Me too. Just did the same thing. Maybe my Disney Reward Points will help pay for the wine package! :)

Welcome Judy.........Mary will I'm sure send you the "password" for the newsletter she writes every month.
Lots of info for T-shirts and buttons and pictures of some of us
( not my family ) etc. etc. etc.
Everyone is going to have to wait until they see me and family in person.
We are a great bunch......I never thought I would be as glued to this thread as much as I am........."who would of thunk it"

Just jump in and start typing away.

You're from Ohio....... my family did a family amusement park summer trip to Cedar Point this last summer.
It was great, we are going back.

Not a bad road trip from Toronto

BTW....are you refaxing your dolphin trip registration?

I believe it says in the "terms and conditions" that if they do not send you confirmation via email then you are to call them on their 1-877 phone number.

Gus

Judy...........I'm just assuming you're trying to book the dolphin trip on your own and NOT with Disney.

Herc, you're the Texas guy! I knew we had one. I'll be in the DFW area the last week of October (flying in late Sunday and out Wednesday afternoon). If you'd like to meet up, send me a pm and I'll get you my cell number.

Welcome Judy & Patty. I'm another Newbie to the thread and everyone has been so inviting here! I'm trying not to fall behind on reading again.

I was going back and forth about the X-Mas shopping this year. Last X-mas cruise (2002)we did, I brought everything onboard and had to wrap it on the cruise(security) and then lug it all back home. I may do my shopping at one of the ports (Key West?). It's only DD that I need to worry about. But either way I am ALWAYS up for a shopping trip.

Has anyone ever done the wine package thru Disney? I'm not sure how it works. I only drink red wine so I don't know if it would be better for me to just bring my own on board although I'd perfer to avoid the hassle.

I have officially started my packing(threw one pair of shorts in the suitcase after laundry). Now I'm getting really excited.

Have a great day Everyone!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
Gus...yes I did send another fax plus I called them today and they did get this one. I'm trying for the dolphin adventure at 9 a.m. I didn't attempt the royal swim. Last cruise (western) I tried many months in advanced and it was booked.

Question--Will they have a taxi that all 5 of us fit in? How much do you tip for taxi driver or excursion?

We have! :) I like it. I'm not a wine-snob, so to me, they are good wines! We always say we'll have some at dinner and take the rest back to our cabin, but our server just seems to keep refilling our glasses and next thing you know, our bottle is empty!

It's probably more expensive than brining your own wine onboard, but this way I don't have to hassle. Plus, several of the wines are ones you can ONLY get through Disney....one is one that is ONLY on DCL.

I believe it works out to about $38 per bottle for the premium package. So if you want a really special wine one night (Palo) you can use your package allotment and just pay the difference.

You all are so nice --- but I already know that from years of reading these boards!

Is the list for teens on the regular Teen Board? I know she would like to get to know someone. Is there something out there for my DD-12?

Welcome welcome welcome! So glad you're "out of the closet"! My DD is 12, and she posts occasionally on the teen thread. Tina (tinkfan)'s DD is just a bit older than my DD, and dancind's daughter is also just 13. She's the one who started the teen thread, so a 12 year old should feel pretty comfortable with the group. It's not like they're all much older than your DD.

Your night before the cruise plans sound really nice. We're at BWVs the 15th and 16th on rented points, but I haven't made my 17th ressie yet. I'm waiting to be sure on the in-laws before I priceline. I'm leaning towards trying to stay near WDW since we'll be in the parks all day the 17th. The drive to the port on the 18th is really a very easy drive to make from WDW.

Off to finish catching up.

Hello everyone,
There is me, DH, DS 15,
DD 13, DS 12. We live about 20 minutes east of Cleveland, OH. We have a 3 year old chocolate lab mix (chewed my couch to shreds when we first got her). Wow, for someone who's shy, I sure said a lot!!
Judy

Welcome Judy! Glad you joined us! Dive right in, we really don't bite too hard! And my college roommate grew up in Grafton Ohio, so I've been pretty close to you several times!

GaRry, I had forgotten about the pilot from our first cruise. But since you mentioned it, yes that was cool. DH's nephew used to run all the communications for Air Force 2 when Clinton was in office. (Angie, sounds very similar to the job you were describing). He got out of the AF, and moved back to Indiana now though.

Now that I'm caught up! Our home puter's fixed, so I'm posting from there. I'll have DD post on the teen thread when I finish up here.

I had an all day training session at work yesterday. Earned Value management. I knew I wasn't an accountant for a reason! Then Girl Scouts last night. Today, DD woke up with an upset stomach so I stayed home with her. They are off school tomorrow for a teacher's day, and DH is staying home then.

Tina/Charlotte, DD is very much looking forward to meeting your kids. Sue, I'm excited about meeting you too, but DD is focused on the kids (no offense!!).

I decided to replace DH and my Tevas (they were both smelling pretty bad, so you can all thank me for it!). I found some good deals on them at Campmor (www.campmor.com) if anyone's in the market.

Whoever mentioned Christmas shopping, I get to say Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah nah! I don't have to do any this year! We told the kids the cruise was their Christmas way back when we booked! And the only other people we buy for are the grandparents. The in-laws Christmas is also the cruise, so I just have to take care of my mom. Since she's planning on joining us at WDW before the cruise, I think I'll buy her park passes and call that her present. Easiest shopping year ever (and probably the most expensive I'll ever have!)

Hope everyone has a great day! Lisa

No idea Judy.....that is something else I have to research.

I think I recall cruisecritic.com might have something on Antigua cabs.

I'll look.

Questions:

Does Santa hand out gifts to the children on board?.

If so what type of gift might it be?

This is sort of a concern..........I found out last night that "apparently" our room is beside a laundry room on deck 2.

Has anyone ever stayed in a room beside a laundry room?

Any comments about noise etc. would be greatly appreciated.

BTW....I did a search with my room # already on some different boards. I just emailed my TA for her opinion who was going to contact Disney for their opinion.

Thanks Gus

I'm SORRY M - 5 I skipped right over your post.:earseek:
Can I make it up to you with a bottle of wine ?????????????
You being new too the thread and all. JUST A THOUGHT.

Well time to go get something done besides cooking and dishes

Hi Gus:

Santa does come X-Mas Morning to hand out gifts and take pitcures in the atrium. The line is very long as you can imagine. My DD (7 at the time) got a pooh shower scrub with pooh soaps. I saw older kids (10-12) walking around all day with small earphones so I guess they must have got a mini walkman or something like that. Also X-Mas was a sea day on our cruise. I don't know if they will schedule it differently since we are in port and I think we have to go thru customs that morn too????

Although I didn't stay near a laundry room, whenever I was down there I did notice alot of traffic and since it is so small of space people can't help but spill into the halls. What you are able to hear from your stateroom, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the info Karen.

Do I just get to pick whatever is on the list? In other words can I just pick all red wines for the cruise? Actually, is there somewhere on the web where the details are listed?

My husband doesn't drink so it's good to know I can just take any unfinished with me.

Thanks
MaryAnn

yes, go to www. castawayclub .com (you'll have to copy and paste and get rid of the spaces

Then go to "menus/food and drink"
then click on Wine Package.

It's about $38 a night, so for our 10 day the premium wine package will cost about $380 plus tip (automatic tip)

Yes, you can pick ANY wine on the list or upgrade and use your $38 credit. If you want, you can pick THE SAME WINE every night. By the end of our 7 night our assistant server looked at us and said "The Fess Parker again, right?" We did try some others, but I love that Fess Parker!
