Wow it seems like everyone is going on vacation. Am I going to be here posting by myself?

Hopefully Karyn will start posting again once she gets back from her trip and moved.

Good Morning All!!

5 inches of snow yesterday!!!! The roads are a mess and school is on a 2 hour delay. (I guess that is better than no school at all - at least for me) And it is snowing again if you can believe it.:crazy2:

Vicki - that's great about getting into a smaller size. But, that's not right what you said about the snow staying in Iowa. That's where I live and we have enough already. They are actually advising people not to travel on I-80 between Des Moines & Iowa City because the roads are so bad.

Mary - thanks for fixing that for me.

Barb - hope you have a great time on your trip.

garRy - since Vicki is thinking bad thoughts about us poor souls in Iowa (she wants to keep all the snow in Iowa!) I am rescinding my invite to our Cat 1 if you make the April 10 cruise.  I'm just kidding you know you are always welcome if you make the cruise.::yes::

Everyone have a good day.

LeiLani

LeiLani - seems you got the worst of the snow. We only ended up with about 2 inches. It kept going north of us all day, but then I saw the major line covering your whole state. We got snow overnight, but not as much as they were saying. Here's to warmer temps and sun to melt that snow away.:sunny:

Happy Friday all! Lynda, great news about the verandah! I can't imagine how much of a pain that would have been! You can't be the first person who's had this issue. They really ought to have some sort of process which is workable. Is this something that one of the big organizations like Canine Companions or the Seeing eye foundation could tackle for the industry as a whole? Kind of like they addressed service dogs coverage under ADA?

Vicki, congratulations on your size change! I've been looking at clearance suits too. But I have several that are in my size right now, and I'm not going to jinx my luck by buying the next size down. I figure the suits will be on clearance just before we leave, and I can be sure to get the right size then.

Barb, have a great trip to Ireland. Doesn't it rain a lot over there in the winter? Sounds like someone's just trying to get you acclimated for the trip (lol!). I too would love to visit Ireland someday. It's about the only place overseas I have a deep desire to see.

Our weather here is rain, hovering just above freezing. Another 2 hour delay on schools, cause the northern part of the county is below freezing. Drawback to a countywide school system is that when weather affects one school, it gets them all!

Looking forward to chat tonight! Maybe just me and Mary since everyone seems to be in the travelling mode right now, huh?

Barb...guess I should have told you, the family name was O'Driscoll...but they spelled it with a "gh" or something in there. I was only kidding, anyway. There is a castle, but you don't have to look for it....just have a WONDERFUL time!

HEIGH HO everyone...in to work for a few, then off to Vegas.

Have a safe a fun weekend.

Stacey

Stacey, I was just going to ask for directions to Stacey's ancestor's castle and see what kind of looks I got :teeth:
Have a great time in Vegas - win lots of money.

I just heard from Karyn. They are having a great time and are just about ready to go to CC for the day. Karyn's going to go parasailing and Randy's going to take pictures from deck 10. It is a bit cloudy and they may see a bit of rain.

gaRry, she has not found your friends :(

Mary,

I'll be here posting.... Working but posting....

Especially since Stacey hasn't invited me to go to LV with her

It's raining here - just missed the ice that hit south of us. My PA couldn't make it in so I've had the whole ER to myself...

Hope everybody stays safe....

Take care!

Mary, I checked my ressie again. The rooms as 2571 and 2573. Sorry for the mistake. I knew we were right next to the library. Dain Bread this week!

wow took a few days off from reading and had a ton to catch up on!!!!

Gail- Also and an educator ( former teacher and currently a teachers assistant) I agree with your decision to pull out your daughter. I would be doing the same if we weren't moving to GA where they get out earlier for the holidays.

Leilani- My father grew up in Cedar Falls. I still have Aunt and Uncle that live there. This is the first time I have met ( or will meet) anyone from there. I visited once many years ago when I was young.

Mary- I will try to get you a picture by the weekend. You've done a great job!

Stacey- Viva Las Vegas!! We were there Labor day weekend and I can't wait to go back, hopefully we will fit a trip in sometime this year.

Congrats on all the posts and also to those of you losing weight. I seem to be going in the opposite direction, which I need to change quickly. Can't wait until Spring!!

TGIF everyone!!!

Tina

Mary, really enjoying the pics. I think ours is a little fuzzy, I'm still trying to figure out my new digital camera. We are in cabin 5624, by the way.

