I was really hoping the points chart would be out today but it doesn't look likes it going to happen. Well! Maybe tomorrow. Annmarie

Cindy went back and looked at the beginning of the 2005 thread. It was started on 10/7 which we can assume is when the cruise was first announced. Booking was 10/23. About two weeks later. The big difference this time is that we know about the cruise so much sooner.

I do think we'll see the points charts soon.

Thanks, Mary.

And, the bigger difference is for some of us, we now know what to expect and it makes the anticipation so much greater! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Soon.......soon.......soon :teeth:

Heck, I'm still trying to figure out when we are going to get in our Disney Hong Kong trip before Sept. 30, 06.

January-Hawaii 1 week
January-meetings in Florida
May-meeting in San Francisco
June-meetings in Florida and WDW trip
August-meeting in New York
September-11 day Disney cruise
October 22-Member Cruise

And of course we've got school, dance and cheer to figure into the mix too!

Linda

I am not sure we can make this one, but it is nice to see everyone out in full force so early in the game. I might have to do a points/cash combo. I am waiting to see the points chart.

So, for Halloween I had all of you "Lips" ladies w/ me. I found some big red wax lips at the party store. I wore them and said "Botox gone bad" to anyone who asked--but really I was going as "Mrs. Lips". :rotfl2:

It's true... the DVC CM who hosts Member Update and the last Member Cruise is leaving TWDC. I know this because it's me. Thank you for the kind words posted on this thread. Knowing I've positively impacted the lives of many people (especially Members) is humbling.

The decision was definitely not an easy one and required months of consideration. In fact, the first discussions began in the middle of the summer when the idea of being recruited first came up. One of the primary reasons I came to accept the idea of leaving was knowing that I'm a DVC Member and can now enjoy our Member experience firsthand, without creating, marketing, or working the experiences myself. I'm still connected to the business unit I love and to the company that has been a part of my heart since I was six. I'll share more in future posts if you're interested, but in summary, Will and I are relocating to Dallas, Texas, where I've accepted a senior position with an advertising firm in the Quadrangle. Visit xmiceboys.shutterfly.com if you'd like to see our new home.

As for the points chart for next year's cruise, I can say with relative certainty that it will be released very soon. This was the last project I worked on before leaving yesterday. In fact, I gave the agency approval to finalize the creative development of the chart. You should expect to see it on the web site soon... or that's where things stood when I left. Member Services will receive the points chart when it goes up on the web site. There will be a change in points/cash required for the sailing because the 10/22/2006 sailing date is in Regular Season and not in Value Season, as the past two cruises had been.

Now, like all of you, Will and I have plans to enjoy our Membership and all it has to offer through 2054. We look forward to our return visits to the Walt Disney World Resort, and in fact, have just added on 125 points to make more trips possible each year.

I have officially handed over my event planner's hat to another Member of my team as he takes on planning next year's cruise. Last night, a reception was held in the DVC Preview Center for those of us who worked on the cruise in September. Will and I were also honored for the work we've done for DVC. I was presented with a framed Ducky lithograph, the same one we distributed on the final night of the SSMC05, for having created and produced this year's Member Cruise. To honor both Will and I for our dedication, DVC has added our photo to those displayed in the Preview Center. It's a photo taken during this summer's DVC vacation to Key West just before the Member Cruise. In fact, if you sailed on the Member Cruise, you might have seen the picture, as it was in a frame on display with other Member photos in the showcase window of Mickey's Mates on Deck 4, FWD.

For now, that's the news from Windermere. I look forward to chatting with you more and continuing the friendships we began when I was a DVC Cast Member.

Very sincerely,
David

Noreen!!! :cool1: :cool1: Mrs. Lips. Only those of us on the 2005 cruise have such a great admiration for a person we've really never met! :cool1: :cool1:

I still have my flashing lips, tucked away in my special box of things. Maybe I'll bring them next cruise, in honor of the fun we had on the 2005 one.

David, I will echo Karen's words.

For the rest of us, why didn't we think to call it the SSMC05???? :rotfl2: 14,000+ posts and we never once thought of that!! ;)

David, wishing you the best in your new position and the relocation to Dallas. DVC sure is losing a great CM!!!

David-- I'm so happy for you. You are a wonderful person who deserves the best.

Any chances of you joining us on SSMC 2006? You already know we are a fun group! And I'm sure someone here can even find a pair of blinkie flip flops in your size!

I will admit, I did not come up with SSMC05. A very wise and organized man came up with it and used it in a correspondance we had together. At that point I had a V8 moment and smacked myself in the head.....couldn't believe I had been writing out S.S. Member Cruise for so long when SSMC05 looked so cool!!!!

I'm not a name dropper, so I won't (COUGH/COUGH/COUGH/DAVID/COUGH/COUGH) tell you who the aformentioned man was!!! :rotfl2:

But we all know we like to do things the hard way. And typing out SS Member Cruise a million times only made the anticipation greater!

During his exit interview he probably pre-booked!!! I did notice he snuck in an add on while still officially a CM!! Wise, organized AND SNEAKY!! ;)

David - I will echo everyone else's well wishes for you and Will in the future. Thank you for all the work you did on SSMC05 - it was greatly appreciated!

As for the SSMC05 - you all didn't pay attention to David's DIS button did you? :rotfl2: When he told us that is the code they were using for the sailing Mark made up buttons that said something along the lines of "Member of the awesome SSMC05 Maketing Team"! This was in the same font and location as our ownership locations and dates.

Karen, credit where credit is due!!!

I won't mention that David used SSMC05 in his post first. ;) ;)

I also want to wish you luck in your new endeavors, David!! You did such a spectacular job with SSMC05!!! We hope to see you at future member events!!!

FoxxBoys, isn't it amazing how many people who's lives you have touched (note ro self, listen to Small World soundtrack to get song from Beauty and the Beast out of head). It will be great to have someone locally who can out talk me on DVC!!!

See You Around...
:jumping2:

David - Many thanks to you and your team for such an excellent event this year on the SSMC05 (had to try it out). I think Matt and I may have sat next to you guys in the Comedy Warehouse at the PI Sail Away Party this year. Anywho - we live in the DFW area (although on the Fort Worth side) and love that you are moving this way. Please feel free to PM me with any questions and hopefully we can meet up sometime soon!
