Thankee, I say...

Howdy, Maam....I'm an insurance agent (I look for a logo on his shirt and only see a polo pony.) and you really need to get away from the back of your car. Brilliant, I think. He has called for police help, he says. I can see why...lots of cars and not a friendly face in the lot. He adds, officiously, you can get your car towed, most policies permit towing...Well, Buddy, I think, not mine and I say well, it's not broken down, I just have a little muffler problem.

You look like a sturdy fellow, why don't you give this little stub a stomp. If you can break the remaining clamp I can get out of here.
Well, he says, I want you to get away from the back of your car..and he points down the gravelly slope...go down there...Yeah, right,I say to this perfect stranger...

Just got back from another pre-cruise meet. Spent time with TinkFan, Tina. She ran over from Animal Kingdom to meet us at Boardwalk. She has a very busy schedule during these few days, I'm impressed with everything she is getting in and looking forward to hearing the details about her dinner tomorrow night.

DS and I did the Disney Golf Classic today. What a great way to spend the day, good weather and a hospitality tent. We even left the tent to watch some guys hit a ball, than right back to the tent. They had HDTV ESPN for DS.

Kevin, bad news for me tonight. Truth called (that's a dive boat in LA for all you non-divers) and they cancelled my trip. I'm posting on scuba board for help. What to do now?

I'll stand away, but I need my service dog so I can move off.
Here, Cash...who moves into position at my side automatically. Then the FORCE arrives...Motorcycle cop....You look like a sturdy fellow, I say (shows limited vocabulary and imagination). I explain the problem. If you stomp on this stub...he stomps...very impressive...no luck. I'm going to invest in muffler brackets, I think...Rock solid...
The cop leaps down the ravine wall, followed by the "insurance agent" and brings a huge rock...The agent brings a plastic traffic cone. He has snitched it from the utility truck.

 One of the cows is out. No one here but me and no key to the tractor that is blocking the gate to put him back in the pasture. What to do? He was roaming the "neighborhood" all day, got a not so happy call from my closest neighbor. I do have the gate shut now at the end of the driveway so he won't get out on the road and destroy someones car. But he does have free reign of my yard still. DSIL said he would come in the morning and help me push the tractor out a bit so we can scoot him in the gate. Note: neither the cows nor the tractor belong to me. They are my DD and DSIL's neighbors and he is gone for the weekend. Bummer

The cop jams the rock between the stub and the bottom edge of the plastic bumper. The agent returns the cone. (What was he going to do with that? Eek!) Voila'. The muffler teeters upward, jammed securely in place.

The agent offers to give me a ride (hmmm), which I decline...He never did explain why he had no logo on his shirt.... The officer suggests that I pull into a nearby parking lot to get off the roadway. I think of cold groceries and an approaching luncheon. What to do?

I head home, followed by flashing lights on an official mini black and white...Leander Texas gets its very own slow-speed chase. I make it home, rock and all. I made it to the luncheon. A neighbor has offered to follow me to the local muffler shop tomorrow morning and stay until the muffler is fixed. The groceries made it home in fine shape and the fresh fruit salad I took to the luncheon was delicious.

A major step to becoming a Posting Queen!

I got news today that the paved tramway in front of the Post Office that got washed out a few weeks ago has been replaced by hard-packed sand (suitable for electric scooters) and will prolly be repaved by the time we get there...YAyyyyy, another major step!

Photo Gallery Update!

I've added Denise Escola's family to the photo gallery. Another great looking family! Thanks for sharing with us Denise!

Angie - we saw you in chat but could you see us?

Mark, Lisa and Denise are still in chat. I'm going to call it a night.

Big doings tomorrow morning.

Dogs and favorite foods! Now those are two topics I can totally get into!

DH and I have a 5 1/2 year old black lab mix named Foster. No, not after the beer, :drinking1 , the guy from the now defunct show on Discovery called Travelers. If anyone remembers it, Foster was the totally goofy one on the show. When we picked out our puppy at the Humane Society, we decided that the new puppy reminded us of the guy from the show, so that's what we named the dog.

Sue, my parents have two rescue dobies. Both are about 6 years old, a neutered male named Diablo who has his tail and ears cropped, and a neutered female named Risa with just the tail cropped, english style. The are the SWEETEST dogs! And Foster loves to play with them.

Okay, food in the next post...

Cheers, Kara

Kara - Jesse came from a breeder in Va and Sam from dobie rescue. Both are docked with natural ears. My sister has a big ol' yellow lab who is their best friend. Now that I think of it every one is the lab's best friend:)

Missed chat tonight. Decided to take a nap instead. Tough week!

Paul

Hope your weekend will be better. I don't remember where everyone is from and sometimes get confused :confused3 with the time zones. I end up laughing at myself

Good story Lynda - glad it's turned out OK (so far)....

Sorry I missed chat tonight - went to a Halloween party..... had a great time - had to take virgin lime margarita mix for DD Lauren.... The hosts forgot and put tequila in the mix without saving her some.... they were worried she'd be offended.....

DW was dressed in black as a "fallen angel", DD was a vampire, and I was a monk.... Had a great time....

Good night all!.... another day closer!!!

What a drag!! What is/was the problem?

I'm sure you can find another boat in the same area. Did you try that South California boat listing I sent you?

I feel for you, I do!
