YEAH!!!!!!!!!
I'm still trying to figure out a way to come up the first weekend of December. I'm keeping my eyes out for DING fares, so we'll see.

1) What is your packing strategy? (do you pack a week ahead, the night before, the day you leave, etc.) I take my suitcase out a few days early and put things I want to take in it as I find them until the last night when I cram whatever I don't get done before in. Usually I am up very late trying to remember everything. Somehow I just 'feel' right when I remember everything which doesn't happen often.

2) Do you have any pre-vacation rituals? When I was in NJ we would order pizza the night before because of the easy clean-up. Now that I'm in Florida I usually am cleaning my apartment because my mom lets me have it otherwise when she gets down here. Come to think of it so does my dad.

3) What deck are you on for this cruise and what do you like best about that location?I'm on deck 7 and when I called I asked for a Cat 11 toward the back and was given deck 7. I wanted deck 6 like last year but figured I would take whatever, then found out I was near Mark and Mary and Pmed Mary who said it was a good spot so now I'm happy about deck 7. There are others also in that hallway including the 'cheater' of the thread.

4) What category are you in and what made that your choice?
Cat 11 because I'm one person and I could get higher on the ship. Also, it's only a four night cruise and I was not in the room much last year.

5) Where are you staying the night before and why did you choose that location?
Pop Century because it's cheap and I won't use Disney buses much as I have my own car. I wanted to save points for 2 trips with the family next year, late April and Christmas week so I wanted a cheap alternative. Also, I have never stayed at Pop and always wanted to. For those who don't listen to wdwtoday podcasts, Pop Century is also known as 'Scopa Towers' because Mike Scopa, one of the contributors, always stays there. He and his wife Carol made it into the Mickey Monitor last issue.

OMG dont you people have anything to do????????/I couldnt keep up if I tried today. The town is hopping and we have already had a bad motorcycle crash today. I was hoping for a peaceful evening but its not looking good.

Happy thoughts and good wishes for all who need them and PD :wizard: for those that need it. OH and KLEENEX for Curt and his tears.

Would you all pray ,send pixie dust for all the Ford families today and the next comming months! It's really Bad!!

Definitely, it's so tough going through a transition especially when it's sprung on you. I have gone through it and more than once but I'm single and had a place to stay when it happened. With IT as my profession I expect to have it happen several more times especially when the economy takes a dive.

Anyone interested in moving to Florida, there are plenty of jobs down here. They don't pay what some other areas pay but the costs of housing are less also, at least in-land. A lot of Disney employees live in or around Lakeland/Winter Haven. If anyone has any questions, PM me.

Ok, so I just realized that I have just under 400 more posts to make it to 5,000. So, I'm going to do my part to at least get to 5,000 in the next 5 weeks. I figure that's about 11 posts a day, which is entirely possible for me. :thumbsup2

:woohoo: GO AMY!!! :woohoo:

Thanks for all the Bon Voyage's. Gail & John should be arriving at Metro Airport as I type. We will be leaving around 3pm and arriving in Orlando just in time for rush hour.

Prayers for all those with pending job losses. We just went through that earlier this year. DH went in to work one am and by noon had been told his job was being eliminated in 30 days. No forewarning, so it was a complete shock. He has since found a job, but unfortunately less pay. Because of the job change we had to cancel the Member's Cruise. Didn't think it would sound too good to ask for 2 weeks off in September for a cruise and another week off in October for a cruise. Gee, jobs sure do get in the way of having fun. We do plan on being in Orlando when you all return. Gotta hear all the great stories from those who will be staying in Orlando for the weekend after your cruise.

Well back to the final packing before dh comes home to pack the car. Stopped at Krispy Kreme already and got Gail some donuts (well some for me too!)

Carol

Sorry to hear about Joe's job. We'll miss you on the MC. Have a great time on the cruise!

I guess my wife and I have fallen behind since we called for our booking back in December, and I think if I read strait through till 10/22 I couldn't read all the posts in this thread but we have sent in our gallery info, ordered our T-shirts and even gotten the last 2 seats on Roxann's party bus. We are looking foward to meeting all you DVC pirate:

I just got off the phone with the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and booked Emily for a Coach package for the afternoon before MNSSHP on the 26th. I booked her for 2:30pm, figuring that it's a 20 minute appt and we have dinner at LTT for 4:20pm. So, I should get there JUST IN TIME since we'll have to make it over to MK from DTD. Luckily, we'll be driving and we don't have to rely on WDW transportation from DTD (which I hear is not the best).

Brooke and Jessica have an apt there too but I think it is around 1:30. We are using Disney transportation so I made their apts earlier in the day.

The dining poll is officially closed.

We now have 91 of us who are going to be linked for early seating. :cheer2: Can you say party:

Voting came in like this:

Option #1 -- 5:30 -- 1 vote - Stacy (the lone vote here ;) )
Option #2 -- 5:45 -- 7 votes - Jeff, Cheryl, Roxann, MaryJ, Erin, Steve & Robin
Option #3 -- 6:00 --11 votes - Kevin, Gail, Mary/Mark, Diana, Julie, Chris, Amy, AnnMarie, Ilene, Romandel and Curt (don't read the thread, it will look different for Curt's vote)
Option #4 -- do not care -- 5 votes - Janet, Marla, Mary (iluvdisney), Lily & Chris (conleyfamily)

So, I am going to send the paperwork off to DCL request option #3 as that's where the majority of votes were placed.

Again, I can only request this rotation, we will not know for certain where we end up until we get on the ship.

:tink: I hope this works out for our group.

Thanks for doing this Cindy. :thumbsup2

Option #3 was my second choice but I didn't want to say anything until after for fear of joingin the cheaters club. :rolleyes1

Chat in main room toinght--check!

Connie, those Crocs look like something I might be able to wear. Hmmmm

No DQ for us. DH was bored with the shooting game. Not a big player of most. Last time we went, kids had a great time; but DH was a little "green" from the roller coaster he designed. :lmao: Spent the rest of the time in a booth at the eatery upstairs. We used to realy like to go to Contemporary game room where the racing video cars were hooked up 4-across and family race. Much fun those days. DQ, not gonna happen!

But what about the cost of INSURING said housing??? Isn't that through the roof? That is, if you can GET insurance?

U TOP!!!
