I think this is an interesting theory. Here is the thing. I live near Cape May, NJ so I'm not sure if I would like the Yacht and Beach Club Villas!

I'm also from the South Shore of Boston and favorite resort is YC/BC and BCV.

Amy - glad to hear that Chris is okay. A car can always be replaced but a person is another thing!

Ilene - great post! Sounds like you and your daughter Michelle had a great time! I love shopping in that area. I'll be heading to The Cliff House in Ogunquit for a conference in September. I guess I'm going to have to make a trip to the Coach Outlet!

I called MS this morning and was able to get a 1 bedroom at OKW for Dec 17-22... cancelled 2 prefered BWV studios.....

I could have opted for a 1 bedroom with boardwalk view but we wanted to stay at OKW and save 30 points for next year!

Wow, I haven't been on all day--thanks for keeping it semi-quiet so it was easy to catch up!

Ilene--sounds like you had a great weekend! I'm looking forward to some mother/daughter trips of my own in the future!

Amy--I'm so sorry to hear about the car, but thankful that Chris is ok! Now here's my story of the day--and it's a little crazy considering Chris' day.

I was heading from the Y to dancing school with the girls. I'm driving down this road that has a light with a one lane underpass, and then about 500 feet or so after that has a very very very tight two lane road that goes under a train track. It's really hard to describe but it's like they blasted through rock to build this road and keep the train track intact. Well, I'm driving my Trailblazer (so BIG car) about 35mph through this road and this red Ford Tempo (little old car) comes from the other direction. Now, two cars can fit through, I've done it a million times...but both drivers need to be able to judge how big their cars are. So I'm driving, like 35, minding my own business, and this guy crosses over his line because he couldn't judge and didn't want to hit the rock wall sides, I guess he thought I was going to get out of his way. So I took the lesser of two evils and smacked the side of my car into the rock wall. The noise was horrendous, but luckily, I only ripped the mirror off and cracked my passenger window. It happened so fast I didn't even have time to react I just thought if I hit that guy, head on at 35 in my big SUV I would have killed him in a Tempo. Luckily, we were all ok and pretty much all unphased, except Emma who yelled, "what was that noise" and then immediately saw the mirror hanging off the car and said "you smashed the car Mommy, Daddy is going to spank you!". Nice kid, huh. Mind you--we've never spanked either child, never even mentioned spanking, I've never heard her say spank before.....but I guess she relates it to big trouble! Bruce was cool about it---as it was better than him backing into our own car! :rolleyes1

I'm glad both you and Chris were ok. How scary is it to have an accident. It's never expected and always scary!

OMG - I'm glad that you guys are ok!!! It's been a weird day. My mom called tonight to tell me that it's a full moon, so maybe that's the reason for the accident.

Diana - glad you and the girls are ok. Sounds like it was a bad day for cars.

Diana -

WOW - what a stressful situation. Kids just say the darndest things dont they. Glad to hear you and the kids are fine.

Glad to hear you are ok.
From the mouths of babes, kids say the funniest and craziest things sometimes.
To be honest I'm surprised that hasn't happened to me before when I've driven thru that underpass. To many people seem to have no clue how big or small their car is or they do kind of freak out about the rock wall similar to people who drive thru work zones where they have those concrete dividers and practically end up in your lane. Plus to many people don't slow down appropiately for that portion of road.

Diana - I am so glad you and the girls are ok! How scary for sure. Did the little car dude even stop???

Glad to hear you and the girls are ok Diana.

I'm sure Bruce will never hear the end of the backing into his own car story! :rotfl:

Glad to hear no one was hurt AGAIN!

I hope this marks the end of vehicle damaging for our cruise group!

Wow, I was just wondering if it was a full moon or something.

Amy, I'm glad Chris is okay. Cars can be replaced, people can't.

Diana, sounds like you handled that situation quite well. So glad you and the girls are unharmed. (And glad you didn't get a spankin' ;))

Diana,I'm glad to hear you and the girls are safe and sound! I hope the other driver stopped! Smaller cars seem to think the bigger cars can move over! I hope he realized what you did for him! Hope you get your SUV fixed and back together soon!

My thoughts exactly! Glad everyone is okay!

I am attempting to book a shore excursion and when I get the list of times, the only guest I can select is my son. Does anyone know what I need to do to allow me to choose other guests in my party?

It also looks like the site just went down. I keep getting the following when I try to log in:
We're having a problem with our reservation system that will prevent you from booking your vacation package or retrieving your reservation right now. We're sorry for any inconvenience. Please call your travel agent or call (800) 951-3532 weekdays 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. ET or weekends 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. ET and our agents will gladly assist you.

One other thing, there were no available sittings for Palo Dinning.

Phew, Diana, so glad everyone was OK. Cars can be fixed. Isn't it weird how our kids come up with things we think they've never been exposed to. I know with my own they did that a few times and me and dh used to shake our heads and say "where did they get THAT from". Kinda freaky. Glad Bruce was cool about it, it's one of the nice things about being grown up I think, that we don't get "yelled at". I try to remember that with my kids too that their own conscience reprimands them and that many times I don't need to as it will only make them angry.