Not sure we will be able to take any vacations before the cruise. I have reservations at BCV in August for DD and I, but my job is sort of in flux right now, and I may be retiring this year. That means a LOT less $$$ coming in. Not what I had planned at all. I'll be hanging on to the money for this cruise for dear life! Oh, we may be going to Las Vegas in late July for a dance competition Nationals, but I don't really consider that a vaca. Sorry, just don't like Vegas!

Any Scots on this board? My Sinclair family ancestry goes directly back to Scotland and then it's a dead end. All those guys back then gave their firstborn sons their father's name. Makes it reallly confusing, since so many have the same names.

Diana

Tina - Cedar Falls is a small town so I just may know your Aunt & Uncle. DH is a doctor so he runs into a lot of people in town. We used to live in Virginia also. DH was in the Navy for 10 years and we spent 5 of those at Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

Mary - Sorry I didn't catch this last time, but we have changed cabins also. We are now in cabin #8602. Still keeping our fingers crossed for the Walt suite.::yes::

Barb - are you going to be in Mayo at all? That's where my family is from. No castle in our family, but if you are in Mayo think of me!

Lisa, Not sure if we'll be in chat tonight. If I can get out of work on time we have a "date" planned for dinner and a movie. If plans fall through I may be there. We'll see.

Off to the airport....anyone who wants to meet me there is more than welcome!! SEE..I invited ALL of you!
Thanks for the good luck wishes...hope I do win a little, can pay for the next cruise!

jilljill....I may be famous, but I'm not THAT famous! (Ireland) Or maybe I'm infamous??

See ya!!!!

Mary, we aren't going that far north. We will just have to plan another trip to do the northern part of the country.

LeiLani - we were in 8600 on our first cruise. It had a huge verandah - 8602 is even larger. The only thing I didn't like is that the verandah is metal - and you can't see out of it when you're sitting.

Still trying to get a Cat. 3 on our 4 day cruise in April (we leave the day after you) and on the 10 day (of course - if I knew we were going to party in Walt's suite - might have done the 7day cruise instead. . :smooth: ). Seems to be a long process. Hopefully once the date gets closer we'll get "the call"........

Stacey - thanks for the invite... :teeth: Too bad I'm working nights on Sat and Sun - or I might've just shown up at your door...

Happy afternoon everyone. It went from snow to freezing rain to rain. Yuck. Everyone be careful out there tonight. I am so excitied that I have been working out 3 times a week and tennis once a week and I finally fit back into my jeans today.Yeah. I have only lost 1 pound but I am toning up. I hope to be in size 8 when we cruise in Deceber with you all. I had put on weight last year and could not fit into my jeans or in some of my clothes. I was also not in the best shape. Many years ago - about 15 years exactly I use to Play lacroose (attack wing) and Field Hockey. We both love to play and watch Tennis. We both play doubles. DH loves Baseball and he collects signed bats and BB cards. He also has so so many BB cards. He has been doing it since he was a child. We are Yankee and Met fans. Anyway back to the subject I am on a roll to get in shape and use the DCL gym while on board. DD loves to Dance and Drama. Enough said on that subject. I am just so psyched to wear the clothes that I have in my closet.

Stacey have a great time in Vegas.

Jill have a great time in Ireland.

Mary, Did you get the family picture. If not I will send you a different one. I was thinking about the one I sent and I do not like the sun was in our eyes. I am getting to critical I guess.I have not been on the Photo Gallery today.

Talk to you all later. I am on my way with DH to buy him a new suit for our cruise next week. He has not bought a new suit for 10 years as long as we have been together. I can't believe we waited till the last moment!!! It is not like me at all. I usually have everything done way in advance. If you are traveling tonight be careful out there. The roads are terrible in NY and I am sure they are everywhere else. Fondly, Gail::MinnieMo

Hey Guys,
Checkign in from school. You guys see my post about website. Any ideas? I would love build a new site for somthing like DCL but want somthing people would visit. Would you guys like having our own forums just for us? I thought it would be a cool thing. I love doing that stuff. Let me know what you think.
TTYL,
Matt

DOC you think you have it bad do 24 hrs its really nice. no calls just hang out at the station. only on some days, today had ice rescue training naturaly my suit had holes in it the water was very COLD.
just a fast post hope to be in chat later

gaRry

Virgil - I know those suites are great. We had 8102 on our cruise last March. The verandah was so big we really did not mind the metal. We are still hoping for one of the larger Cat 3's that have a murphy bed so the girls do not have to sleep together, but if that is the only way I can have a Cat 3 I will take it. I think we are going to spoiled with our Cat 1 in April. I'm not sure what we are going to do after that. DH still at the hospital, who knows when he will get home. At least with the ER shift you generally have set hours, although that can sometimes change. DH leaves early in the morning and I never know when he will walk in the door.
