Just don't eat them after midnight. Depending on what other tests you are having- you could have water after. IF you ARE NOT having a stress test- you could probably have black coffee with artificial sweetener- I'm assuming if they are going to draw the lipid panel, they will draw all of the other basic labs.

Besides, you should eat as you normally would between now & midnight- it will give the lab work a realistic picture. I love it when people crash diet for their lipid profile- let's just make the doctor think I don't have a problem....yes, we really do want to help you. Help us, help you.

Actually, I was kidding. I rarely eat after 8. Cruise being an exception. The instructions were "nothing but water or black coffee 10-12 prior to blood drawn". So since I was doing the draw at 7, I would have been o.k.

What they took blood for was -
lipid
glucose tolerance
psa
cbc
hscrp(?)

I drank that awfully sweet orange drink. You know the one that the first 2-3 sips tastes great and then it's a pain to drink the rest? ("YES, YOU HAVE TO DRINK IT ALL") I go back after 2 hours.
I have did all the test before except for the glucose tolerance. Doc said that he just wanted to see how that one went.

Elaine,

Was the blonde kissing Kermit Delilah? I can't see it well enough to be sure.... It's cool that OUR cruise is in the book!!!

Renae

Sorry Renae...since I don't know who Delilah is....I can't answer your question for sure but I would assume if she was on our crusie then it is her because most of the other special guests on our cruise are featured in the story.

I just saw this posted elsewhere on the boards...I now know that I won't be going on this ride....

A 49 year old woman became ill Tuesday afternoon, after riding M:S and was taken to Celebration Hospital where she later died. Here is the story on CBS News

Apparently the autopsy revealed that the woman suffered from high blood pressure...now I know for sure I won't be going on Mission Space as I too suffer from high blood pressure.

Well I called DCL today... my good news is that I snagged a SPH for the May repo!! :cool1: :cool1:

Now I did ask about purchasing the book. The lady did not sound hopeful, but she was going to give it to the coordinator and she would find out if it is a possibility to purchase. So there still is a small chance of getting one.

Debbie

Debbie...I'm sending some pixiedust: your way....congrats on snagging that secret porthole room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT????????????????????

Man...I should have asked at Guest Services about buying it......I was going to take it....It did say "Stateroom Copy - PLEASE Do Not Remove" ...It didn't say DO NOT Remove, just Please Do Not...but then again...that would have been wrong.....I did pick up a new "old" Stateroom Directory in Treasure Ketch....they must have replaced the books during the dry dock...so Debbie...I think it may still be onboard in May 2007 because the Magic isn't due for dry dock again until the fall of 2007.

After you caught "menu fever", I'm surprised you didn't swipe a copy of whatever wasn't bolted down! :rotfl2: I could see you now, "Hmm, I wonder how could I scrapbook this comforter?"

So sad to hear about the death on Mission:Space. I usually ride it once per trip but I really don't enjoy it that much. I got motion sickness the first time and wisened up for the next trip and took dramamine. The motion sickness didn't bother me that time but the claustrophobia did. I can't win! It's a neat ride but I'm always too worried about getting through it to really enjoy it. I'd much rather spend my Future World time on Test Track! :moped:

Well, I reached another milestone in life today. I never thought I'd see the day I would own a minivan! :rolleyes2

Not that I was ever in danger of being hip but this wipes any chances I had right out! :rotfl: It's not exactly a babe magnet...baby magnet maybe!

We bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey with most of the bells and whistles including the DVD player. We spent almost five hours in the dealership today battling it out. We really love it though.

Driving trips were just too hard in Amy's car and my truck with the car seat and all Emma's gear. We also had to take two cars if we wanted to go anywhere with friends. We definitely have room to spread out now.

I bought a stand-alone GPS earlier in the week (Scott, HELP!!!) so we can take it with us in rental cars too when we have to fly. As easily as I get lost, this will be the best toy I've ever owned! It's also comforting to know that no matter where I am, I can always locate the nearest Coldstone or Baskin Robbins!

Steve - you are going to absolutely love it more and more - we got a Nissan Murano with all the bells and whistles and the GPS already in it in December; also because of our grandbaby and taking her places and picking her up all the time.

does the Honda have the keyless ignition and door opener? That is a great feature also.

So tickled for you to get this. It won't be your last, that's for sure. You are hooked, as we are. :cheer2: :cheer2: :moped: :moped:

And you all laughed at me with my GPS :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So Steve What did ya get? AN auto mape kind?

Steve.....a mini-van :scared1: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!......no...seriously...the van sounds great.......are you thinking about driving to WDW in the fall now so we can all see your new toy???????? What colour did you get?????

Talking about milestones......It's hard to believe that a year has already passed since I sent this message.....

