We will be at BWV from 1st Nov until 8th Nov and then on the cruise from 9th -12th Nov and then at Portoino Bay for 3 nights so it looks as though we will just miss each other. Please keep in touch though as it would be great to get to know each other before the xmas cruise.

Gail: I have re-sent the e-mail, hope it arrives! In short I cannot recommend DVC enough, it was the best thing we ever did! Any specific questions feel free to ask! We now own 250pts at BWV and 50 at Vero Beach..........now considering Saratoga!!!!!

HI all

wow have the posts been adding up. I was 3 pages behind. I look forwrd to meeting everyone in Chicago next weekend. I pm'd WDWLVR with the route we will be on. GarRy will not be with me on the trip. He is driving down Monday with our horse & that of a friend and then flying home. The friend will fly down and drive horses back which works for both of us. (cheap flight too -39.00 one way)

Gail glad to hear you made it safely back form your trip , just sorry to hear DD was ill.

TDKLisa, I/we look forward to meeting your in-laws. Garry worked with a Marine that was a one of the "Chosin frozen", your FIL may know him, Mike Simonelli, from Monroe Michigan. Garry said there were not too many survivors. It would be an honor to meet another survivor.

Well time to get busy. Lots to do today. Oh the "joy" of getting ready for a horse show!!

The Disney Cruise show on the travel channel starts in just a few minutes. That and my scrapbooks will have to hold me over until we cruise next Christmas

How I miss the "joys"of getting ready for a horse show! I lost my mare after 25 years this year to founder and I'm surprised how much I miss even the simple things like grooming and the stress of shows.
Sigh, maybe someday I'll be ready to start again!

Christmas - yes we're looking at an early afternoon (say 1:30) frame. If you can't make that one I'm sure we'll be getting together some other time between now and our sailing date

Jill what breed did you show? We have 7 half arabians, this weekend is the National Show Horse Finals. (Arabian/Saddlebred crossbreed). Mo is our only horse going this weekend.

Time to get to grandma's for the September birthday clelbration. My DF, DM, DS, myself, and nephew have birthdays this month.

When are all your Sept. b'days in the family? Mine is today. One down and one more to go before the cruise. I so wish it was this year

I had two half arabs also, mother and daughter. In two years I lost one to sand colic and the other to cronic founder. I had my mare since I was in junior high. I showed mainly in halter and in competitive distance trail riding. Someday when my boys are a little older and I'm not so tied up in their activities, I hope to start again.

Ok! The first meet for the Christmas 2004 Cruise will be this Sunday in the Chicago area. We will be meeting at the Wildfire restaurant in the Oakbrook Center Mall at about 1 pm (time subject to change). We're a small group - Mary and Mark, Randy and I, Vicki and DD and maybe my DD as well. I promise, Mary and I will make plans to have another meet in the Fall in the Schaumburg area for the rest of our Chicago family! Please let either of us know some possible dates! Any of you visiting our area in Oct/Nov that would want to join us?

If any plans have changed, and anyone else can join us on Sunday please contact me!

I am really looking forward to this!

I forgot to tell you about a shop/factory in Key West that my mom and I really like, it is the Kino Sandal Co., aka Key West Sandal Co. It is very close to the port area on a small side street. The sandals range in price from $7.- $20. I have a pair that I bought in '82 that I still wear. I will try and get the address for you.

Mary! Thanks for the bump! Also, Mary, I'd like to say that I so appreciate your kindness and thoughtfullness for each post you make. I see you all over the boards talking about so many things and I always know I'll find well thought out responses and always get information that I didn't have! I'm so thrilled we're going to get to meet this weekend!

There are so many people going on the Christmas cruise that are already becoming special to me and I think this is going to be the basis of some lifelong friendships! Wow. Vicki - I haven't heard back from you, but we want to meed you and your DD!

Gail, and the rest of you, are you sure you can't head on out to Chi Town this weekend???

I'm going thru a very tough time with the job situation and this board is my lifeline right now! An update on that front I did have a very good interview yesterday with a followup tomorrow - it would be doing something I wasn't ever planning on doing - but the pay is good and I would learn new skills. Anyone w/ any thoughts on this feel free to pm me - or email at kabuli1@aol.com - you can always find me there - it's my AIM name as well. I'm going to go clean out me pm box!

Thanks Karyn, that's very kind. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys on Sunday. These boards are wonderful for getting to meet and know people before we cruise with them. It really helped in making the DVC Member Cruise special to us.

I have also felt that being a good member of a community (like the DIS) means sharing with others. So if I can help someone (especially someone) new with my experience I am more than happy to.

I have a few new ideas for the web page I want to run past you and Vicki on Sunday!
