Hi everyone

Just got back from a great day at Disneyland. Met up with Kara (karaeric) and Sheila (AZ Pirates) and her DH Kerry. Had a great lunch. I will post a picture at some point if I can figure out how to do it.

As far as sailaway gifts. I just wanted to let everyone know that Kara, Sheila and I are working on name badges and lanyards for everyone. I plan to use the list of names on Jeff's webpage for the name badges. So, if you are not on that list, please send the updates to Jeff.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Ken

I am sooooo jealous that you were at DL today! I actually scrapbooked 8 pages today (not that you care, but Shari might!) and I actually burned 12 CD's of the pictures from the Christmas Cruise. Well.............actually I burned 24 because I couldn't get all 643 pictures on one CD and I had already gone through 50 times and deleted out duplicates and all that stuff.
So, hopefully, I'll get them in the mail tomorrow! If not, defintely Tuesday. Jamie was going to make a little label for them, but she didn't get it finished.

Besides that, it snowed today, and I balanced my checkbook! Wow, that's a miracle in itself!

Goodnight all. Talk to you tomorrow!

We are brand new to the boards, but have found everything very informative. Thank you to all who keep the information fresh.

We had no idea about the Space Shuttle launch. I have mixed emotions about that. Will be cool to see it if it does launch. The traffic could get a bit dicey.

We are looking forward to sailing and to meeting others on this board.

Kevin&Randall,

Welcome to the boards! Wow, Winter Garen... right down the street from us! My recommendations regarding the traffic; let someone else do the driving! LOL!

Have fun,

Just reporting my great Formal Night finds on eBay for floor length dresses for DDs (10,11) and tuxedos for DS (9) and DH. Personally, I am hoping to fit into some of the dresses I already have in my closet, ;) but there were fabulous deals in both teenie and full-figured sizes. We are going to be quite the fancy dresser-uppers for the Formal Night pictures!! :groom: :cutie: We even have some things lined up for Pirate Night ... what fun!! If we haven't signed up yet, please add us to the Sail-Away party. We will have surprises to share with everyone.

I'm so sorry you're still feeling poorly. I was out of work for 2 weeks just before Christmas through to New Years. It was awful. I hope you can get some rest in between your 12 hour days...

I will see if I can put together a spreadsheet of the different events and participants and get it to you... (will send you a PM on this) You and Jeff have done SO MUCH ALREADY!!!

Thanks, and feel better soon!

Back to work! :badpc:

Wow Linda: Congratulations on such a productive day. Ours wasn't any where near as productive but it was fun. I'm just about done with Day 8 on the Christmas cruise and the scrapbook won't fit many more pages before it won't close flat. Question is, do I just continue and have a book that's overstuffed or be more selective about what I put in for the last few days and all those miscellaneous picturs I was going to put in the back.

OK - Super Bowl is Sunday. I don't really care who plays unless the 49ers are in it. But we do have a big blow out at my house so that's the priority for the week - need to clean, shop, organize, etc. I also figured out our swap but it's going to take some time so I'll work on those this week too. Hope everyone has a great week.

Just wanted to add my thanks to Jen and Jeff. You guys are awesome!!!

Found a site to give me a pirate name I actually liked (you wouldn't believe some of the ones I found!) I am now Saucy Jenny Thunder!

Can someone tell me how to insert a picture into a post? Help me Mr. Wizard!! :wizard:

Hi Linda: Didn't use to have so many pictures but Ken got a new digital that he really likes. Up side - we got lots of great pictures but I never got to hold the camera. Down side - we got over 850 pictures and now I have too many to chose from. He's always telling me I don't have to use them all but . . . why not!!!

Happy scrapping.

Well, that's less than half of what we took. There is almost another 850 almost on its way to you on CD from some of what we did on the 10 day!

Okay, I need to get 1099's out in the mail today! Guess I better get to work!

DCL has repeatedly said that NO one will be allowed into the port to check in prior to 10:30 AM. THat was to include any vehicles or people on foot. Has anybody actually gotten in before 10:30? Do they actually have guards stationed at the front entrance? I am going by limo and they suggest no earlier than 10:30.
Bill
Bill- I'm guessing someone has answered you by now, but here is my experience. Yes, I got there at about 8:50 am on the morning of my departure. We came in by limo too. Boy, our poor limo driver caught a lot of flack from the security folks at the port! They really won't let people get dropped off too early. In fact, we finally we allowed to get dropped off, but then we got yelled at about every 15 minutes until the "time" they thought drop-off should start - which is really at 9:30 or so. To be safe, you may want to have them drop you off between 9:45 and 10. They don't start accepting luggage until then, and you won't be let into the terminal until at least 10.

Hope this helps your planning! :flower:

JenKatt: Thanks for all the ideas for sailaway gifts.

Chet (DH) and I will be at sailaway.

The shuttle launch the day we board the Magic....how cool is that. When DH hears this, he's probably going to buy that new mini camcorder he wants.

Has DCL made a change to the flow of traffic entering the terminal area to drop off luggage? Karaeric, Seaulater, Videogal are you aware of any changes?

What are your thoughts....Is traffic going to be a problem for those of us staying at the port the night before? We have a rental car. Is it a better idea to return the rental car and take the shuttle with all our luggage?
Again, I'm sure this has been answered by now, but yes, they have implemented the changes. You now get dropped off at a long curb with a portico. They have porters there to check your luggage, then you go into the terminal to check yourself in.

Yes, I would definitely drop the rental car first, then go to the port for check-in. That would go double if there is a shuttle launch that day. You wouldn't want to get stuck not being able to get back in time.

For those of you arriving that day, I would STRONLY recommend taking the DCL transportation. They will not hold the ship's departure if you are arriving on your own, but they will not send the ship out if there are still buses coming in. On the 10-day, we had 2 DCL buses arrive and dump a bunch of passengers and luggage at about 4pm! Now that's just too close for comfort for me, but they made it!

You guys are 49er fans?!? Of course they are my favorite team, but I'm from the Bay Area and have lived here all my life!

Ken and Shari, I just cannot tell you enough how much we appreciated being there with you guys yesterday! We just had the best time! And our ride on ToT was the PERFECT way to cap the day. Now the drive home... :moped: that took about 6hrs, including a stop for dinner at In-n-Out. Yum!
