Can anyone tell me when the group DVC Mickey's party is? I need to get our tickets.

Also watch the entrance to wdw after the gates I saw a policecar there Sat. on my way in.

No cruise insurance here. No Air insurance either :)

A lot of us are going to MNSSHP on Thursday the 26th.

No cruise insurance here either

Dis user name

My name is Roxann and DH's name is Ron (so for two R's) and our last name is long so I used a portion of our last name schneck. So, rsschneck was used. I did not think I would post much, ha! ha! ha! I would have created a better name and now if I change it I loose my post count and no one would know who the heck I was.

After awhile you recognize people on other threads because of their user name and it gives you a chance to say, "Hi!"

No cruise insurance for me either!! I don't know, should I, shouldn't I???? We've never bought it in the past, and we're go-with-the-flow people. So, unless something happens on the cruise, I'm not concerned about hurricanes, weather, etc. Decisions, decisions?!!??!

Is there a reason why those who are not getting the cruise insurance are not getting it? I thought it was necessary if, god forbid, you needed to be airlifted from the boat for an emergency. Does anyone know if this is covered by medical insurance?

As for my name on the boards, I was looking for any Disney name that wasn't taken and I spent about a half-hour trying many different names/combinations until finally I looked at my movie collection and found "The Fox and the Hound" and tried 'tod' but that was too short. Then, 'Copper' but that was taken so I added my lucky number of 3 and found my DIS name. There are not many references to the Fox and hound on the DIS so it's somewhat unique. I might have done better if I signed up when I first started lurking in June 2000 but I didn't want to spend a lot of time on the boards and felt if I signed up that would happen. That happened anyway with the lurking part, LOL.

We haven't bought it either --- I have the paperwork sitting right here on top of the phone, where all my important things go that need to be dealt with. We bought it last cruise and didn't need it. So, same question here --- decisions, decisions.

I didn't get insurance, but as for medical insurance covering it, I'm not 100% sure since it would be based on each individual policy, because I'm sure there are policies out there that specifically exclude air transport or international medical care. I'm guessing that if it's not specifically ridered out of your policy, and your medical situation was so dire that you needed to be airlifted off the ship that with an appeal based on medical necessity, a large portion would be covered, if not all of it.

My name is because I absolutely love Tinkerbell...and for my email it was taken, so I used tinkerbelle77, and now it has stuck. The 77 is for the year I was born in.

Thanks Diana. I called Member Services to ask if airlifting was covered and she said the same thing you did, depends on the policy. She also said we can't buy insurance through Travelguard anymore because we are already in the penalty period, 75 days or less from sailing.

I went through Insuremytrip.com and ended up getting CSA Insurance.

Here is my thread on it:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1191899&referrerid=93883&highlight=

Just purchased on August 11th....and from my understanding, we can purchase anytime up to the cruise.

Cost me $117.63 Total for the two of us and includes the hotel the night before and the hotel the day we arrive (hotel cost will only be covered if it is pre-paid and non-refundable)

Gives us full payment for trip cancellation, an additional $660 for expenses(plus full cost) per person coverage of trip Interruption, $50,000 Medical, and $250,000 Emergency Evacuation.

It also has a $25,00 Rental Car Collision/Loss, but we are driving our own, so that won't apply.

Well worth it, IMO....Hopefully, we won't need it, but should something happen, we are covered.

There are a few main things we were concerned with:

1. Hurricane....if a hurricane is hitting at the time we are supposed to leave and we are delayed or cancelled, I want coverage.

2. Critical Illness/Injury.....if something happens and we have to be airlifted to a Hospital, I wouldn't want to pay the $$$$ for that! (I've read here that someone had a bill for $45,000 for the helicopter!)

3. Our kids are not with us....if something was to happen with them, we would want to be able to immediately get home and have coverage for transportation and for the loss of the cost of our trip.

Unix: how did you figure out the points value or did you just use the cash values?

See, that's my question too. I booked 1/2 points and 1/2 cash, so I wouldn't know how to do that. I thought that only Disney's insurance will cover points.

Now that you've answered, I'll tell you a secret. :ssst:

Your name is what inspired my question. I could not for the life of me figure it out --- I thought maybe you used the metro system to commute (if that's even the name in your area). I had no idea it was a sports team.

Please don't change it, I'll never recognize you as you! :rotfl2:

Wow, what an honor to have inspired a question :cool1:

Hey, you'd always recognize me. I'd never change my avatar.

I guess that's my cue to post the list, but of course I'm out of town until Sunday and the list is on my home computer

I have a GTKYFKK Question ----

How did you decide on your DIS user id --- some kind of obvious but others aren't. So, I'm curious, how did you pick yours? Was it your first choice? Does it have any meaning?

I'm not creative so I went with easy to remember. Socks because I sell socks. And 68 because I was born in 1968. (I work for a small business that knits athletic socks.)

I'll answer as I post -- looking to keep that post count down a bit and let Amy take over the lead. :teeth:

Mine stands for C(indy), G(ary), C(ameron), W(alker)

It actually started as Jeff's user name and I just sort of took it over!!
We are Stitch Lovers in this house.
I actually cried the first time I saw Lilo & Stitch.

My screen name falls into the obvious category. I wanted Belle, but that was taken, so I just used my first name and the first initial of my last name.

Guess we're not getting insurance. I called some time ago to ask about it, and then decided we had plenty of time to make a decision. We also booked 1/2 cash and 1/2 points, and it was really only the points that I was worried about, and if as Jeff said it's too late to get insurance through Disney, I'm not going to worry about it. We didn't have insurance last time either, but that trip was an all cash trip.

Ok neither sounds nice.
I don't get how they can inject that stuff to make the veins collapse, like aren't they there for a reason.

Like I should talk with crazy stuff that has happened to me

Well, when the veins don't work, and all they do is pop out and hurt, you may as well use the millions of other veins. That's why insurance won't cover it, they consider it "cosmetic". Oh, well, that's the way it goes! I'll just have to give up on the Botox treatments! ;)

Cheryl

We paid cash, so it wasn't an issue.

We went on the Eastern in January using points and got TravelGuard through Disney. They valued it at $5 per point. My complaint was that the trip was cancelled by Disney or if I had to cancel, the money I would get wasn't the same amount as the cash cost for the same trip....it was nearly 50% less. I was willing to pay more for the insurance if it covered the cash price of the trip since I would want to rebook if there was a problem and would lose my points. They wouldn't allow me to do that. I still took the insurance....better to have something, than nothing.

I would call InsuremyTrip.com and ask them. They may already have a set price for it if they allow it....I am sure others have used points and wanted insurance.
