Cindy - sorry to hear about your dog - these animals sure do grab at our heart-strings, don't they.
Sounds like a fun time at Hilton Head - sure hope I can find some time to go there and stay sometime.

We have a great group over on the Magic to the Med cruise - wish you could come along with us!!! I can't believe that this cruise is just over a month away! And, yes, I'm a nevous wreck as usual.
Here's our link if anyone is interested - I'm going to know almost as many people as I've known on other member cruises -

I'm back in Michigan for a bit so I can prepare for my May trips - and to finish up the CJs that I forgot to bring with me.

Hi everyone!! Cindy, I'm glad to see that you're back, but I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. What a tough thing to go through while on vacation!!!

We're keeping busy around here with spring break last week and back to school today. I've started working a little bit at the school last week for a couple of days, and I'll be working after-care on Monday afternoons too. It gives me something to do, and the girls are still with me. Can't beat that!!!

This type of week is exactly one which makes me wonder how single parents do it! I'm glad it's over and way to go, Nick, on those merit badges!

Cameron is very into Boy Scouts right now. We have heard more and more about it this past week and which merit badges he's going to work on next. Court of Honor is coming up in a couple of weeks. Cameron is going to be in a "leadership" position for as the Bugler for the Troop. I bet he'll be counting his 6 months soon so he figures when he might be eligible for his next rank advancement.

Thanks for the good thoughts about Tony. It is so strange to not have him here with us but I know he's in a better place.

Congratulations Cameron on becoming the bugler! When we got married, Ken still had the bugle he'd played when he was in scouts. It's probably still around here somewhere, but I wouldn't have a clue where to look!:confused3

And a big hug  for you on the loss of Tony. We certainly have had more than our fair share of losing pets in this group in the last year.

Amy that sounds like fun for both you and the girls!!

Roxann - good luck at your new job today!!!

Just wanted to add that I am the proud owner of some Disney crocs now (the ivory ... ok grey really) and LOVE them! I wore them all weekend scrapbooking and while I don't know that I can wear them out in normal public settings I will be wearing them at the world in just a few weeks :dance3:

:yay: Yea, another convert :yay: Congrats! I bought the pink Disney ones when we were down there in February. My dd Dawn was wanting a pair for work. She said all the nurses at the hospital wear them so they must be really comfortable.

Congrats to Cameron on becoming the Bugler for the Troop.
Nick is currently the Librarian for his troop. Our next Court of Honors is the first or second week of June. Nick is hoping to have completed 4 merit badges by then and his Second Class and maybe First Class Ranks so he can start working on his Star Rank.

You bought your pink Mickey crocs in February? Did you see anyone cool in January wearing the same ones? :rolleyes1

Hey, maybe I did ;) Would that cool person be you :cool1: I would have bought them in January, but they didn't have my size hanging on the rack, but they came through for me while there the following month. Now I have the regular pink ones and the Mickey pink ones - I think I need some other colors!

Not to be an enabler or anything, but if you go through coupon cabin, you can get 15% of at Dick's and for a new google checkout person you get $10 off a purchase, so you can get them for a steal. I need to order the girls new ones for the up coming trip. Emma wants pink, of course, but Julia wants blue---if I can only convince Bruce to get a Blue pair--we'll be once big matching family! :lmao:

Welcome Back Cindy.
I am sorry for your loss. Hope everyone is doing well. I know that when my damnation passes on I will be heart broken and she has not even lived with me for 2 years.

We really want to do Hilton Head one summer too!! Unfortunately we are POINTS POOR until 2008. We are though going to leave this cold weather coming in on Wednesday here and head SOUTH on Saturday. YEAH!!!!!

We are busy into sports season as well. Of course Saturday I had a bout of "old timers" and got the times for Nicks soccer practice messed up and he missed his 2 hour session. oh swell... the team aint that great!!!. He will go to practice on Wednesday but then will miss 2 practices and a game - of course he could stay here and not go to DISNEY - but I do not see that happening. We will be driving home on Saturday and he has baseball practice at 8:30 am Sunday... ick!! Hopefully we can bring warm weather home with us.

We are also points poor until 08, so I vote for a HH grand gathering in the Summer of 08!! :dance3: I'm sure by then I'll be complaining about how hot it is in Florida and begging to go north for some cool air! :lmao:

I'll bring the tequila and smoothie maker!!

Cool another trip! HH sounds great!

I won a contest at work (Best Buy, Appliances, in case anyone wants to know about Dyson vacuums and front load laundry). We will be in LA for 5 days with Best Buy and then we will have a couple of days. We would like to go to DisLand. Is there anyone who can give us advice on where to stay. Do we use the points and stay at the parks or will we be better off not staying on property.
Thanks

I can't help you a bit because I've never been to California, but I just wanted to say Congratulations!! :cheer2: I know some of these other folks should be able to help you out though.

Count us in!! Wait......we're already planning on HH summer of 2008. What a coincidence! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Sorry, I will no longer share my favorite room location though. You new HH folks will just have to drool on your own!

Here's a couple of pictures from this past week:
We were driving through Kentucky when I spotted a sign for a Civil War Battle sight. Cameron's always been interested in the history of the Civil War, so I suggested we stop. Little did I know that the road leading there would not only be winding through the hills (mountains to me  ) but would be a one lane road made of gravel. I couldn't drive up it, so Gary took over as I thought we were going to die on the way up. Once we got to the top, these local Kentucky people started coming out of the woodwork to see where we were from and what we were doing up there. To say it was a little unnerving would be an understatement. Here's one of the few pictures we took:

One of our kids favorite things to do is play pool in the "Den":

This is the best shot I have of the Flounder Cameron caught. The closer shot shows the fishes mouth wide open, bearing it's teeth. Really eerie.

One of the two stingrays the "boys" caught. Notice the bucket holding the tail and stinger:

They recently revamped the beach by moving the high tide line back probably 100 feet. In doing so, they created a drop off area to separate the high tide from the beach itself. My kids didn't start this structure, but they sure enjoyed adding to it every trip we took to the beach:

I have to say, sitting inside of their hole, it was so quiet and eerie. Knowing that the ocean was churning 10' from where I sat was really strange because the sand cushioned the sound:

This is one of the few Whitings the boys caught:

Back, yet another day, to that hole in the sand:

We did the beach combing trip to Dufuskie Island and saw a couple of dolphins along the way - including a mother and a newborn baby:

Kayaking:

Here's one of the live oaks with moss hanging from it. There are several on the property there that must be 100's of years old:

Oh, something we could only dream of having:

This home is being built on Dufuskie Island. It faces the Atlantic Ocean across from Tybee Island. A breathtaking sight!

Congratulations on winning! :dance3:

I hope you figure out where to stay in California. It's on our list of places to visit! I know Mary & Mark and Cheryl & Todd have been there. And, Gail too, I think.

If you can do it, I'd recommend staying on site. It is easier for taking breaks, etc. When I went to LA, I stayed in LA and then drove to DL big mistake, especially when we needed that afternoon nap.

Next time I plan on staying on site.

Cheryl
