Hi all

the guys are napping, they both did well with their dives and are now officially certified (they may also be certifiable but that's another story) Yesterday the weather was fantastic 70's, this am was a bit cooler, 45 when they left to dive. brrrrrr

Glad to hear the dive quest went well. make sure you post pictures when you have them!!

Stacey and Ominnie - I feel your pain DS is 6', 34+ inseam and a 29" waist. They don't make many pants that fit him. I know when he needed slims they were very hard to find, I got upset once in Penney's as all they had were huskey. They quit carring slim in the store because they didn't sell enough.

Hope everyone has had a good day!

Vicki

Stacey, thanks for all the great tips. The Store.yahoo one was the one I was thinking of but appreciate all the other great suggestions.

I bought Jared a tux far too long ago, but in a size too big online at www.tux4boys.com I may end up having to get another one. I didn't want to rely on the cruise line, and these were nice, but cheap.

Gap had some good stuff....I ordered one pair of pants, to make sure they fit him, before I get any others. I'll do anything to avoid taking the kids to the mall!

Vicki.....glad the "boys" did it!! That's pretty cool. Now you can join Diana in chewing your nails to the nub when they go "under the sea"!!
I volunteer to snorkel along behind them, and keep an eye on them!

Ohminnie.......it's always something. It seems like the whole "moving in with someone" and then fighting over food bills and such happens to almost everyone at one time or another.
Your niece may end up deciding on her own to go home....but she won't do it if anyone TELLS her to. That would be "giving up" and relinquishing her new-found independance. As for the baby, be happy for her. The timing may stink, the guy may not be right, but it is hers, and therefore, a part of your whole family....she'll manage. It doesn't seem possible, but she will. Hopefully, the family will rally around her, and help her buy some of the necessities. I had the honored job of holding my little wonderful great-niece at my niece's wedding...the older folks thought the baby should have been left with a sitter....I couldn't figure that one out...everyone knew my niece and her (now) hubby had a baby...why hide her in a closet just for the wedding?? It happens....and it will be okay.

I was just going to say all that:confused:

No, he's not. Hey fatocow, you do know there's a teen forum, right? These threads in this forum are for people who are going on a specific cruise to get to know each other.

Top! Yo Ho Yo Ho - I'm beating Stacey in the Tops!

Hey I have to do something - she's beating me in the post count.

:D :D :D :D :D

On the subject of boys pants - try out Lands End. www.landsend.com They have boys slim - not a huge selection but they do have them.

Okay guys.....I guess I've been here for a year or so....close, anyway.
I have something I need to tell you all, as you will find out soon enough anyway.
Those of you who know me, or have met me can just skip all this and hop rigt on to the next post.

Do I have everyone's attention? I have a confession to make, but first let me say that I am a really nice, considerate person. Honestly. I always take other people's feelings into consideration, and I am not a bad person.

Okay....here goes......I am so afraid that there are some of you out there who are going to hate me for this......

I am a smoker.

I know, it's a nasty, dirty, rotten, filthy habit. And I need to quit. I have tried several million times, in several million ways. And someday I will succeed. I was hoping to have quit before the cruise.....but I didn't lose weight either. I have a very weak personality when it comes to that.

I am not allowed to smoke in my house (which is okay with me) or in the car when I'm not alone, and I have not done it in my new car....I want it to stay smelling good. We never sit in the smoking sections at restaurants.... Jay absolutely hates the smell of it, so I have to be very careful.
So, you say, it should be easy to quit then....yes, it should. But I haven't. Yet.

I promise to all of you that if we are together and I feel that I need to smoke, I will do like I always have done, I will go as far away as I possibly can. Or I will wait.
Having been on two DCL cruises, I am very conscious of the kids, and the adults....and I try to "hide" as best I can.

Okay....I said it.

I know how much some people absolutely hate smoking, and quite possibly, smokers......but please, don't hate me.

   Stacey - I could never hate you. In fact it is because I care about you that I say - please do quit. Smoking is what took my Mom away from me way too soon. She was a smoker for 40 years and did quit, but 40 years too late and ended up dying of lung cancer. I would never want to see anyone go through that again.

Having said that I know how hard it is to quit any addiction (mine is food). When my Mother was diagnosed I turned to my MIL and said "I wish you would quit because I don't want to lose you too". It took her 3 more years but she did quit. My FIL was all over her all the time and I would keep saying "she'll quit when she is ready".

I'm a firm believer that you have to be ready in your heart and in your mind to make it successfull. Without that no pill, patch, or anything else is going to help.

So I do hope you quit, but if you don't you'll still be Stacey and I'll still love you!

Ok Gus ......pack some bubbly too.

Gus that will be great for the wine party but the sailaway party needs bubbles - the soapy ones - last cruise I brought a case of the little bottles they use for weddings so all of our party people had their personal bottle

:lovestruc Thank you, Mary....I know you're right (on this issue there is no question of that!)

Congratulations GaRry and DS

Gus

Stacey - You are a very polite smoker. I really don't think I remembered that about you. Bees - yes

I'm still trying to catch up the reading I missed while I was running with children. This week was homecoming - Game was great we won - 41 to 21. One more win and we head to the playoffs. DD had a great time at the Dance. DS passed on the dance as this was Dive weekend.

Gail sorry you won't be joining the group for this cruise. Glad someone has volunteered to take over the ressies. I am not organized enough to do that sort of thing. I have enough trouble with my own ressies.

Lisa hope the lot / house hunting goes well. I agree it is great that you will be able to rent your house for a few months. Moving twice in 6 months would be a real bummer.

well I have to finish catching up on the posts over the weekend.

Vicki

:bday: Happy Birthday Kristen :bday: :cake:

Matt - sorry to hear about the bad weather, hope you stay safe and dry.

Gail - I sent another PM

Stacey - you know we will always love you. My mom smoked for years and couldn't quit. She finally quit after she had to spend 33 days in the hospital but she still says it's hard and she craves one all the time.

Just in case you are all interested(and I know your really not) Brittany made it home safe and sound last night. She had a great time.

Rich actually had a day off so we went and picked out pumpkins today. Living here in the heartland we actually have a pumpkin farm. They have a lot of pumpkins to choose from, a haunted corn field, and hay rides. It is a lot of fun especially for Alyssa.

Everyone have a great evening.
