Are you pulling too tightly? You have to have a pretty loose grip on everything. Very relaxed. If it's taut the rows will get smaller and smaller.

???
That's probably the problem. Try weaving the incoming yarn loosely through your fingers. That will help regulate the tension, and prevent the problem.

And Yeah, I'm happy to lead a yarn type class on our "craft sea day"! I'll bring my crochet stuff, and just use the student's knitting needles.

GOOD THURSDAY MORNING EVERYONE!!!

Very nice post Stacey.

It has been a great 18 months and I can't wait to meet all my new DIS friends.

This time next week I will be doing last minute packing and getting the house ready so we can go. We fly out at about 5:30pm so at least I will have that day to do last minute things.

FOR EVERYONE GOING TO MVMCP ON THE 17TH!

I wanted to post this now, because I know we have some cruisers leaving for WDW soon.

I was thinking we could set up two meeting times. Our family is eating at LTT at 4:30 and I know there are several others dinning around that time also. So, I figures we could have a mini-meet at LTT around 4:30. Then I was thinking we could all meet up to watch Wishes at 9:15pm. A place suggested to me was the old Swan Boat landing(not sure where that is so I'll have to figure it out). I thought we could meet at 8:30 or 8:45 and then stay there to watch Wishes. What does everyone think?

If you are going to MVMCP and would like my cell phone number so we can meet up just PM me.

So I talked to DCL President today on email. He actually has on the disney wonder for business. Rough business trip.

Anyways he said 2 formal nights, and possibily 1 semi formail. He was not 100%. Plenty of suprises he claims he cant even tell me. LOL But he said he and his family are for sure coming. So excited, I cant wait to meet him in person and have dinner with them one night. He says he cant wait until the cruise. Also he says we will all enjoy it.

Night,
Matt
Whew, glad I threw in my semi formal outfit from our first cruise! It's a sparkly top with velvet slacks. As I was walking in to work this morning, I started second guessing myself about the shoes I'm taking. Okay DISers, opinions please.

I have a pair of sparkly black flip flops (don't want to get that thong discussion started again!) and a pair of brown leather sandals. My plan was that for dinners that I wore sundresses or capri's, I'd wear the leather sandals, for the dressier dinners, I'd wear the flip flops. My formal is a long, full dress, so no one will see my shoes. I've got wide legged black pants to wear for the planned semi-formal. Again, should hide most of my shoes. The velvet pants are more close to the ankle though.

I do have a pair of dressy black sandals with 1" heels. I've worn them on cruises before. But DH is only about 1/2 inch taller than me, so I almost never wear heels. Should I take the heels, or just go with the flip flops?

Thanks!!!!

September 2003: We had just returned from our second cruise on the Wonder, and I was reading the boards and saw a post titled "DCL's First Ever 10 Night Christmas Cruise", started by someone named Ohiominnie.
At the time, I felt grateful to have been on the two Disney cruises that we did go on, and I didn't even DARE dream of 10 whole nights on the Magic. But those words written by Ohiominnie would not quit playing through my head.

I booked the cruise and started reading the thread. All of these people that I was reading about already seemed to know eachother so well that I didn't think a "Newbie" like me would ever fit in.
There was some guy named Goose, who couldn't type and talked about screw-top wine, yet his job was to save other people's lives. There was a serious-sounding M.D. from W.V., there was a nice lady who I learned loved dancing and corked wine. There was someone called jilljill, whose real name was neither Jill, nor Jill. And, there was a lady who appeared to love Walt Disney World, and seemed to be the glue that held it all together, the voice of sanity in a totally crazy group.

A group who welcomed me with open arms.

A group who now, over a year later, has laughed together, cried together, prayed for eachother, yelled at eachother, shared secrets, shared good times and bad, and yet have remained together and welcomed many, many more "Newbies" with open arms.

I consider our group to be some of the closest friends that I will ever have. Anything that happens in my life, my first thought is "I can't wait to tell the group".

I believe that we have already "embarked" on our journey. We did that over a year ago.
Next week we will reach our destination. A trip that I know I will never forget.
And I owe it all to those open arms.
Thank you all, so very much.

I know my "mates" in the nursing home will someday thank you, too, when I say "Did I ever tell you about going on DCL's First Ever 10 Night Christmas Cruise?"

FOR THE FOUR THOUSANDTH TIME!!!!

The "can't sleep" bug hasn't bitten me yet, but it probably will next week. I can't believe how close it's getting. As we were waiting for the bus this morning, I told the kids "In one week, we'll be getting ready to go to the Magic Kingdom!" I'm sure all the cars next to us wondered what on earth was going on in our van!

Vicki/GaRry, are you going to put out a list of who's getting shirts mailed, and who is supposed to arrange a pick up time with GarRy? I can see the potention for serious confusion on this. Also, we need to be reminded as to the cost per shirt, so that we can pay you for them! (Okay, I need to be reminded. There's probably lots of people who wrote that little thing down so they know already, but anyhow!!!)

Thanks again!

Good Morning,

We had another night of severe weather, maybe not quite as bad as tuesday but weather radio went of several times for Tornado watch and Severe Thunder Storm Warning. Power went of and off but only was 5 minutes at a time. Hope everyone else had a good sleep. I got no tests to day luckily! PRetty soon will be at 8 days!

I find it a lot easier to do a theme for each page. The lab sounds like a great theme for her to use. Are you giving her a camera to take with her?

I always use a book with page protectors and I put each days navigator in there as well.

I've got 3 more pages that I'm going to have Mark scan when he gets a chance. These were done using embellishements and photos.

I'll let you guys know when these are up.

I'm an avid scrapbooker as well. Use the 12 x 12 Creative memories albums. What I did with the navagators was color copy the front page of each day at 50% to include in the scrapbook and then put them all in a sleeve in the back. Our 8 day land/sea vacation took about 50 pages to scrapbook. I'm kind of worried that I'll have to do this one in two albums!

I love your pages Mary. I would have never known they were done on the computer.

I bring a plastic box with me to collect all the Navigators and anything else that I think I want to use in the scrapbook. I save everything. Brochures from places we visit (like the butterfly museum in Key West), our KTTW cards, our dining tickets, everything.

Another great idea! I'll plan on brining one of those plastic pocket accordian file folders that has the two circle closers and a string to store my scrapbook goodies. My brain isn't processing very well this morning. Perhaps it is directly related to amount of caffine??

What Mary brings is more like an extra thick sheet protector than a plastic box, per se. More like what you're bringing. It's about maybe an inch or two thick, hinged to open book-like, and sized to hold standard sheet paper.

Today is our oldest DD's birthday. :cake: We were on the Wonder for her birthday last year. She says she is 36...but wait, that can't be because just last year she was, uh like 15 or 16. :confused3

Happy Birthday to your DD Angie.......