I'm so excited...my Mom just called me at work to tell me that the UPS man just dropped off our cruise documents!!!!!!!

Now I'm trying to figure out how to get out of work early today to go home and see them :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This is too cool since I only found out our flight info yesterday (Disney told me I had to wait 'til the 30 day mark)

I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!! 29 more days!!!!!!!

I don't know about the keyless ignition but it does have both side doors that open by the little remote doo-hickey (industry jargon). I was inside with Emma while Amy was outside looking at most of the features and test driving it. It really is her car but I'll be doing a lot of driving when we go out of town.

Scott, I don't know what an auto mape is?!? It is a Garmin StreetPilot i5. I read a lot of good reviews on it. It has all the features I want. The screen is a little small but then I guess I shouldn't be watching it while I'm driving anyway. I tested it out yesterday morning when we went to our favorite restaurant for breakfast. It worked perfectly, even here out in the boonies! Teh voice told me exactly when to make my turns.

It has a lot of points of interest already programmed in but I went online and downloaded all our favorite restaurants, Disney Stores, shopping, and hotels for the areas we will be driving to in the next couple of months. I can't wait to program in all the Anaheim and Orlando shops and dining.

Elaine, we've already ruled out driving to Disneyland this June so WDW is definitely out of the question! A seven hour drive is about our limit for not flying. I get too many tickets on long drives! Besides, I've already decided to walk and bike to WDW. Almost in Arizona!

I don't know how to describe the color. It's sort of a metalllic silvery color with a blue tint.

-steve

Steve, That is a great unit. I think Garmin is about the best out there. Auto mape, is my tech jargon for a GPS used in a car, with maps. LOL. Mine is the Map 72CS. As usual they have up graded it to the Map76XCS, with a SD card slot. Maybe if I am good Santa will bring me one of those for Christmas.

Steve...If I remember correctly I did ASK Navneet if I could keep my menu and I do believe that you asked Nav for your menu back (I think there are alot of people who have a menu collection from our Panama Canal Cruise)....I would never just "take" something without asking first if it was okay as I wouldn't want anyone (myself included) to get into trouble BUT I would LOVE a DCL breadspread....I'll have to remember to bring a bigger suitcase next time :rolleyes1 !!!!

Yesterday I actually scrapbooked all our menus from the Panama Canal cruise and it looks great. I ordered a black 12X15 scrapbook from Creative Memories and then attached the menus with heavy duty photo corners. I think I might get the cover imprinted as well, haven't decided yet.

How is everyone else's scrapbook coming for the cruise??? I just love working on my scrapbook because it brings back so many fond memories....I am dreaded the day when I have this scrapbook completed....but then again maybe by then I'll have another incredible cruise to scrapbook.

You are right, you did ask. See what you started though, our whole table ended up with a collection of menus! I didn't realize at first they would allow us to keep them. I also kept forgetting so you did me a favor by asking.

I don't know though, by the glares I saw you gave him a few nights when he reached for your menu, he might have been afraid of you by then! ;) Weren't you the only one who was able to sweet talk him into the inside of the leather-bound Lion King menu?

I still have all mine in a big stack since I haven't figured out what to do with them yet. I didn't know they made 12x15 scrapbooks! That might just be the answer. I didn't want to cut these up or modify them in any way. We are probably going by a scrapbook store out of the area next week. I'll see if they have them before checking online.

As for our progress, we still haven't started our Repo scrapbook. Amy has been able to sneak a few minutes here and there during the day to work on our May '04 Western Caribbean cruise. We are really far behind. We still have a January '05 WDW trip to do and Amy's pregnancy scrapbook. We will probably do the pregnancy scrapbook first which probably won't take too long and then start on the Repo.

Maybe we'll have to make a commitment to ourselves to finish it before our reunion. I'm sure there will be some great pictures from that trip too!

-steve

You have a good memory Steve....but it was Alain (our head server) I had to sweet talk and promise not to put on eBay....remember the running joke about everything appearing on EBay!!!!!!

I sent you a PM about something else.

I can't wait for our reunion and then to scrapbook it!!!!! I might try to have my PC scrapbook done by the trip too and maybe I'll bring it along since we'll be driving (I'm sure I'll be into Volume 3 by the time I'm done!!!)

HAPPY EASTER

Beautiful morning here. Hope everyone has a great day.

Yes Happy Easter to all.

Cold and rainy here today.

OK Just curious, Has anyone finished their scrapbook for this cruise? Lynn is doing a great job and I think she is just finished Castaway Cay. As I said Just Curious. Come to think of it she hasn't asked for any GPS numbers yet for the scrapbook. There goes all my hard work LOL :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
