Oh, and speaking of pirates,

Each family member has selected their pirate name and I did door signs to switch out on pirate day and magically after they go to bed, their sign will switch to

"AHOY MATEYS" with Captain Hook and the pirates who are in the stateroom.

And then, this week I have each family searching the internet and choosing their "family" jolly roger (i.e. pirate flag) so I can put their jolly roger on it too.

You would think I just have absolutely nothing to do in the next two weeks.

Wow, Linda.....nice RAILING!!!
Cute tree, too! Sorry, just had to do that for Jay!!!

Thanks. That's why I loved the one I saw that Jay made in Arizona!

I guess I should put a picture of my whole staircase on with all the beanies lining the staircase and the railing!

It's a night to have fun. I say go ahead and wear it!

It has the long, bell sleeves.....I was thinking about shredding them so that it looked more "pirate-ish"....what do you think about that?

Okay, I really need to head home now and sew another pirate outfit before bed time and before my husband thinks I'm out and up to no good!

(Actually, I'm sure he has figured out I'm still on the boards!)

We could even use scissors (I'll be bringing on a pair in my checked in luggage) and cut them zigzag like the bottom of the skirts). However, I am NOT bringing the sewing machine.....................

but I could bring my glue gun and glue sticks!

Suddenly, I find myself all alone here.........
Linda! You were still here. No sewing machine? I'm so disappointed.....

Really....should I shred them, or leave them alone???

Well, 10,000 pages ago, there were some websites listed that you could go in and type your real name and it would tell you your pirate name. One of them is stupidstuff.com and I think another is gangstaname.com

Then, I decided on my own that each family would have their own jolly roger and that would be their family pirate flag for the day. You can do a search on yahoo or google and type in jolly roger or pirate flag and there are a bunch of websites with pictures of flags and their history.

I bet some of our other pirate friends out their can tell you some of the other websites if you want to check it out.

I'm still here, but really got to get home.

Shred them............................we can always use the glue gun if a repair is needed!!!!!

yeah i remember the pirate name thing...i got really weird names off of it...maybe i can just be creative and make one up and then search for a jolly roger thingie.

What's the little red dot in the bottom left corner? Haven't had time to check that out.

Okay, taking my pirate ship home now. 15 minutes......

Later

I asked about that too.....it says "Report Bad Post".....but for some reason, I don't have one. Is that because for me, there's no such thing as a "Bad Post"??? LOL

This is much too hard for me....I can't do the sum.

Decisions, decisions.....and, by the way...what movie is THAT from???

The dot is one of 3 colors.

blue/gray if the person is offline (or I think hidden to others)

green if the person is online

red if the person is online but hidden from others

Would that be Babes in Toyland?

I think the dot is for whether people are on the boards or not, green means yes! The exclamation point is for reporting naughty posts, and you don't get one on your own posts. Or if you like, you can assume that the moderators just know you would never do such a thing, and they didn't give you one.

I just browsed through some cruise trip reports, I love doing that. There was a post that said Pirate Night lasts from 4 pm to 11 pm, so sounds like it's appropriate to dress pirate for dinner. There's also a Best Pirate Competition, and if you look really good, I guess you get to dance onstage with Capn Mickey. Well, the stakes just got upped, didn't they?

Okay, I feel silly now. You can seemy "exclaimation point", but I can't, right? Duh. Thanks Diana.

Hmmm....contest. Maybe I should wear the obnoxious one...if nothing else, it will draw attention.:earseek:
