Hi all! Wanted to just drop a note that I spoke with Karyn via e-mail today. She still cannot connect. The good news is that she is finishing up with all the cleaning needed to put the house on the market. She and her daughter leave for Florida on Wednesday (and will meet Randy down there). They are looking at colleges in Tampa, then Thursday and Friday at Beach Club Villas to do the Food and Wine festival. I think they had back on Sunday.

Hopefully once she gets back home she can figure out the computer problems :D No worries this week as she's going to Disney World!

I just read this on the regular forum and wanted to make other aware that have the SPH rooms booked:

Released SPH for 12/28/04 special Western cruise
We had 5020 and 5520 booked but according to the CM on the Magic last week there is a very good chance the rooms will be completely blocked (windows) with equipment for a special New Year's Eve show.

We LOVED the porthole window and the price difference in getting a guaranteed Cat 9 on Deck 2 versus a possibly completely blocked SPH room wasn't worth it; we want the view!

Just wanted to let others know in case they were interested! My friend emailed DU with her cancellation earlier today and I did tonight.

jilljill-
We are "waitlisted" for any sph room...I wonder if I'll get a call? Maybe I'll just call them first thing in the morning and see what's up!
Thanks for the heads up!

Oops, just noticed that your cancellation is for the next weeks' cruise....
Duh.
I better go to bed!

Hey Jill, I'm in worse shape than you are - I didn't even notice this was for the sailing AFTER the 10 day
Sorry to alarm everyone.

We sail in only 400 days. gaRry are you packed yet? :D

Almost forgot - Friday night - cruise chat. Who's going to be there?

I'm pretty sure I will be there this week - maybe Mark as well. Who else? Lisa? gaRry? Come on and join us in chat - great fun.

I hope everyone is recovering well from their surgeries. And Mary, here's hoping your new job will turn out even better than your last. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that life doesn't interfere with our cruising in the next year!

We're supposed to be in the Holiday spirit here, having our second cold day of the season. It's 41 outside. DH and I had a
"date" last night, dinner and the ballet! DD had two roles in the Moscow ballet Nutcracker. They use local kids for the younger roles. I missed most of her second time on stage, because we were on the aisle, and had to keep standing for women coming back late from the restroom. Sigh.

We're getting ready for a Christmas cruise on Celebrity this year. Going to see the Panama canal! We're on an older, smaller ship, should be interesting. Wonder what DD will think of it, she wasn't sure she even wanted to go until we assured her she will get to scuba dive several times. She loves DCL!

Diana

Diana,

I always wanted to do a Panama Canal cruise - how exciting!

What ship are you going to be on. Where else do you go?

Mark and I will be in WDW from Dec 2-6 (we come home on the 7th). Looking for a little Disney fix. ::yes::

You'll have to tell us what special things they do on your cruise for the holidays and then we can compare next year when we all sail!

Not much new on the work front. Taking it day by day but definately looking at finding something new and more stable. Thanks to everyone for their good wishes!

Good morning to all. I hope everyone had a great week.
Diana,
We are going on Celebrity for Februrary winter recess- February 13-23, 2004. We are going on a Southern Caribbean route on the Summit out of Ft. Lauderdale. We have never been on Celebrity and we are childless for this cruise. We have been together for 10 years in April so we are celebrating a little early. We met through a personal add in a local Long Island newspaper. My DH placed the add. I would be intrested to hear how Celebrity is??? Which ship are you going on??

Mary, Keep looking something will turn up. Have a great time in WDW.

We will be home this Thanksgiiving. Our families are all out of town so we will be celebrating with close friends. What is everyone doing this Thanksgiving???

Have agreat weekend. Talk to you all soon. Gail1771:earsgirl:

Mary,
DD & I will be at WDW 12/3-8. We are going to the Doll & Teddy Bear Event that will be held at Epcot. So if you go to Epcot on Fri. or Sat. look out for all the crazy people with their bears and dolls in strollers. We aren't that crazy - we ship them home to keep them safe, they can't talk for themselves if they get lost.
We are staying off-site, about 10 minutes away. I can't wait for warm weather - this wind and cold has got to go. :sunny:

The wrist is getting a little better each day. I am being released back to work on 12/29. I don't have to work Christmas Eve this year - I'm very excited about that one.

Hope everyone else is healing quickly.

Have a great weekend.

We're staying at the Contemporary this time. Are you doing MVMCP? We're doing it on the 4th and I know a lot of other DIS'ers are as well.

Hope we get to run into you while we're both down there. What can you tell me about the Doll/Teddy Bear show? I love bears!

 Hi everyone! We are back from Bonaire, and I've been playing catch up with work and laundry & such. Still haven't had time to read all of the posts, and get to know everyone.
Sorry to hear about the bad times, and surguries and all. Here's hoping things are looking better each day!

I have a question that I'm not sure has already been asked and answered about our cruise itinerary......I see on DCL's website that it shows us arriving in Antigua at 7:30 a.m. but not debarking onto Antigua until 4:30 p.m.!? The same is noted for St. Thomas also. Is this a typo, or do we really sit on the ship for 9 hours, wishing we were touring a beautiful new place???
Anyone?
Talk to you later,
Stacey

Not sure of the exact words, but it means you get off the ship at 7:30, then back on the ship at 4:30. So those 8 or 9 hours are at the beautiful place, then you're back on for us to leave.

Hope that helps!

We survived the campout this weekend. It wasn't really that bad after all. The wind was pretty tough Saturday morning, but it died down about noon, and night time temps hovered around 40. No one got hurt or lost (for more than 10 minutes anyway), and with 75 people, that's not too bad!

Have a great week, all!

I'm sure those are just typo's. As Lisa said that is when the ship departs. I think on those two ports they should read depart at 4:30 instead of disembark at 4:30. They have the right wording on the other ports just not on that one.

Lisa sounds like you had fun camping!

How was everyone else's weekend?

Hope Karyn at fun at the Food & Wine festival - also hope she gets her connection back soon.

Happy Monday everyone!

Look's like we will be coming along. Me, DH, DS-6, DD-3. Building gingerbread houses, "snow" in the Atrium, visit with Santa Goofy. We couldn't resist!::MickeyMo

disneyme - Welcome aboard.
If you send Mary a PM, WDWLVR, who posted above you, she can bring you up to speed on the newsletter that she loving prepares each and every month for this wonderful, or should I say 'magic'al bunch of cruisers.

Mary, I haven't forgotten about you. I'm looking into doing MVMCP for the 4th too. Not too sure if it will be overload for us doing all the D&TB stuff too. You know getting up early to stand in line with a bunch of adults to spend money on furry critters and fancy dolls can be stressful. Especially when you have to map out your route in the room to get the purchases you want. Friday and Saturday is only open to event purchasers and then Sunday will be the public day for items left from the limited edition sale. I am a very big bear collector - started out with many Steiff's now collect mostly Merrythought. It's a bad habit, but they are fun to own.

We've been quiet on this thread. It keeps moving down the page!

Welcome to Disneyme! It's a great group of folks going on this trip.

What are everyone's plans for Thanksgiving? My mom is coming up Wednesday from Florida and we're going to a nice restaurant for the meal. For the 8 of the 9 Thanksgivings since we moved away from our extended family, we've chosen to go out to a nice restaurant since the first Thanksgiving took me FOREVER to clean out the fridge. It just isn't worth cooking that much for 2 adults (since my kids don't eat hardly anything!)

I've also made reservations for DM, DD and myself at an English Tea room for high tea on Saturday. If I can't have Palo High Tea, at least I'll feel special!

Take care. Lisa

What a coincidence!....I started collecting Steiff bears years and years ago...Of course, I couldn't have just bears.....
I think some of my babies will visit Gramma EBAY to help finance my three (YIKES!!!) WDW/DCL vacations next year.....Goodbye blue bear collection........sniff...:(

Lynda,
I sold I (one) Steiff bear 3 years ago and the proceeds from the sale paid for a 7 day cruise for the 3 of us. I did buy the bear to sell at some point in time and the time came and the price was right, so back to Germany it went. It was a rather large bear that was a limited edition of 25.
I might have to sell more before we move next summer.
