Good Morning All.

I have been meaning to post some pics from our trip to GC in 2001 for those of you who might be curious. We went in 2001 and stayed in a park view room (overlooking Paradise Pier area).
A day or two before the trip my Hubby was laid off, so we really needed a distraction. A few weeks before we left I called the GC and tried to arrange to have one of the DCA teddy bears and cookies in our room when we arrived. They didn't seem to have any system in place to take care of this type of request but took my credit card and told me they would attempt something.
When we arrived we found the following....

The cookies were wonderful and we enjoyed them on our balcony with the milk. I don't recall the final cost but it was less than I thought. I think they just charged me cost of the 1 bear I requested and the cost of the milk and cookies. I offered to return the second bear or pay for it, but since it was a mistake they gave it to us. Hubby was suprised. I was once again impressed with how well Disney does things.

Linda,

YES!!! I LOVE THE HATS   I want to put Mickey Ears on them. My DH may not wear a grass skirt, but I KNOW I can get him to wear one of those (especially if I add ears to it!) :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Now, I don't know how I'll pack them, but I'll worry about that later (yes I'm a procrastinator!!! Just took down the Christmas tree early this morning... HA! After all, I was doing button and t-shirt designs for the cruise which is FAR more important!)

I've done the get-into-bed and knock-the-full-glass-of-sticky-juice off the night stand routine too! :rotfl2: Type A personality... you bet!!!

Thanks! I will take a look at my Oriental Catalog and see if I have enough things to make up an order this afternoon and get back to you, in case you can add them to your order.

How FUN that will be.

Wow that Looks awesome thanks for sharing...

We booked thru Dvc and think we got a standard view and hope we get taken care of ,, As for the view
it will probably be a parking lot.. LOL

But love the idea.. thanks whom did you speak to ?

Peter

Kara sorry about the non-communicative boss….I, too, hope you can use this weekend to “study up” on anything else you want to get across in your meeting. I got rid of my “less-than-helpful” boss a few years ago….let’s just say he REALLY lacked in “people skills”!!! Life is much better with a boss that understands what its like be a “regular Joe”!!

Also, Kara, be glad your water heater is giving you signs of impending doom….I got a GREAT Bday present a few years ago… came home to a very warm, very HUMID house….so much for a nice dinner out that night…seem to recall it was Taco John’s on the way home from Sears……

Leslie your hubby knows what a “midriff” is?!? Wow…..if Keith ever used that term, I’d fall over…. :faint:

On the subject of the other-than-private-room Palo ressies, these are the people I have so far:

Kellib36- -Keith, Kelli and Etta
Ashleydoc--Ashley and Karen
Juli--Juli & Tony, Lou & Fred Ryner
bill3540—2—Liz and Bill
Nyccajun--Carol, Don, Barb, Margaret, Beth
Mickey&JoshNut--Elaine and Mom

I’m going to set a cutoff date of Wednesday, March 9 so we can get our info to DCL just before the 60 day date. Please PM me with your name and ressie number if you are interested in joining us.

I ordered Keith a grass skirt....looks like you'll have another member of the group!!!

Danica, Thanks for the photos, pretty kewl.

Linda will pass on the hats as it looks like we will have just too much to pack, but then again attach mouse ears and you might have a winner, just got the Oriental Trading CO Cat.

Hi guys...

I've had a couple of people ask if they can order more patches. And I thought I'd throw it out to everyone. You can order more patches, for $1.80 each, as long as I get your payment by Friday, March 11th.

Please pm me if you want to add to your order, or place a new order.

Thanks,
Kendra

Hey Kendra,
Can you post a picture of the patch for those who have joined us recently?
Thanks!

Linda,

I think I am finally getting in.

Thanks to all of you that have sent a welcome to Larry and I. We are having problems with our computers here at our RV Resort so that is why I have been so long in thanking you. We are anxious for the cruise and we are looking forward to meeting you all.

Someone asked how our weather is here in Arizona. We have had lots of rain this year. This is our third year as "SNOWBIRDS" and we usually don't have rain here. We are in Brenda, out of Quartzsite. Our summer home is in Boise, ID.

The last few days have been beautiful. We even got in a few games of miniature golf.

Thanks again for your welcome.

Nancy

Danica: Great pics..
Brought back memories of our stay at the GC a couple years back. This time we are staying at Paradise Pier simply because we've never stayed there.

Kelli... yes, surprisingly he knows what a midriff is... not that he has one... I'd call it more a beer belly...:rotfl2: and seeing that it's as white as his legs... we'd really all be blinded if that was showing....:rotfl: :rotfl:

Now for todays excitement: DH has torn the roof and ceiling out of our breakfast area and I have to pray that it does not rain again. It rained overnight for the first time in a couple of months and we woke up this morning to a large puddle in the breakfast room and a hugh stain on the ceiling... what fun. Although I would love to have a skylight in there... this is not how I wanted it to happen. Ah the joys of home ownership. DH being a do it yourself kind of guy, starts tearing out the sheet rock, insulation etc before I can even wake up properly..... we made the early run to Home Depot and I'm seeing daylight thru my kitchen ceiling now....Aaaagggghhhhhhh!!!:earseek: Will keep you posted.

