2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006

Hi past fellow cruisers:

it has been eons since I have posted on this thread.

I know a lot of you are not going on the Member Cruise this year. You'll be missed. It was not fun trying to book this one. I actually had a friend book for me 'cause of so much gong on at that time. But I got on.

Perhaps next year's cruise will be a little better - in some respects !!!! - and we'll be cruisin' together again.

My friend, Seaulater (Linda) is flying into Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow and we are driving up together. That was very nice since now I don't have to drive alone.

I'm sorry we're missing this years cruise in a way, especially because we've done the first three, but I was so disappointed in the whole booking process I couldn't get past it.

I tried to work my schedule to stop over at the meet, but it looks like it's not going to work. Stop back here and let us know how the cruise went.....after you return of course, don't waste any second of that cruise on the internet, it goes way too fast!!

Oh--and while you're having a KK for Cindy, you may as well have 2 or 3 for me too!

To all those going on the Member Cruise have a great cruise, hope you have nice weather for CC. I will miss the 2 days we spent last year hanging out at the beach with everyone - it was a great time! Friends, konk koolers and paradise what more could you ask for?

it is going to be interesting to see how they have us sign up for the cruise in 2008. Someone will have some brainstormed idea.

Maybe those who sign up first will have to "want" to be a DVC member

Happy Monday!

We are back from a weekend trip out to town to visit with friends. It's nice to get away, but sometimes getting back, it feels as if we missed out on a weekend....if that makes sense.

Yesterday we spent a couple of hours at the mall, shopping for cruise clothes for next month. Gary now owns a tuxedo for formal night, Cameron now owns some dress pants & shoes that fit, as well as Walker getting new shoes that fit as well. I think we have a pretty good handle on what we needed to buy in order to have what we need.

Now to figure out how to pack it all so that we don't look like we did on our first cruise. Being we are taking Gary's car to the airport, I know there is no way we'd be able to get 8 suitcases in it.

We are back as well. Fun weekend!

Talked to Jeff a couple of times but never did meet with him. I did have breakfast with Mark and Mary at the Thomas Kinkade breakfast on Saturday morning. I hope everyone on the Member Cruise is having fun!

Epcot was packed because of the Food and Wine Festival. The MNSSHP was very fun (as usual). I can't believe we hit every park and Downtown Disney more than once. After staying at Port Orleans we really appreciate our DVC even more. DH and I sleeping in a double bed just doesn't work!

Gary nothing, wait until you see Walker in his! And if Cameron wasn't being such a 13 year old, I'd buy him one too!





Roxann, you must have been exhaused after all of that in a weekend. It sounds like you had fun.

Cindy - The gentleman will all look spiffy in their new "dress up" clothes on the cruise. You'l have to share a picture or two after you get back.

Yes! We were just talking about it tonight. I would love to go but it is not the best timing. We have an Alaska cruise in July, I should have my 20th class reunion sometime in August, DD starts middle school next year and that would only be her third week. My Mom says she is retiring in July so maybe DH and I could take a cruise without DD and she could stay home with Grandma . Might have to think about this a little more and check out the points charts.

We got the card too, but I don't see SSMC08 in our future! We already have our Christmas 08 cruise scheduled, and I don't see us cruising a couple of months before that.

We got the card, and I really want to go!!! I looked up the points and the points for the kids is insane, when I talked to Tim, we said we'd leave the kids behind. But then I was thinking about it, and its the last year that we can really pull Krystina out of school, she's going to be starting Junior High. So we are up in the air on what to do, I know that Tim and I want to go, but if the kids go or not is what we are going to have to decide...I really want to take them, we are leaving them in February for a 4 night cruise, so I would feel bad leaving them again. Oh well, November 17, I will decide!!! Thats going to be a rough day for me, I am in Vegas for a Continuing Education class, and we are going to see Lance Burton at 10pm the night before...But I will be up and on my phone early!!!
