Good Evening Everyone!

Had a semi productive day today. Went shopping and got a few more things. Not real happy with my choices, but since I can't fit in what I have ,it will have to do. There is no one to blame but myself!

Inlaws presents bought, wrapped, boxed and ready to be shipped to Texas tomorrow.

Okay confession time....
I have been going to a tanning salon. I have pretty bad vericose veins and my legs just look a little better tanned. I think my fat in general looks better tan than white. I know its probably not the best thing for my skin, but I am just doing a very minimal amount, not obsessive or anything.
I'm from the south and living in VA the past 5 1/2 years is killing. At least we don't have snow yet!

Off to eat dinner, which I actually even cooked too! (Only enchiladas, not sea bass or anything)

Well, my DH is leaving for Nevada in the morning I think. His best friend called and said his son was killed in a mine accident when an 8 ton bucket fell on him while they were doing a welding job. My DH said that he was killed instantly and the other 2 guys, one is alive in the hospital and the other lived 20 minutes before passing on.

Mike was 30 and has a wife and two young children. And at Christmas, couldn't happen at a worse time of year.

But all you have to cook for dinner is Chilean Sea Bass or Group St. Jacques. If we were having Chilean Sea Bass or Group St. Jacques, we'd also have to cook a DIFFERENT meal for the kids. That gets annoying.

The grass is always greener....

The issue for us is the cost. Tonight's Sea Bass was $18 per pound. I have to buy enough for 3-4 people. Not just 2. It starts to add up so I have to cut back on cooking what I really enjoy.

That would be my main point, I understand the luxury I have not cooking two seperate meals, but at times it would be nice so I could eat better more often.

When I was little (and my parents struggled more to make ends meet) I remember my dad cooking steaks on the grill. But only enough for my mom and himself--and it wasn't often at all. For the kids he cooked hot dogs...but he CALLED them "tube steaks." Ah, what you believe when you're young and stupid.

And if we behaved, we would stop somewhere during that vacation and each get a small soft serve ice cream cone.

I agree. Why didn't I think of that when I had a chance.

Scary thought all the people falling(or jumping) off cruise ships lately.

Yes I always wonder why people choose to end it all on cruises.

Why not stay at home to do the deed.
Don't disrupt 3000 or so HAPPY people's vacations.

I'm sure the ship was late for its next Port of Call.

Mark and I talked about that once - how growing up going to McDonalds was a major event that maybe we did once or twice a year!

Very much a simplier time.

I started it as a joke 8 years ago when Matt was only 6. I told him I was buy the old Jeep for him and just testing it out for 8 years.

Well, the time is starting to draw near and I'm going to really miss the Jeep.

I'll have to think of another excuse to buy a toy.

Sounds like my family growing up. We would eat bread and sugar sandwiches beside the road. And then they wondered why we were wild in the car?

I ordered the Spode Christmas tree the other day from Shirley. I also ordered some flowers for the 3 ladies (DW, DD and DD)...

OK - some advice needed - DW birthday is on 12/24. I was planning on ordering the birthday room stuff from DCL (Shirley suggested this was best). Do you think I should have it put in the room on the 23rd so that it's there when we return from St. Lucia.... or have them put it in the room on the 24th. I'm leaning to the 24th....We're on Antigua that day - and don't have anything planned......

I hope that we all can somehow be a part of some sort of celebration for her.

I've been playing the Disney Cruise Line whistle here at work periodically today. Making my coworkers crazy. One of my coworkers took his family on the Wonder last Dec, but he gets to leave for Afghanistan Dec 18 this year. We were bantering today and we decided he will at least have the best ride to the airport as his brother, who owns a limo service, just bought a Hummer limo that he will take him in. Oh, by the way, prayers and pixie dust for him and his family please.

I'm off to the mother ship to buy more bubble wrap for packing. Guess what I'm packing tonight?

Disney Cruise Line Redies for the Holidays - The Disney Magic and Wonder are all decked out for the holidays, to include 25 Christmas trees, 25,000 lights, 1,260 feet of garland and 3,600 yards of ribbon...wow! To top it off there is a three-deck tall Christmas tree in the atrium lobby, complete with falling snow.

Lots of things going on a Castaway too! They have a holiday-themed overlay including greetings from Mr. and Mrs. Snowman (complete with shell noses and tropical shirts), a 40-foot-tall tropical Christmas tree, carolers and a sleigh full of presents, as well as re-theming the island tram to resemble a reindeer
