WE DID IT!!!!!! Along with about 13000 folks LOL

IT WAS HOT HOT HOT!!!!!!! Red flag day. I must have leaked 400 gallons of sweat. I did see three (3) people go down during the race. And several after they finished. I would guess all heat related.

We learned a lot about how to dress, prep etc.

Oh Times, Lynn was in at 3:29:00 and I did it in 2:51:04. In looking at the final results I was about the middle of my age group and we are both happy with our results.

The Disney folks did a great job and a letter will follow with compliments.

After the race we cleaned up and went to CA and rode CA Screaming, it was still pretty hot as the thermometer on the elevator said 110, later we learned the temp had gotten up to 105, official temp that is. Went for lunch at Rain Forrest, and then hit the pool, Then back to DL for the evening to drift around and catch short lines for attractions. There is the new Honda robot at Inoventions that we will try to catch today. Crowds still light.

So yesterday it was “please keep you hand and arm inside the vehicle at all times and hang on to those finishing medals”

More later,

Congrats on the run!!! :woohoo:

We are going down to WDW on 10/26 and will be there until 11/01. We have tickets for MNSSHP on 10/31 and are excited.

All of us down there should get together atleast for dinner or drinks- or both. I think Georgie and Joe are going to be there then too??

Scott- maybe a dive somewhere or in Epcot??

Well, we returned safely from our trip to DL!

It was great to see all of our friends....I only wish we had more time to catch-up! I guess we have to go on another cruise...:wizard: :rolleyes1

Quincy finished #1 in her 200 yard dash!

Actually every kids race bib had #1, sounds good though, huh?? She ran around the lake in California Adventure.

As Scott said, it was SOOOOO hot! Michael ran the half and was completely beat by the end! The girls and I loved cheering everyone on!:cheer2: We stood at the 3.5 mile mark...which was the exit of the Magic Kingdom and saw Michael, Lynn, Alex & Carolyn, Shari & Staci and Linda.

I want to Congratulate everyone again!! Great job!

Big hugs,:grouphug:
Laurie

Not a bad idea Celeste, we also have MNSSHP tickets for 10/31.

Let us know. Doubt if we could get Dive Quest group rate with this short of notice. There is a DVC Discount.

We are truly blessed to have met so many great folks here, lucky us.

Scott...I couldn't agree more....my Mom and I were talking about all the great people we met on the 14 night cruise...and all the lasting friendships we have made....the Panama Canal cruise was definitely a cruise of a lifetime and a cruise that has changed our lives forever.....like who would have thought 2 years ago that this shy, conservative Canadian Government employee would now be sporting not one, not two but five Disney tattoos!!!!!

Celeste, I made a mistake, we have MNSSHP on 10/23, DEMA show starts 1031.

But we should still get together for dinner or something while you are there. We will have Scott's nephew there for a school band event from the 25th until sometime on the 27th, but after that, we could get together. Let us know if you have a car and when you are going for race packet pickup, that is the one thing we may have some problems doing as we will not have a vehicle. Lynn

Wow Scott usually gets the car!

Wow Scott usually gets the car!

Usually just for Cruise Trips, other WDW DVC stays, get a car for the first day, shop, drop off car and then ME to MCO. :thumbsup2

Then again in January we will have a car for the whole week, but I may rethink that.

Georgie- When are you coming down???

Hi Celeste!

CONGRATS to all the DL marathoners!!!

We will be coming into WDW on the 26th right after a half day at work. After we land at the airport, we will be driving straight to the MK for the MNSSHP party that night. I'll have to check, but I think we have ressies at LTT sometime.:confused3

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I usually know my schedule much better, but have been wiped out with a bad bug and have been in bed on antibiotics. It will be GREAT seeing everyone. We'll be the slowpokes, but will be having fun while walking. Hope they don't close the park before we finish our 4 miles!!!
:rotfl2:

Don't worry Georgie the time allowance is rather generous. Hope you are feeling better. I got a cruddy cold somehow, cutting into the workouts, today is a rest day anyway.

Hey everybody!!!

I'm baacckkkk! Actually I've always been here, just haven't been on the boards for a while. I do have an excuse though... our NEW GRANDSON has been born! Joshua David Hale is adorable, and between him and our granddaughter Ellana, I've ignored pretty much everything else in life. So, now I'll go back a few pages and read up on your activities lately.

Congrats Leslie and Joe! I know it's belated, but I just saw it so it's new to me...lol. Everybody's right about the boppie... both my DDIL's have it and don't know how anybody ever lived without it. I remember my arms going numb while my babies slept....lol. I had forgotten how wonderful babies' necks smell, and how they can grab your heart with their tiny little hands. They are addicting, and it's so good to hand them back to Mommy or Daddy when they don't smell so good anymore!
