Wasn't her name Kem? Thanks to this thread at least I know what I missed on ER last night. I taped it downstairs while taping Six Degrees upstairs. When I went to play it this morning before work I realized there was no sound recorded. Ugh. I must look into TiVo. I hope it's easy to use.

Yes --- Kem was her name.

Last nights episode was one of the better ones that I've seen in a long time.

Cindy - Sorry you missed Monster's Inc.
Maybe they didn't have the show tonight due to weather and road conditions. You may want to check with the arena where they are having the show.

Mark says that many of the roads were flooded on his way home as well. Sorry to hear you and Walker don't get to see Monsters on Ice. Maybe you can join us in chat unless you have someting else planned with Walker.

We made it to see :sulley: :cheer2:

It was quite an experience. First we couldn't get out of our neighborhood due to flooding. Every which way I went, it was way deeper than anyone was attempting to get through. Finally I headed south and went through the back streets and a big puddle and got out onto the main roads. From there, I circled 3 times on the highway --- debating about whether this was a good idea or not. Of course, Walker wanted to go. Then he didn't want to go. Then he wanted to go again. Around and around and around we went.

We finally made it to the arena -- to find that their parking lot was flooding and closed. So, we parked where we could, at a much cheaper price :teeth: and made it into the show shortly after it started.

Walker's beat and already in bed for the night.

I liked the show --- I liked the second 1/2 much better than the first. Maybe I had just relaxed enough to really start to enjoy it. Mickey, Minnie, Donald & Goofy made their appearances as well.

When we sat down, we had seats probably 8 rows from the ice. There was a railing directly in front of us and on the other side of it, a brick divider. I said to Walker, look, it's a monorail. I really thought they had a mini-version of a monorail as part of the show and just couldn't place where that would be in Monsters Inc. So, I'm sitting there, looking at this monorail track and I follow it along to see that people are sitting directly against it around the bend. Now I can't figure out how they are going to make the monorail appear when there are people sitting against the track.

Finally it dawned on me that the Allstate Arena is also home to the Chicago Wolves hockey team. And, the monorail track that I've been staring at isn't really a monorail track, but the outside of their ice rink. I started laughing to myself -- feeling like a total WDW nut in the wrong place. I really, really thought it was the monorail. I'm glad I only told Walker what it was and no one else sitting near us.

Disney on the brain, what more can I say? :rotfl2:

Thanks but I'll pass on the popcorn. We're selling it here too. So far he has around $200 in orders.
Last year Nick sold around $330 or $350 and earned $110 to use in the scout store or for camp. We used it towards summer camp and it paid for 50%. Not to bad.

Our Cub Scout pack is trying something new this year. Instead of awarding the cheapo prizes they are going to award Toys R Us gift cards, based on the sales. I have no idea what Walker has "sold" so far as the order form is at Gary's work. We are doing a site sale tomorrow morning at the grocery store so hopefully it will be dry and busy. :thumbsup2

I won't eat at Burger King because of a bad experience, but mine wasn't food related. Someone was being funny and wrote F*** You on my Chicken Sandwich wrapper. I wasn't laughing and haven't been back since.

You could only imagine what they might have done to the food.

Very sad.

I once worked for Burger King. It was the place to work when I was in high school as all my friends also worked there. I was almost fired as a district manager saw that instead of scrapping Diana's favorite mayo out of the pan and using it all up, I decided to get a new one out of the fridge and throw the almost used up one in the sink to be washed. As if that wasn't enough, the same district manager then watches as I put 3 tomatoes on a Whopper, only tomato and told me that I was costing them money. That poor sandwich just looked so lonely with 2 little tomatoes on it, I was just trying to spruce it up a bit.

I quit that job not once, but twice. I promised the manager after I left the first time and I wanted to come back that I wouldn't quit again. Guess I wasn't very good at keeping my promises in those days. :rotfl:

Must have been a quiet night in chat.

Everyone's left by now. :(

Maybe Sunday.

