2005 MVMCP Questions

We're DVC members, and have to make our reservations for December 2005 now. I have a few questions about the Christmas Party.

1. When are the MVMCP dates announced?

2. For purposes of making DVC reservations now, can I assume that the last MVMCP will be on December 15th? (This is two Thursdays before Christmas, which is what they did this past Christmas.)

3. Will they let you in at 4 o'clock even if you don't have a regular pass for that day? (Somebody posted about not getting in at 4, but I couldn't tell if that was because they were late arriving, or if it was because they weren't let in.)

4. How far in advance can you purchase tickets?

The last MVMCP in 2004 was Dec 17, Friday. I would bet this year's will be Dec 16, Friday or Dec 18, Sunday. They definitely will not miss that last Friday, it always sells out.

You can get in after 4:00 with just your MVMCP ticket and get a wristband.

You can buy them when they go on sale in May but keep in mind they are non-refundable. Nights don't start selling out until the fall. By the fall these boards will be have posts by people who bought tickets and had their plans changed and are trying to sell them (which is not allowed on this board and are removed). We always go Tuesday night and buy them when we get to the resort (you can buy up to the day before and get the advance purchase discount). Friday nights usually all sellout.

This doesn't answer your questions, but I was really disappointed in this past year's party. I thought it was a waste of nearly $150.00 for our family of 4.

We were able to ride Buzz Lightyear three times in a row, see one stage show, get cookies and hot chocolate, stood in line for a photo, and saw part of a parade over the tops of other people's heads before our 10 year old announced that "it's fun, but I'm tired, and it's cold (very cold and windy that night) and I'm not having fun anymore - can we go back to the hotel?" which we did.

It was crowded and cold and a waste of money. Won't do it again. Our day would have been better spent elsewhere.
