Animators Palate dinner menu, 5/18/05. Look under 'soups and salads'

So glad we were in Parrot Cay that night because we had "Essence of Lyches, Passion Fruit, Guava served with Lime Sherbert".

Lyches = a sweet fleshy fruit with a thin spiny skin

Leeches = any freshwater or terrestial annelid worm of the class Hirudinea with suckers at both ends

Two very different things. Guess Disney should have proof read their menus for each night.

I did find other type-o's- one even in Palo- I just can't remember what they are currently. I even remember one in the elevators about either the gold or jem stones---maybe they hope you've had enough to drink that you can't spell either.

Alright where is the hot chocolate on deck 9 club this AM?

I am proof reading my paper- there will be no leeches here.

All the menus that night said essence of leeches orginally. Then someone caught it and they had to rush a reprint of all the menus. This picture is from outside Animator's Palate. We "obtained" an orginal menu whihc if Jeff woul get off his tush he would scan (haven't forgotten!).

Hi all- Yes, I'm alive :teeth: . I've been traumatized by reality :earseek: . I totally miss having someone else come up with the dinner menu each night, making the food, serving it to me, and then cleaning up afterwards!

Leslie, I'm glad to hear you're not too "broken," but take it easy. We need you to get better so you can cruise with us again!

I miss you all too! And as Juli said, thanks a ton to all of you for making my parents honorary DISboard members. They really had a great time on the crusie and it was in large part due to all of you.

And speaking of typos, how many of you caught the misspelling of Mazatlan on the special commemorative Xmas ornament? Peter pointed it out to me. Hilarious and sad all at the same time, considering it was made in the USA.

Okay, back to work for me... :badpc:

Hey Kara, Tell your folks that I believe the Curacao mystery fish may be a Bat Fish.

Off to work for me.

It was so nasty I could have washed it down with a mug of Beverly to get the taste out of my mouth! (side note - do you know how hard it is to try to type "mouth" and not have my fingers type "mouse"?)

So you let me try something with cheese in it did you? I didn't catch that! I thought you guys were my friends...oh, wait...we're family now! No wonder!

It's okay. I'm not going to tell you what was really in those camembert fritters! :teeth:

-steve

"Proud witness to FritterFest '05"

FritterFest '05! I am so proud to be a charter member! 39 fritters for 7 people! And Elaine and I each ate 9 - count 'em NINE - fritters! :earseek:

Ha ha Steve - you ate cheese! Your family tricked you! Gotcha! Woo hoo! I bet a mug of Beverly would taste FANTASTIC after that disgusting dessert. Hee hee!

A bat fish? Huh, never heard of that one. I'll have to see if I can look up a pic of that. Oooh! That reminds me, I need to pick up our pictures from the dive in Curacao.

Thanks Scott!

Hello everyone :flower:

I feel like noone understands me ... everyone back home asks how the trip went, but I am afraid to get started on really telling them as it would go one for several hours (just the highlights) ... so I say the "it was great, we had the best time" type of comment ... but it just makes me want to almost cry inside because all I think is that I want to get right back on board RIGHT NOW!! Please tell me I am not alone.

We rebooked onboard for September 2006 Double Dip at Castaway Cay ... is anyone else joining us for that one?? It does make me feel a bit better knowing we have another cruise to look forward to ... but NEXT YEAR ... how will I wait that long!! :earseek:

Karen :wave2:

You are not the only one going through withdrawl. I can sympathize 100%. I cruised with a friend and had to leave my DH at home. He couldn't take that much time off of work. It's hard when no one around you knows what it was like to be on the Magic, going through the Panama Canal (for the first time ever) and meeting all of the great people that I was so lucky to have met. Being able to say "Hi" to someone you know just around ever corner of the ship. It's just not the same back here in Chicago.

We booked another cruise while on the ship for September 16th of 2006. Is this the cruise that you booked as well? Our's is a double dip at Castaway Cay too. It would be fun to cruise with a fellow Disney Magic Panama Canal Cruise Alumni. :cool1:

I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this cruise so special for all of us. Especially to Debbie, for the Fish Extenders. :Pinkbounc What would we have done without them?? They made the hallways so colorful! I have mine hanging up at home now. It looks so out of place there...

Also, I wanted to send a special thank you to Grorgie and Joe for being such great passengers on our 4X4 excursion in Curacao. Even in the soaking wet back seat, they still managed to keep their spirits up and make the wet, cloudy day a great one. They were an inspiration to me everyday. :wave2:

Thanks again to everyone who sent Happy Birthday wishes. It was the best Birthday ever. I wish I could book Palo for every birthday!

WooHoo!! :cheer2:

Yes, that is the next cruise DH and I will be taking (we are going to send our children DS10, DD12, DD13 to Colorado for a week of fun with GG/GM. :flower: This is a huge step for this very overprotective Mom, but they are at great ages for a week of adventure and I am looking forward to a fun and exciting week on the Magic to celebrate our 15yr anniversary. :love2:

How fun it will be to have another PC alumni!!

I have just joined up the 9/16/06 thread this past week. There are already 14 registered and a few who are already starting to plan some fun. Hope to see you there soon!!

Chicagopinpals...

Joe + I had a GREAT time on the 4 X 4 Curacao excursion! Who would have thought driving through the rain and the mud could have been so much FUN! You did a GREAT job driving through the bumps. We would do it all again!!!

Wasn't it wonderful when the sun broke through the clouds! And at the end we could take the top down! :sunny: If you have one... we would love the picture of the 4 of us in front of our muddy Jeep! What super memories! :goodvibes

Withdrawl symptoms big time here in NJ!!! :guilty:

I have a few pictures that I'd like to send to your guys. We ended up with over 4000 pictures from this trip. Maybe I can send you some in the mail. Can you PM me with your address and I can start getting that together.

Sorry to hear about all of your misfortunes since getting off the ship. That just goes to show, we should have stayed on the Magic :flower:
I broke my toe a few years ago (dropped a keyboard on it) and it took a little while to get better. Hang in there!

I miss the little wipe off message boards. I might have to stick one on my office door, but I'm afraid of the messages I might receive on them. :rotfl2:
