I'd like to send something to our friends but I looked up the obit last night and they said they don't want flowers, and they didn't list a charity ... Normally, I'd take over some food or something but that's kind of tough when you're 3,000 miles away. You are such a creative group, I thought you might have some suggestions...

In the past I have sent an "Edible Arrangements" http://www.ediblearrangements.com/

you can see if there is one in your area.

They are prettier than flowers and they don't go to waste! They have always put smiles on their face.....................

so thoughtful! good luck with DD

Hey, I learned something. Didn't even notice the button before.

Ok, I'm going to give that one to tkd Lisa, she was definitely close enough - that's outside the south mall entrance to Mall of America.

I kind of gave that one with the giant Lego block. :)

Ok, this one will be a LOT harder!

Woo Hoo!!!!! I got one! I've been to that place, that's why I guessed.

Okay, is this one at the Nascar race track you visited this summer? I think it was Michigan?

Stacey - got your email.... sent one in return.....

Well - my PA had to be late - as her baby sitter was ill..... made it busy there for a bit....

Therese, I love that idea. I just checked and they don't deliver to Buffalo... I'm going to check the business pages for Buffalo on the net and see if something similar comes up...

DD just woke up and she still has a terrible headache. That's three days now, and nothing seems to be touching it... At least she isn't nauseaus anymore ...

Have a nice plant sent to their home. Or, something they could plant outdoors later. We received a small tree when Jay's grandma passed away. That tree is now taller than our house....and we love looking at it, and saying "Look how tall Grandma's tree has gotten". It's like she's watching over us.

I'm on page 1287 only so I have some reading to do but I just thought I'd share what happened this weekend. It was our Christmas weekend with my family coming to spend the weekend at our place. We had a sleigh ride and did the turkey, etc... All was well, except then DD got sick. Every half hour for twelve hours... (of course, this was overnight) ... She seemed fairly dehydrated by morning, so I took her to emergency and sure enough they put her on an IV. We just got home and she's sleeping but feeling alot better. Just a bit weak...

While at the hospital, my DH called to say that our friends from last year's cruise (and that we were planning to cruise with this Christmas) called and told us that her husband passed away suddenly last week. I can't believe it and am still in shock! We talk to them every Saturday but missed last Saturday because we were out of town ... I haven't told DD yet because I know she's going to be devastated and thought she should get a bit stronger first so that she can call her friend (their DD is really good friends with my DD - they were inseparable last year and were so looking forward to spending this cruise together)... I feel so sad for them and helpless...

Well, I'll try to catch up on the posts while DD is still snoozing...

Oh Annie, what a rotten day! I'm so sorry. I'll be praying for you, your dd, and for your friends' family.

All caught up. Only took an hour. Nah....I was answering e-mails, too. That was a one-cup read!

Attention Late Diners......the first group:
Our rotation is set...APL
And our seating arrangements are made.
We are good to go....
and we have one empty seat for ScubaMatt. Seriously.

This year the Christmas gift is the cruise... so I think the Mickey pearl necklace will suffice for the birthday.

Sounds GREAT!! Why not buy two and sell one to Mike?? ;)

Hey, it was worth a shot!

If it's like cars, as soon as Virgil buys it, and takes it out of the store, it depreciates....so he would have to sell it to Mike at a discount!!
Works for me!

tks baskets (Theresa): In our over the door shoe holder I put:
medicine
gum
chapstick
lab pager
walkie talkies
sunscreen
swimming goggles
hair brushes
sun glasses

Pretty much anything that would typically bring the question "Mom (or Lisa), where's the xxx?"

Thanks, now all I need to do if find one :sad2:

OK, how did you mention that? Did you even get his name put on the chair?

Guess I'd best get started on my day. I'll check back in before I leave.

Still raining and really foggy out there. I can't even see the mountains out back.

Oh! I thought I was all done shopping. Ha. Wrong!
Jordan has her chorus concert Thursday night. Director said "white blouse, black skirt or slacks" No big deal, we bought those last year, and she hasn't grown.
She threw them away when she cleaned her closet this summer!!! She had better hope Target has something, because I am NOT going all the way to the mall.

Also....I did something really bad.....I got my plane tix to go to Omaha for my mom's surgery. Staying 3 weeks. The play/show that Jordan has been rehearsing for is WHILE I AM GONE! I didn't even think about it, until I had already gotten my tickets. Now what???? Arrggggghhhhhhh..................................

Works for me!

Well, that works even better. Maybe....Virgil can show it off to Mike as the next best thing to an iPod. After all, Virgil came here, showed Mike his iPod and Mike ran out and bought one....
Ah-HA! :)

I don't think there will be any complaints about that. We will probably have to move somewhere anyway, to make room for the teens.

Stacey, looks like you might have to rearrange your trip a little, is that possible? You'd be in deep doo doo if you miss that play.

Oh, I have a feeling that won't be a problem....

humming "can you feel the love tonight......"

Question for those of you getting Shirley's Spode Tree....

Will you be able to take it off the ship? (Shirley is adding live greens...and you can't take those off the ship....can those be removed?)

ALso...HOW do you plan on getting it off the ship? Carrying it to breakfast???

Maybe on the last night, I can put it in someone's room who has late dining, then go to breakfast the next morning and pick it up when I'm done! :)

I'm coming up with lots of plans today....and they all involves SOMEONE ELSE doing my dirty work! Ah, I have a feeling this will be a productive day ;) ;) ;)

I have that effect with my toys.....

Not sure I'd classify a necklace as a toy....

But... I'll try!

You can put it in our cabin, OM. So, are you saying that your DH did not inherit the jewelry buying gene? I think you're supposed to check out the future MIL's collection before you get married to determine that.
