Just wondering how the crowds are at WDW the week before Christmas? I am looking at 12/15 through 12/22 give or take a day. I wanted to go in December and we are moving from MI to Ohio and I've learned in Ohio they get the last 2 weeks of December for vacation, in MI we only get the holiday week off and then they give us off in Feb. a week.

Rather than pull my DD out of school I would like to go that week if crowds aren't bad - anyone have any advice? :flower:

That's the week that we're going too. From what I've read, the week starts off with lower crowds that build as you get later in the week.

We were there this year from the 18th - 26th.

To be honest, it was not as bad as I feared. We usually go during a much slowere time, and although there were crowds, it was not unbearable.

The three things you should (no MUST) do are 1) get there early; 2) make ADR's ahead of time and 3) have a plan!

If you do these and follow the advice on these boards you will be fine!

We NEVER waited more than 20 minutes for anything by using FASTPASS and getting there early.

Did MVMCP and by following the advice on the boards, we were able to do everything we wanted there too.

Made all our ADR's ahead of time and got all the places and times that we wanted.

It was a great time to go, and I hope to get to do it again someday.

Have a great trip! :flower:

We were lucky enough to be there this year Dec 17 to Dec 21 and thought the crowds were large, but twice previously we visited in September. Even though there were a lot of people in the parks, the lines for the rides were not bad. I think only once did we wait longer than 30 minutes and that was on Saturday. The worst part was lunch in the parks and dinner if we didn't have PS made well ahead of time. We stayed at POR and the busses were not great, but not terrible either. We still had a magical trip even if the crowds were larger than we had hoped. After all, it is still Disney World.

We had an awesome week 12/18 - 12/25! It was crowded, but not gridlock. We usually go in October or February. We made our ADRs about 90 days out and went early. I would definitely plan a midday break. Use that resort! You can escape the crowds and enjoy the atmosphere at your resort.

Also, if you don't want to fork over the $$ for MVMCP, wait until the last one is done to visit MK. They switch the afternoon parade to the Christmas parade at that time. They also offer the same Christmas shows during the regular park hours. Cool!
