Geez, I think this is a first...now I'm talking to myself! And I haven't even had time to post on this thread for at least two weeks!!!
Sometimes it feels like that doesn't?

Wow! A TOP pirate: pirate:

Gus....I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on television...but...DD Jordan had a hernia at birth and we waited until she was 5 yrs old to repair it. The surgeon said it was one of the largest he'd ever seen. (It was ugly, and she'll love me telling you all about it)...but it never caused her any trouble.

My brother has had one for years and his doc keeps telling him to get it repaired. He's still hanging in there, and is a high school coach (as a side job to being a minister)
My mom had one for years that she finally had repaired a couple of years ago.
My guess (and if it we me) is that if it doesn't hurt terribly, depending on where it's located, if you don't do any heavy lifting, you'll be fine until you get back.
Half the time, it would take that long to schedule the surgery anyway.

Mom will have waited four months for her hip replacement by the time she goes in.

Now I feel like a real s*@#$ for being upset about my docs. I am worried for Gus.

Just got off the phone w/ DCL. UPS responded to my email and told me my docs were lost. Only the orginator can request a trace. So, called DCL and was advised another set of docs will be sent out on Monday 12/6 to be delivered on Thursday 12/9, via UPS. I asked (just for grins) what happens if the docs don't come on 12/9? then I call DCL on Friday 12/10 and they will send another set via overnight which will arrive on Monday 12/13. Gee I am not happy. I am glad I stayed on top of this and wish I had called sooner. I did verify UPS will leave the docs w/o a signature so I don't have to stay home.

I really am sorry for all your trouble, Sue. The good news is that, even without the docs, you can still go on the cruise. You would just have to fill them out at port.

But I DO know how you feel. Lisa would be really ticked. ;)

I also remembered to ask, we are flying on e tickets so I can print out the boarding passes for curbside checkin. So I really don't need my docs except for the luggage tags.

BUNGEE CORDS............

We have at least 10,000, but then the day after Thanksgiving, DH goes shopping at The Tool something or other, and what does he come home with? The super size pack of bungee cords, ropes, etc. ,etc.

I'm sure we will be bringing at least a dozen or so with us on the cruise. I mean, we even pack DUCT TAPE!

Linda

Linda, I have to wonder if your DH and mine are related somehow. :p DH MUST bungee anything that goes into the bed of our truck. Therefore, both rear door pockets of the truck are STUFFED with bungee cords.

Good news is, I hear that DCL lets us on the ship before noon quite often...bad news is, that would mean we must be off the ship before then so the next guests can board :sad1: .

Ok...here is a question.
Can DW and two very excited, surprised children check-in a missing DH.
( What if I left her with my DOCS and passport? )
I have to return the car which we rented after dropping off the luggage.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Thanks

Gus

Depends on the cast member checking you in. I have done this for the whole family the last two Christmas cruises. However, this past summer, they allowed me to process all of the paperwork, but they would not give me Jim's KTTW card. He had to show his photo ID to claim is KTTW card. Tell your DW to go ahead and check in. The worst that will happen is you will have to "cut in line" to show your ID and claim your KTTW card.

Oops!!! The last Scuba Diver post was by Scuba Mom. I have to hurry to my next errand so I forgot to change who was posting. Sorry.

Yep...Lisa is naughty. BTW...does that say Lisa has a grip on part of me!
Or does it say she has a grip on part of Mel ???? Mel? Gibson? :earseek:

We are supposed to be going to that BBQ right about now. But I think I will inform the mean boss who called me in to work w/o notice, and then left me there ALL ALONE to deal with things all day..that I am not going to the BBQ.

For one thing, I don't FEEL like going.
Jordan has a rehearsal in an hour. I'd have to leave the BBQ, take over to dance, go back, then leave again to go get her. I'd rather just stay home, thank you.

Calm down, Stacey. Mel isn't going on the cruise.

I wondered how I posted when I just signed on at the office.

Love that picture Diana! Is that "practice floating" just in case??? And, I think I recognize a young Alicia....but who's the guy?

1000th DIS post.....

Over the past year I cannot believe the friendships I have formed with many I have never met in person. It is really an addiction to have to sign on and see what's going on..... but it's a good thing. I've posted before about us being a community - well I believe that more now than ever. I can just imagine what is was like a hundred or more years ago gathering at friends houses or the local meeting hall catching up on the goings on - well - we do that every night in front of our computers.

While I am quite realistic about life and plans - I know how we can be thrown curveballs when we least expect it - I do think that with the group of friends that are going on this cruise that this will definitely be a very special time.

When I printed out an invitation for DD inviting her on the cruise - I said - "Please join us for the cruise of a lifetime....." I don't think anything has changed - other than it turning out better than I ever expected......

I don't see a problem. A guy can never have enough bungee cords. You never know who - - I mean - - what you may have to tie down.

I won't be in chat tonight until later - or posting on the thread if you decide to chat here....

It's my ER Christmas party - and since I'm paying the bill - I guess I better go.... While they know of my DIS addiction - I think that they might be offended if I didn't show up.....

Take care.... Until Later!!!

This is the reason they invented wi-fi access to the internet - just so DIS members could always stay in touch. I'm sure they won't mind having a laptop on the table during the party.

I don't think that they would - but DW would - she's a nonbeliever....