Awwww....man! Boy Scout popcorn is our favorite. But we got some last year and then the kids got braces (headgear brackets and now braces) so popcorn became the forbidden food around here. We still have all of our popcorn left from last year! :(

That's exactly when they lost Mike and I!!!!!
We were talking about it this morning and we were trying to figure out how long it had been since we watched it. From the beginning we watched religiously every week. Then after Dr. Greene had his thing (and George Clooney left, and Sherry Stringfield left) then it was over for us. :(

That's when I stopped watching as well. I tried to get back into it but DH is not a fan of medically oriented shows :-(

Okay, small world. I worked at Burger King back in high school and made assistant manager. I quit to help take car eof my Grandmother. Memories that are priceless. I am so glad I lived with my Grandma for a few months before she passed away.

Go for the TIVO!! MY DH was always trying to convince me we should get it. I thought, we don't need that. Now that I have it I can't imagine not having it anymore. Go for it!!! You will love it! Never miss a show and fast forward through the commercials!

Chris

Yeah, TIVO. I teased my kids about getting it (they bought with own money and I bought the lifetime (no longer offered) service agreement for a holiday gift for them. Now I cna't imagine life without it. I can't really explain it but i think the reason it's so wonderful is because it's so simple and you never need a tape to rewind or remember if something you want is recorded on it.

Ok let me start by saying GROSS!!!

I might have thought the fly thing was a fluke but I think no matter how gross the raw chicken was I'd be up in that managers face asap!

Isn't there a website were you can see if a place has passed or failed recent health dept inspections? I thought I heard or read about something like that.
Yea, for Albany County you just go to the Dept of Health site and they have all the restaurant. That Wendy's has 2 "Blue violations" they explain what can be considered a blue violation but doesn't say which specific violation this restaurant had. Food temp is considered a blue violation. The Schenectady County site isn't as user friendly.

I've typed up a letter to Wendy's Corporate and cc'd the Albany and Schenectady County Department of Health. I certainly hope someone's head is going to roll. What stinks is none of them have email address to submit complaints to!

YEA!!!!!! And SORRY!!
I hope you do enjoy doing it though. When I started I thought, oh I just need a thing or two and I can do my scrapbook, then I became a little crazy. Plus they make SO MANY cool things for scrapbookers now a days.

Yeah, I know...and I do tend to go overboard too. I'm such an avid knitter I could probably open my own yarn store, albeit a small store ;-) The reason I've steered clear so far is like with beading (yup, do that too and quilting and sewing and spin my own yarn and weave, etc.), all the choices are overwhelming and instead of being a relaxing hobby I wind up stressing about it. But if I approach it as i did the altered paint can (with the idea already in my head or down on paper) and go in the stores looking just for what i need it could work....yeah right who am i kidding :rotfl2:
Anyway I'm thinking I'll do the black cover on this scrapbook to match the altered paint can and the two can be displayed as a set...we'll see.

I'm really close to 300 so you'll have to put up with a few more posts.

No fast food place idiosyncrasies here but DH doesn't like cheesecake factory because he ordered a salad once and after eating most of it found a roach (or fly can't remember) on the bottom of the bowl. YUK! I once found a piece of dishrag in a lasagne from Ground Round (they are out of business now, LOL).

First ya gotta know I hate all you scrapbookers for doing this to me...I did NOT need another hobby, LOL :confused3
I've gone a bought the cheapie starter kit from AC. It was black and well ya know how that brings on Mickey ideas so......ya got me!
:cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2:

Oh yeah, I also wanted to thank you all for giving my fears (heights/bridges) some validation. I was feeling not so alone in this after reading your responses...maybe I'm not crazy afterall OR maybe alot of people on this thread ARE :rotfl::rotfl:

That's just wrong.

I won't eat at BK anymore either. I used to love the Whopper, but after several bad experiences with it in locations across the country, I decided the quality of product just wasn't what it should be for me to spend my money on it. I haven't set foot/or gone to drive-thru of BK in more than 10 years now.

I had to do it, just one more post...so did you read where crocs are not the best footwear for elderly and kids or anyone with weak ankles...I'm still keeping mine!

I thought David was nuts for getting Tivo, especially his reason. But it didn't take long to convince me it's a wonderful thing. Now the only problem is when the satelite looses signal due to weather. But I love that we can record one show and watch another, or record two different shows at the same time. And the skipping commercials thing - PRICELESS!!!

Ilene, Congratulations on your 300th post! :thumbsup2

Ian's school just finished their wrapping paper & cookie dough fundraiser. David took the order form to his office for a week and got not one single order! After all the support he's given to fundraisers for everyone else's kids, I'm just so angry that no one found it in them to reciprocate.
