Asked the Feb. 19 Magic cruise report thread what the Castaway Club gift was. It is still the beach towel and 2 pins.

I had heard a rumor that the gift had changed, but guess not. Hopefully it will be something new before May 14!

Linda

P.S. Got my Mickey phones, but that's another story! ::MickeyMo

Come on Linda, give the future Mickey phone owners a clue!!!!! Anything wrong? ::MickeyMo

Here's my Motorola story.................and I'm sticking to it!!!!

After 1 hour and 10 minutes on the telephone with those idiots, I finally was able to purchase four Mickey phones (I wanted 2 princess phones, but they were sold out an hour before). I gave the guy and the supervisor an earful and filed a formal complaint after trying for two days to get the order in. The guy kept giving me stupid excuses like it's the end of the month and we are downloading all the new product, that's why you can't get in. And "we had 700 princess phones an hour ago, but they are all gone now." Then he didn't want to give me free shipping because "it's only an internet thing" and of course I said "do you think I would be calling you if I could get through to your site?". Then he wouldn't take the coupon and gave me the song and dance about how the phones sell for $59.99 and they are only giving me that price because I insisted because the 2 for $15 was an internet only deal. That's when I told him I wanted to file a formal complaint after he completed my order. I told him "Do you really think I am going to believe that when you are pulling them out of the same warehouse that you are getting them out of for the internet? And do you really think I would have wasted two days of my time trying to place an order on the internet only to wait to order from you now that I've been on the phone for over an hour?

They kept apologizing, but it's too late. I am writing a formal letter of complaint. He shouldn't have gotten me started. My blood pressure still hasn't gone down since last night. (must be the redhead in me).

I finally completed my order at 7:30 p.m. on the phone, and finally went home. He said the phones will be here Thursday. I told him I hoped their shipping department provided more customer service than obviously their website or telephone ordering employees could!

(P.S. I checked the website again this afternoon, still couldn't get any progress. They must still be downloading all that "new product."

Linda

Yay Linda! Good for you. And I hope the company provides you with a good response to your complaint. You certainly deserve it!

Naahhh, I had time for a flash of brilliance...(actually, a mere twinkle) the other day...NONE of my support group for this cruise...ya, ya...travel agent, DCL special services coordinator...NO ONE remembered that Castaway Cay is a Bahamian island and requires a special import permit for Cash as if we were going to Nassau....whew! Gotta placate the bureaucrats....

OOO, B O T T O M ! ! ! !

Lynda... sounds like you have even more to worry about when traveling than the rest of us can even imagine. Does Cash need a passport too??

Linda: give em heck... the whole phone thing was just chaos no matter which way you look at it... considering all the time put in online, phone etc... the phones were $$$ if you break it down in cost per manhour... LOL

Is someone keeping a list somewhere of who is doing what excursion...:rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh Linda, I am so sorry and feel so bad. It's almost like I am at fault. I did get the shipping confirmation email with a tracking number and the phones are expected to arrive on March 7th. Maybe once the CEO gets your letter, you might get a refund or something like that for all your trouble?

Well our snow here in Connecticut just sucked big time. Still snowing this morning when I went in to work, and flurries on and off all day. I can not wait to move to Florida!

Have a great night!
Robin

Linda,

You go girl!! :badpc: :badpc: Give 'em hell!

It takes quite a bit to get me going like that...but, once I do, watch out! I think it is the redhead thing (temper, temper!)

Last year we came back from a trip to WDW and Amer. Airlines had cut DD carseat, when I went to baggage claim to ask to file a claim, I was treated so bad (the guy basically ignored me and then proceeded to talk down to me) I called customer service and made a big stink...ended up getting a $200 travel voucher. Sometimes a temper can pay off! Hope it pays off for you too!

That is too funny!!! I was thinking the same thing. Actually, if everyone wants to pm me, I could be the official excursion list maker! :teeth: :sunny:

I seem to book my excursions one at a time... got castaway cay, pv, acuapulco, and now need to look at cabo.

