Found the 2006 Theme park attendance leagues, AK goes up nearly catching MGM, due to Expedition Everest, top five bar one are all the Disney MK/Disneyland style parks.

Good old Blackpool makes the league.

Just goes to show that Disney have pretty much got the theme park market sewn up. Fancy Blackpool tieing with Universal studios :rotfl:

Top eight all Disney, and top five all the Disneyland/MK style, Universal kicked for six.

Disney Paris doing well, but look at Disney Californian adventure, 2/3 of people visiting DL C, do not go to the sister park accross the pavement.

Very interesting - I can't believe that Blackpool and Universal Studios have the same attendance :thumbsup2

well done Disney. They'll always be number one in my book.

I was quite surprised that California was not far behind, would have thought Epcot or another Florida would have been number 2

DL California is always very popular, The Original one and on the West coast near LA with a great ready supply of visitors. Disney just cant hold onto them in CL the same as WDW, DL is 1-3 days, you would got to WDW for 7-14 days.

that's why I was surprised Andrew, i just thought almost all people who went to MK in FLA would be there for more than one day and would then go to Epcot (being that there isn't an Epcot anywhere else) or Universal as its a different group. I realise Disney Cal is really popular I just didn't think it would be right up there under Fla

Still a lot of people who stay off site in Orlando in villas and offsite hotels and divide their time up say a week parks and a week at the beach, or cruise.

So then the seven days is Split up, MK a must for all, some do the other Disney parks, some Universal, Seaworld, Kennedy, etc, water parks. Then there is rest days by the pool, etc.

MK is the main draw on everyones list, and the other parks at WDW hold up very well keeping hold of about 9 million people, so thats not bad really.

Cost is a factor for many people, MK is on the tick list but once you have a villa pool there isnt any extra ticket cost.

same with DLP with WDS not on the list, I don't think it means people are not visiting it. On a 3 day trip people may spend 2 days at the Magic Kingdom Park and only 1 day at the other park.
