Hi Kim!! Welcome aboard! I'm glad your DD is close to the same age as my DD!

My DD will be 7 going on 8 at cruise time. I haven't decided which kids club to put her in. Would you mind telling me what your DD thinks of the oceaneer's club? Also, what is your opinion?

Hi Vicky! I didn't see you had a teen! I'll PM you with Taylor's email address. She loves to meet others on line before the cruises. She always ends up making a couple of good friends each time. Her friends are amazed at how many kids she knows around the country & the world for that matter from our cruises. Her buddy list is long!

Kim yes my wife Jen is a Dental hygienist

she graduated in 1999 we even grabbed the screen name about a year early so it would not be gobbled up by someone else

this was on aol... and it has stuck with her....


Others and sorry if i put u on the list mistakenly
and a few names did get added after I made the list...
the important thing is u are there I will pm the others today

Jin Diesel: My daughter, (kaylin) really loved the oceaneer's club. We had some friends that went, and their son was 8 so they let her in the lab bcause she was so shy, but did not like that as much. They do more inependent things in the lab. The club was more of a party the whole time & they seem to interact more with characters. It just depends how yours is. Mine still likes to play dress up and things like that, so she liked the club better! Maybe they cold get to know each other before the cruise!

Thanks for the input, Kim!! I will PM you with my DD's email address. It will be so cute if she gets to know Kaylin over email for the next few months!

DD is somewhat shy, until she finds someone to open with. So in that respect, she may like doing things on her own in the lab. However, she is still very much into the characters and says she can't wait for the "pajama party" she saw on the DCL video. She's really friendly and VERY talkative (gets in trouble for chit-chatting in class all the time) so it could go either way. I'll start her out in oceaneers first for sure.

Jin Diesel: That would be great! She would love that! Your DD will love the pajama party. Goofy shows up & they get to decorate & keep a pillow case! Also, if she likes to dress up at all, its really cute to buy her a princess dress and let her wear it on formal night! Kaylin loved it! I also made her a princess pillowcase and took it to the service desk for all the characters to sign! That would be great to have them get to know each other! She is the same way, quiet until you get to know her!

Well, we just got back from the Eastern on 5-15 and had a marvelous time. My parents and I were on our second cruise, and this time we brought along my grandmother, uncle and great-great-aunt, who turns 93 next month!! They all had a blast. We even had a few problems (luggage that came in on a different and much later flight than we did, snotty manager at Palo), but the trip overall was fantastic. We were lucky enough to book two of the larger cat 3 suites midship that connected - and only a year out!!! I was amazed. There must have been a cancellation. Our first cruise was in May 2003, so I think it's becoming an annual tradition for us

If anyone has the means and opportunity to book a concierge suite, I highly recommend it. I'd read about spotty service on the DIS boards, but they've obviously got their act together now. I'll probably post specifics on that in a day or so.

For this past cruise, we set up a Yahoo group so that we could all e-mail each other easily. I don't know about anyone else, but I check e-mail a lot more than I check the boards. If other people are interested, I can set that up for anyone who'd like to be in touch that way.

Anyways, it'll be myself, my mother (Debbi - 50 at time of cruise), and my father (Barry - 51 at time of cruise). My name's Jen, and I'll be 24. We're currently a cat 4 gty and on the waitlist for a 1, 2, or 3 (all the suites were booked and now we're spoiled). So, I guess we'll be on Deck 8. Our fingers are crossed that a suite opens up, but we know that's unlikely.

Now I've gotta redo my signature again <sigh>.

I am so excited to see you on this board too. We are going to have so much fun between our 10 day Christmas Cruise and the 14 day PC cruise.

By the way, broke the news to my SIL this last weekend that he was in charge of picking up Cash's dog food on the way to the ship for Christmas. He said "No problem, I am a strapping young man." Of course, we can always get Cash's food for the PC cruise too if you need us to.
