. Any words of wisdom from anyone out there? Anyone else out there whose spouse is driving you crazy like this?