Linda,

That is insane! Sorry to hear of the issue & hope I didn't get you fired up again. ;) Letters are great. I like talking with the Top  . This way they can hear your words and answer your questions of them.

"Well Mr/Ms MotorMolda, do you want me to tell every living creature I know how poorly you treat your customers?"
"Why... um.... no I don't"
"Could you provide one positive item during this transaction I could pass on to my friends?"
" <silence>"

Go get 'em IF it does not bring additional stress to you.

Enjoy the phones when they arrive. If you call, be sure to call on the Mickey phone!!! :rotfl2:

Ooo, another List...YAYYYYYY...Someone mentioned it long ago...I think that there were several posts in a row that looked like possible input for a list of who was doing what and when but it sorta petered out...kinda like someone said to themselves...HEY, this is my vacation, I'm not gonna live in somebody elses lap the whole time...and that was the end of it...

As for Cash...It depends on the country being visited. Antigua was the most expensive $300 in special rabies tests plus $100 or so for international and other health permits PLUS an inspection in person when the ship docked and a pseudo-official request for another $15.00 for a previously unheard of permit to get off the ship...That was the inspector who was afraid to come near Cash because he is so big...as though a six-pack of dachsunds is going to do me any good...In St. Maarten the cabbie charged for him as though he was a person. In Aruba ( November cruise) there was a 7:00 A.M. meeting with the quarantine officers who turned up two hours late. DCL has its own set of gates to run through...First they mail you the official DCL policy on service dogs that contains some interesting requirements that no one in their right mind would expect of a service dog....No passport, though. Just his rigid harness, his leather harness and his vest, two bowls and dishwashing stuff, body brush, food, bottled water, toys, bed, leashes, life vest, booties, harness repair kit, saddlebags, two detachable Lynda bags (purses), first aid kit, document wallet, and two collars. Most of this stuff he has to carry himself since the airlines do not give any special allowances for service dog traveling equipment or food (ten to 20 pounds depending on the length of the trip......There goes my underwear again... I really, really do appreciate Kevin & Randall bringing the dog food to the ship! Whew!

That's MY story and we're sticking to it....another redhead front and center...

Seaulater: Wow!!! That's some phone story! My user (client) at work was on vacation for the past few days... maybe she was moonlighting at Motorola! Are you sure it wasn't her you spoke to on the phones? :rotfl2:

I get worked up every day I have to speak with her. Every day I go in determined to keep things on an even keel, but somehow, she always manages to Rock the boat!

Thanks for taking time to share... it let's all of us see that others also go through frustrating times!

I sure hope you get those phones! :goodvibes

MY ZAZZLE SAGA... now I'm reading my order will arrive on March 7th. The "shirt" left California on the 28th. I did order 4 shirts. I am wondering which one of the 4 they will be sending? (sigh) :confused3 I'm thinking I should have stuck with my original plan of doing transfers and ironing the design on!!! :rotfl:

Pixie Dust for a weary DISer, please! :wizard:

Scott... what's the word for Wednesday? We had an Eeyore Monday, a Tigerrific Tuesday...

Sheesh!! I hope you can write all that extra $$$$$ off as a medical expense or something. It doesn't seem right that you have to pay all that extra to be able to enjoy a vacation!

I just love the lists..... SandraLee ... do you realize what you're getting into.... speak now..it's not too late to bail...LOL

After reading all of these strories, I can provide something positive. I'm positive the website is a horrible mess. :badpc: I'm glad I just bought new phones and don't need any more.

Y'all have far more patience than I do. I would have just given up by now!

Hi Bill,
Yes we did. About 3 inches. Roads were bad last night at 6. Lee wanted to go to the bookstore to check out some of our stops. Passed a nasty slideoff.

Don't know about your van, but my 91 accord window on the driver's side is always a pain in weather like this. :confused3

It has been very cold with snow on and off for the last 2 weeks although the snow has not settled much. This is very unusual for London England for this time of year.Normally spring is on the way by now.
