We were just planning on bringing one bottle. But if you plan on drinking a lot, or if you're bringing something I like, you'd better bring two.

I was just going to bring 2 bottles since I have to carry them with me. Hope that is alright.

I went to the Liquor Store today. Bought more red wine, more pre-mixed Bloody Ceasars( which I will not be able to buy down there )
I'm thinking of bringing 4 bottles of red with me.
Lets see.....
I'll need a little beer, some coolers for DW and maybe a little Rum and Coke which I'll buy down there.

No I really do not have a drinking problem.

Maybe I missed it, but how much wine is being requested that we bring to the wine party? 1 bottle, 2 bottles, etc....I don't want to carry more than I need to, but want to make sure I do my part.

Ideas/Suggestions?

Great question!! If everyone that intends to drink wine brings even one bottle, we will be a :jumping4: HAPPY :cloud9: group. We will bring one for sure. I think if you got it, bring it. If not, then don't worry about it, there will be plenty for all to partake.

Unless we really want to rappel down the side of the ship.......... pirate:

Yesterday I bought a little mini Christmas Tree with lights and decorations.
Everything packed in one little box.
Very nice.

It's crunch time so the important questions are starting to fly...

DW says we get a bottle of champaign with RES (besides the one I am packing for Desert Buffet Night).

Does RES also come with champaign flutes or should I pack my own?

HI all thought I would le you know everything is going well. I was home shortly after 3 pm and have slept most of the afternoon away. What good drugs they give you. Thank you all again for all of your prayers and good thoughts. I'll be resting a lot over the next few days :cloud9:

Congrats to all that have received their DOCS. I don't think ours have come yet. I would hate to think I slept through that.

Time to go back to bed pain med is starting to make me sleepy.
Vicki - I'm glad all went well and hope you'll be back up to speed soon. Make sure gaRry takes good care of you!

Don't feel bad. I counted my wine bottles tonight. I'm bring 22 bottles of wine and champaign. And you think you have a drinking problem?

Actually, much of this is being carried on for others. I won't be drinking 22 bottles in 10 days. If I did I won't remember the trip.

I decided to just buy my beer in Key West. I always like just 1 six pack to have one beer after diving. No reason to haul that around when there are stores in Key West that will have it.

I just have to post on this page b/c the page number is my birthday!!! :)

Thanks Diana.......(please keep reading in regards to the above website)

OK Ladies, I need your help.

DW is not here at the moment. I feel if I don't take care of this pirate costume for DD, it will not happen.

So here is my question: Will a " one size fits all " ladies size 8-12 fit my DD, who has a children's size of 14.
I want to order this ASAP and need to know probably before I get a chance to talk with DW.
Thanks to all you Ladies out there.

Who would have ever thought, I could open up enough to ask such a question.
Only with my DIS friends and no one else.
Don't tell GaRry.......

Gus

No, I would say not. My DD Jamie (12 yrs old) wears either a girl's size 12 or 14 or a junior small. If she got a ladies 8-12 (I'm a size 8, 10 or 12 depending on whether I am on a cruise eating for 10 days), she would not fit into it. In fact, she would be drowning in it.

I say try to find a girl's 14, or give me the website and I'll go take a look at it.

In searching for good and noisy cabins, we came across this article.

http://archives.cnn.com/2002/TRAVEL/11/30/disney.sick.cruise/

It is the first we had heard of this.

Phil and Tracey

That is a very old article. Disney was not the only affected ship at the time. I have not heard of any problems during the past 2 years. This was a hot news topic, but died down once the cruise ships got everything cleaned up.

It's just the old thing, wash your hands.

This is from 11/30/02. They ended up cancelling a cruise to scrub the ship down. I think the big problem is people not scrubbing THEMSELVES down (esp after the bathroom!)

Missed the year, last night I thought I had read Nov. '04. That's what happens when you are tired!!!

Tracey

P.S.

Phil didn't catch the date either, so he must be just as tired!

Actually, this also came out at a very slow news time. Nothing else was going on, news wise. I remember when it came out Mike did some research and the incidence of Norwalk was actually LESS that year than it had been in the prior two years. But since nothing else was going on (no election nightmare, no Afghanistan war, etc) the news had to focus on some sensationalistic story....ta da...Norwalk.

Norwalk is around every year. Wash your hands. Avoid public bathrooms (you can't be anymore than 964 feet away from your own cabin's bathroom, don't rub your eyes/nose/mouth, use antibacterial hand gel, etc)

Definitely an important point - Make sure that you use the alcohol based hand cleaner all the time while on the cruise. It's the time of year for some of the nastier viruses - (Norwalk - caused the above Magic outbreak). Good hygiene will prevent problems - but washing your hands and then walking back to the table - touching handrails and doorknobs along the way - will not be enough - USE THE HAND CLEANER TOO!!!

OK - Off the medical soap box for the night.....

Open the bathroom door with a paper towel. Hold the door open with your foot while you shoot (and hopefully score) your paper towel into the trash. If you miss, or if there is not a trash close enough, hate to say it, but throw your paper towel on the floor. I've done this lots and restaurants and places are getting smart and putting trash cans very near the doors.

Or stand there and wait until someone new comes in and then run out before the door slams closed. ;)

Hey! I work with these news people every day. There is no way they would do anything like that!

(and If you believe that I have some swamp land I'd like to sell you!) LOL!!!

And what does Jim get for those points, hmmm?

Isn't it nice when other people dictate the terms of favors you're doing for them, especially when they didn't even ask?

No kidding! Sharon is way too nice. I may have told the other Mom, "Then YOU come get her!"

Now you know why my license plate says "2 N From"
