I FINALLY got this posting thing fixed so I could post!!YEAH!!
Anyway, we are on the 10 day Holiday Cruise and I have a request. DD will be within 1 month (27 days) of turning 13 and I have read that if they are within 1 month then they can go to Stacks. Is this correct? If so, are there any cruisers here with DD's she could meet before going? She is so looking forward to it and is doing her research daily.
We also have a DS (8) who could use some friends too.

Our cast will include:
DH-just turned 36!
Me-35
DD-12(almost 13)
DS-8
My Mom-57
MIL-55
FIL-58

Disneylover4, Welcome to the group! Glad you can post now and join the fun. Yes you can move up. But I'm not sure if you would want to. Remember that the stack has kids all the way up to 1 day shy of 18, and their activities are much less structured than the lab (there's a lot of hang time). If she had a cousin or a friend who was going to be with her in that group, then maybe I'd suggest moving her up. But if it were me, I'd keep her in the lab. Just my opinion, but that's been my experience.

If she does stay in the lab, my DD is almost the exact same age (she'll turn 13 the end of March), and would love to have another email buddy. I'll have to go back and see where you're from. Some of us DC area folks are getting together in early November for a pre-cruise meet.

And for your 8 year old, my DS is 11, so he'll be in the lab too. Your DS will be in the younger group, but when they do the open activities (usually called stormin the lab) the two groups are often together. So if he wants to email DS, at least he'll have a name/face to look for during those times!

We're also travelling with one set of parents (keeping my fingers crossed and my prayer lines open that FIL is able to go)! Where are your cabins? We're in connecting cat 10s on deck 2.

Again, welcome to the group.

Okay, I now have seen that disneylover4 is from Georgia, and since that's a bit too far for a weekend meet, guess we won't be seeing you in November, huh?

But if you do go to WDW early, we're going to be there the 16th and 17th for the exact same reason you mentioned. My in-laws have only done 1 day in the MK, back in the early 70s,so we're showing them the world. We'll be staying at the Board Walk Villas on rented DVC points, so maybe we can meet up sometime right before the cruise?

DS went to scouts last night, and seemed to have a good time. He's been saying that he wants to quit scouts, but can't really say why. Hopefully this too will pass! I have Girl Scout training tomorrow morning, then I'll get started with some packing. I'm thinking that cruise packing will help me get started for the move packing, right????

Since our puter's fixed, I should be in chat tonight :cheer2::cheer2: Who's with me????

Off to catch up on the rest of the boards. Lisa

Kevin, Diana, Alica: We had a great time at our pre-cruise scuba meeting. We watch the Disney Dive Quest Video before Survivor tonight. Loved it. Looking forward to diving again. We will think of you Sunday when we are in Italy!

Kevin, I went to Paradise Springs on Wednesday. The visability was excellent. The first time I could see 100 ft there. We will have some good dives planned in May.

Again, we had a great day with you and look forward to all our future pre-cruise meets.

Thanks! The whole trip was a pleasure!!

Paradise Springs, hmmmm. Sounds like a plan to me. Yet, another get away to look forward to. Can't wait!:sunny:

On the wine subject; We are going to take some of our nicer wines for dinner as well. The "bring the glass to dinner trick" is a good one. Just get a glass from the ship and keep it in your room for that purpose. We have done the wine package, but it is pricey. You don't have to be a wine snob to appreciate a good wine, and if you like to drink white with prime rib, then so be it. It's all about what makes you happy, eh?

Gus - click here for the maps from Dave's DCL Tribute site. It shows ABC fine wines and spirits not far from the Avis and Hertz locations. Also not far from Shirley's the Perfect Gift. Hope this helps.

We found the ABC, which is right down the way from the port, South I believe when we did our last Disney cruise. They did have what looked good to us. Finding your selections there does bet carrying them from home. But, with our family, the "Mule" (me) does all the heavy lifting so we carry some of our specials from home as well.

GOOD MORNING CRUISERS !

It's Friday and I have the day off. Taking mom to a holiday craft fair downtown today. Lot's of fun junk to see. :hyper:

Kevin, I haven't been able to come up with a design for the label. Any ideas? How about Slip Me A Mickey for the name? The wine we have to select from is sub par. DH and I tried it and its ok if you have already had something else. Tell me about your guy. Am still interested.

:cheer2: Have a good one everyone. Denise

Good morning Christmas cruisers :sunny:
I am really having a hard time figuring out who is who and keeping up with all the posts. To top it off, I don't know much about computers. I'm always asking my kids for help. Forgive me if I miss a post or question directed towards me. Cold and rainy day today--great for laundry and cleaning. All three kids going in different directions at the same time tonight. Should be fun. Hope everyone has a great day. I'll check back later.

Good morning all. I work 4-10 hour shifts, so get to be home-or somewhere other than work anyway-every Friday. Ohiominnie, have a great WDW trip. Wish we could go. We will be staying at BCV 6 nights prior to the cruise, so will get our annual fix of WDW then.

Good Morning!!

We're going to make decisions on our shore excursions this weekend ---- I'm gonna make them (DH & 2 DD's) fess up to what they really want to do.

I have a question for you all -- are most of you doing Disney shore excursions or going out on your own. I know my DH wants to ride Jet Skis in Key West --- is there a place nearby the port where we can rent them and do we need reservations?

Also, I really want to go over to St. John to snorkle on Christmas, I would like to do it on my own versus a shore excursion. Is anyone else going over on their own?

Have a great weekend --- I'm going to get started on my packing! Well, not really packing but as long as I'm going to organize my closet I might as well separate the stuff I want to take --- I don't think I'm going to be needing shorts around here anymore!!!

Goodness Gracious!

All I did was sleep....even waking up at 7, and there are all these pages to read!

Mary.....totally totally stinks that you have to work days like that and not get any over time......I thought that kind of thing only happened to us owners.

GaRry.....what do you have something "set" automatically to have that list pop up on the T.O.P. all the time??? You pirate:

Judy....don't feel bad, I can't keep everyone straight anymore, either! I didn't think I'd ever get to know everyone when I was new.

Going to the office for a bit, but hoping to sneak out and do some shopping later. Hey...normally I don't work at all on Friday!

We have the two late ball games tonight, and Jared has two soccer games in the morning, starting at 8 a.m.......that does not equal enough sleep for me. I'm thinking I may have to (oh so sad) miss the games tonight. And you know how much I LOVE to play!

TTFN,
Stacey

My task today is to get our transportation set up and get all of our information into a 3 ring binder. Are we compulsive? Everything, all reservations, airline tickets, driving directions, etc goes in a three ring binder to take with us.

FINALLY GOT ANOTHER T.O.P.!!!!

So, where does one send a smelly DH to get rid of him?

"Far Beyond The Northern Sea"

Does anyone remember that song???

Patty.....we really wanted to go to St John on our own to snorkel, too. But since it will be Christmas, I didn't want to chance not having the ferries running and all.
I have since found that there is definitely a set rountine for the islanders on Christmas.....they do not work a normal schedule, if at all.
We booked Captain Nautica's St John snorkel adventure, to be certain that we got over there.
But, you could probably still book something on your own. When I was looking, I just did a search for the island, and all kinds of info comes up. Best to look at a Chamber of Commerce site, if there is one. Here are a couple of excursion sites:
www.thedancingdolphin.com and
www.daysailfantasy.com

And everything is close in Key West. I think some of our other cruisers may be Jet Skiing, hopefully they can give you some clues.
Just remember, the water isn't going to be all that warm!

Thank goodness you at least remembered the song, Angie....I was afraid I was really showing my age!!! LOL

Talk about compulsive....no, let's don't. I have been known to be teased for laminating my typed daily guides (where we're going, attractions, food) for our vacations.....for this cruise, I only have a folder. I'm working on that OCD thing!

Justmestace -- thanks for the information --- funny when I asked my TA questions about services on Christmas day he assured me it should be business as usual. I'll look for a shore excursion for St. John, I don't want to miss it --- it was the best last time.

MrsMork -- organization is great --- I keep all my stuff in a divided plastic folder --- tabs for everything, also works great to put all those little things you pick up to bring home.

Okay, I really am ready to send DH out beyond the northern sea (and I can't remember that song, so I must be younger than Stace). Our buyer wanted us to fix something that will cost us $50 and DH is being a stinker about it. So the realtor has kicked in up to $100 just to close the deal! DH does this to me EVERY TIME! And he has the nerve to get mad at me too!

Okay, Deep breath here, now I'm better.
