2005 summer rates

I have been waiting for the rest of May 2005 and heard that it will be the beginning of January. I don't know if they'll release June at that time as well or if you'll have to wait until February. I don't know for sure but that's my best guess. Maybe someone else knows better.

ME TOO!!!! ME TOO!!!

A cruise for 2005 was on my christmas list but 'Santa' wasn't able to fulfill the request because Disney was slow. I am waiting patiently for this too.

I did check a couple other cruise lines and they too have not released any dates passed April 2005.

I had the TA call DCL to see if she could get more info than me. She was told that the Wonder's schedule would be release in Jan but Magic would not be finalized until Spring.

There has been some speculations that it may move to California for Disneyland's 50th celebration and that it would travel out of southern CA. This is all speculations. I am hoping it will still sail out of Port Canaveral in 2005.

Please Mr Santa Bring me a 7 day cruise on the Magic.

:scared:

We just did the 12/20 Magic cruise. During the Castaway Club reception, the Captain said that we should "look for new itineraries in 2005, whole new areas". Since the thought of DL land and sea sounds great, we went and asked the DCL booking agent on board if the rumors were true. She told me that it was indeed a rumor but that she couldn't confirm it. So I think DCL will be changing things for 2005

I don't know whether to be excited or nervous!! I just want a 7 day out of Port Canaveral in May 2005. I'm hoping that's not too much to ask. I guess we should start hearing more details soon.

I feel the same way luckymommy. Ive been waiting forever to book a 7 day Western Disney Cruise for my 10th anniversary in 7/05. From what Im hearing it doesnt look like its going to happen. :(

I can't wait for the rest of the summer to be announced! And, I do hope there are new itineraries. Actually, I don't really care where it leaves. I just want to be there!

CamColt, we'll be celebrating our 10 yr anniversary in 2005 too!
I'm just going crazy trying to figure out how they would continue 3, 4 and 7 day sailings with one ship on each coast, assuming that they do move the Magic to the west coast. I would think they would continue out of Port Canaveral due to the land and sea packages, that beautiful terminal, leases, etc.

If they truly have only one ship in Port Canaveral maybe they'll be trying to do one week with 3 and 4 nights then one week for the 7 night, just alternating between the two weeks.

If worst comes to worst I'll just book a back to back Wonder and not get off the ship except for Castaway Cay. I'm not giving up hope yet so don't you CamColt! Hopefully as soon as people start hearing more they'll post and keep us up to date.

I know a lot of people are hoping for Alaskan or West Coast cruises, but I'm going to be selfish here and hope that we can still get 7-day Caribbean cruises out of Port Canaveral. I can't afford to fly to the west coast right now! :(

Gee, I have a 4 night already booked in 2005 for September, but if they do some exciting 7 night I may just have to switch!

Many of us, although we are the minority, are "left coasters". It is difficult, but not impossible to book a 7 day out of Florida, but at great emotional and financial expense. There is always the worry that a flight will be cancelled or delayed, dooming a cruise.

I, for one, would welcome left coast repositionaing of one of DCL's ships. Either Alaska (which I have done and loved on both Princess and Celebirty) or the Mexican Rivierra would be great.

While I would love to see a California cruise, I just found this information on Cruise News: ( http://www.cruise-news.com/ )

"The new routings will be offered during two August cruises, two September trips, one October departure, and a December holiday cruise. All schedules will continue to leave from Disney's art deco terminal in Port Canaveral and will include a day at the Castaway Cay private island..."

I truly understand how those of you on the east coast would want both ships to stay put but, you could also look at us "westcoasters" point of view. You guys have had the Magic and Wonder since 1997-1998 but now we would love to have the chance to sail without having to add the high price of flying to our budgets. When we went on our first sailing in May we had to pay an extra $800 just to get to Port Canaveral. Our next sailing is in Feb 2005 and it looks like we'll be paying at least $900 for our plane tickets this time. That is a lot of extra money that needs to be budgeted. Disneyland resort is becoming quite a large tourist meca and I'm sure if they put a ship over here they would have no problens keeping it full. I know Mexico and Alaska have been mentioned but, they could also do 10 day Hawaiian sailings if they wanted to. Wouldn't the Magic in Hawaii be wonderful! I have also been told by DCLthat they are indeed trying to build 2 new ships they are just waiting for the price of the euroto drop. Maybe these ships will be on the west coast and they can leave the Magic and Wonder where they are. Who knows I'll take either, I would just love the chance to sail without having to add another $900 to the bill

Two more ships would be the perfect solution to the 'East Coast vs West Coast' problem.

All of us have good reasons to sail for them from either coast. I would like them to continue to sail from Port Canaveral. I would not want to fly to CA for a cruise for the same reason that Makaylee and Miss Eeyore stated. I guess we just need to be patience until the next 2 ships are built.

Your idea of an Hawaiian cruise would be very interesting to me, Makaylee. I can see Lilo and Stitch on that one.

It is very hard to be patience until DCL gets everything set.

westjones- How were you able to book for September 2005? Are dates available that far out for the Wonder cruises?

makaylee, I don't think anyone is saying that they don't want the west coast to have a ship, it's just that we want to keep one on the east coast. I don't think Dis'ers are that mean! ;) I for one know it's quite an expense without the cross country airfare!

No one knows for sure at this point what will happen. We can only hope that whatever changes they make everyone will have some level of satisfaction. I agree that more ships would definitely help the situation but that could be a whole other thread.

Like I said in my last post, my opinion is based on completely selfish reasons.

Yes, the dates for the Wonder 3 & 4 day cruises for the rest of 2005 are open (but not on the website yet, at least last I looked). I booked through Dreams Unlimited and was able to get a Secret Porthole Room for the September 18, 2005 Four Night Cruise.

The 7 Night cruises for May - December, 2005 are not available for booking yet, but the 3 & 4 day ones just opened a couple of weeks ago. If you are wanting a 3 or 4 Night cruise and want one of those SPRs in 2005, call your TA or Disney Direct and book it! They go fast! That is why we booked so far in advance.