I'm sure I've missed a few new people, I'm sorry! This hasn't been a good week at work, and this list is exploding again.... :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

Anyway, the reason I'm writing now is to tell Nancy hi :wave2: and to say, you're having the same trouble my folks are!! They are snowbirds also, and just left Pahrump, NV, heading south!! It seems every park has a different setup, and my folks, being "not so computer savvy" have trouble each place they go. It seems to take them about a week until I hear from them on the computer each time they move!!! :goodvibes In addition to being "not so computer savvy", my Dad is also "not so patient"!! :teeth: Good luck with your computer problems!

I'm not packing, but I have a few bags started in the basement....the scrapbooking grab bag, little things I don't want to forget..a sleep mask, ear plugs (can you see a pattern developing?!?!?), a pirate money clip I bought for Keith, etc. pirate:

My sil dragged me to Ross last night, and while I hate the whole concept of Ross, I did find a couple cute spandex type long black skirts, and saw some luggage that was marked down quite a bit. I may take Keith over there to check out the neon purple suitcase.....too bad it was only a single one....kinda had my name on it!!! :cloud9:

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!! Kelli

Was going to stay and go to Price is Right again but they are not taping on the Monday, the 30th if we did, then we wouldn't come home until Wednesday and didn't want to stay that much longer. We were just there in October and did that already 5 times.

For those of you going to the Price is Right, it is so much fun BUT it is too long. We were in line from Sunday night at midnight until 7 am and then didn't leave the studio until 5:30 pm. It is a very long process, as they interview everyone in the audience and a lot of sitting and waiting for the whole process to be over with.

It is better to request the tickets in writing before and they send them to you, in case anyone is wanting to go. There are also tickets in the office at the "Farmer's Market" next door - but not always for the day of or next immediate day.

kay
Thank you, Kay. That is exactly why I am collecting names of people who want to go. There are special instructions for groups and the normal waiting is bypassed. I am forming a group so that we all qualify for the "group" deal. Yes, They are not taping on the holiday, which means that only those hanging around until the first part of June will catch the first taping after the holiday...I am still adding names to the list.

For those who want to go to the Price is Right - it is so much fun - but a little tiring and long

If you have a ticket to "stand in line" before you get your ticket at the gate to get to the show, you have to keep both tickets when they give you a 1/2 break and go back for line up. If you don't keep both tickets, you will have a little trouble with some of the pages. So you get a break from 7 am to abaout 7:45 am and then you are there until the end.

The number they assign you to as you get your ticket a 7 am is the number you sit in the audience. #1 sits on the first row to the right looking from the stage. There are four five seats there and then the 4 contestant seats and then they continue sitting by numbers.

I would LOVE LOVE TO STAY and go again but the 16 days I will be gone will be plenty for me this time. I have been 5 times and never chosen. :sad1:

Being a group, most probably someone would be chosen :grouphug:

Everyone in the audience is briefly interiewed and it goes sorta fast.
Don't wear any shirts that refer to advertising other than The Price is Right or a shirt like pick me or such

If anyone wants to know anything about the show or a hotel across the street that is good, let me know. Everytime we go out, we stay at THE FARMER'S DAUGHTER, directly across the street where the line up starts and directly next to the Farmer's Market.

I'll be so excited  if someone were to win the showcase.

That would be AWESOME.
Kay

Going to be away from computer until 8 pm tonight - have to go to daughter's house for supper and play

Well we had a nice little cloudburst a short while ago... sure was fun... never had it rain in the kitchen before...:umbrella: By the time DH got the tarp over the big hole it stopped of course. :rolleyes2 Just love those south FL sun showers! Now it is back to seeing the sky :sunny: and praying the rain holds off until he can get the plywood down. What fun! :crazy2: I guess I should be thankful he can do this :love2: ...we'd probably wait a month for a roofer! I jokingly suggested installing a skylight while he was at it... whew.. THAT didn't go over well.....:rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:
Ahhhh the stories he'll have to tell.....

I have no idea!
It was shortly after the hotel opened and I just called the main GC reservation number. I might have been transfered to the Guest Services desk or given a direct number? I think I worked with Guest Services to find out what to do with our extra bear? Sorry its a bit fuzzy...that why I have to take pictures ;)

Ok, what a small world! It's rare to find ANYONE outside of Las Vegas that has ever even HEARD of Pahrump. My parents, who are going on the cruise with us, live in Pahrump. What a coincidence! :rotfl:

Back to lurking.... :teeth:
