Good Monday Morning everyone! Just finished making some more PS for next week's trip to dw. DH and friend have a mortgage brokers convention at the Dolphin so of course I'm tagging along. Decided to stay at POFQ - really like it there and got a great rate. I'm already loving this convention - Friday massage at GF spa, dinner at CG that night. Then dinner at O'hana's Saturday night. Lots of pool time in between::yes::
Wish I could join the girls in Vegas. Can't believe I'll miss you by one week. Just my luck. Have a great time.
Cindy

Giving us a little bump - saw us slipping on down the page. Stacey we miss you! Hope you are having a great time in Vegas.

Hope everyone else is having a wonderful day!

Since Stacey and some of the other ladies are out of town, I guess I will help keep the thread at the top. This 4th of July weekend was the official start of my training period for a bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. This 520 mile ride is a fundraiser for the Arthritis Foundation. Last year, 170 riders raised over 650,000 for the Foundation. Each rider is asked to raise at least $2900. This year I've raised $3600 so far. This will be my second Arthritis ride. The ride is in October, so I won't have to worry about training during the cruise.

I have been riding for several months, but I haven't been putting in many miles. But this weekend, I got 108 miles in over the three days. Now I just need to keep it up and do about 150 miles a week until October.

Any other bicycle riders out there? The Arthritis ride goes down Highway 1 through Big Sur. Great views and big hills. You get a whole new appreciation for the natual beauty of this country when you're passing through on a bicycle.

If your interested, you can visit the official Arthritis Ride web page at www.californiacoastclassic.org

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Just doing my part to help the thread on its march to 10000.

Hi everyone,
Just thought I would check in. We are currently in Texas for another week. Had a great 4th with BBQ and fireworks. Visiting a lot of family and seeing some sights. Wednesday we are going to huge waterpark nearby and maybe going to San Antonio Thurs or Friday.
Hope the Vegas ladies are having a great time.

Have a good week!

Ken the ride sounds great! Good luck doing fundraising for such a good cause.

Tinkfan - nice to see you checking in as well.

Virgil - sorry to ruin your entertainment for the day watching us fall to the bottom :D I guess that's a good thing - it means you aren't too busy.

Ken that sounds like a great ride... Wish I had the time to train and do it. One of my partners is an avid biker - we've both been watching the Tour with great interest. There are a great many rails to trails rides in our area - but none with the scenic views that the Big Sur ride would have....

Some of those scenic views are a 1000 feet straight down to the pacific ocean. This is a road that you don't want to be day dreaming about a disney cruise while riding. But it was a great ride and I'm looking forward to doing it again.

I was in the Coast Guard back in the late 70s and was stationed in Monterey. So I got to see the coast line around Big Sur many times from the water. It's a little different on a bike seat.

Hey all from Vegas!!!

I talked to Stacey this evening on the phone and she was checking out her SUITE at the New York, New York hotel. We have not heard from Diana yet but did not expect to hear from her until tomorrow so hopefully she had a safe trip.

We had a pretty good 4th of July. My Dad took us out to the military base and they had a lot of activities going on, free food and some pretty good fireworks so it was a great evening. Just wish Mom could have been there instead of in the hospital, but no such luck.

I am hoping to hook up with Stacey(while she is shopping) tomorrow before we go to dinner tomorrow night. I sure can't wait to meet her and Diana. I tell you all about it on Wednesday(or maybe Tuesday night if I feel like it).

Mine and the girls summer just got a whole lot buiser. We will fly home sometime next week and then the following week we will go to Destin, FL for 10 days. After that we are coming back out to Vegas on Aug 5th to spend more time with Mom and then fly back on Aug 18th. School starts Aug 25th. So, busy, busy, busy.

And wouldn't you know it we end up in Vegas when I have to Call DVC to make reservations for next summer. We are trying to get the grand villa so I will have to call day by day and it is a 3 hour difference so I will be up every morning at 6am to make those calls. Those girls better appreciate this!!::yes:: Sorry if you are not DVC, but those who are will understand.

Okay, I know this is a little early, but I can't stay on this thing as late as Stacey. So here goes.

GOOD TUESDAY MORNING TO OUR EAST COAST CRUISERS! AND ALL OF THE REST OF US, TOO!!!

LeiLani

Vicki, I'm glad that you are able to make the trip next month. I got your email earlier and will try to find the info that you need and send it to you. That is if I can get on AOL - I've been having a problem with my connection :badpc: .

Beautiful ride....last time I did that route I was driving a 1967 Mustang and carrying 13 assorted hand guns and rifles plus 360 pounds of ammo and black powder.....
Managed to get all the way back to the San Jose area without getting a ticket or blowing up the trunk...
Thanks, again, Dad...

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Back to work for me but at least it is only for a 4-day week! :D

LeiLani - thanks for checking in from Vegas. Have a wonderful dinner with the other DIS ladies tonight. Sounds like you have a fun, but busy, summer ahead.

Have a great day everyone - I'll try and check in at lunch!

Anyone know how to fix the missing timers, etc.?

They don't need to be fixed - they have been turned off by the board admins for the next 24-48 hours while they work on the boards. When they are finished they will be turned back on.

Good Tuesday morning all! I'm still here. Hey I do a little better than just lurking.....

Mary - excellent newsletter! I was thinking it would be a good idea to update the itinerary I did to include other DIS events like brunch and deck parties....what do you think?

Had a great 4th of July weekend with my family. Got a little over-baked in the sun on Saturday. My sibs and I purchased an old Sunfish sailboat and spent all of the cloudy day on the lake. Duh....I'm feeling it now...

Have any of you decided on what excursions are looking the best? I can't decide if we want to do an excursion at every port or just wing a couple. Obcessive planner that I am, I will probably book a shorter (<5 hour) excursion everywhere but Castaway Cay. Your thoughts?

Have a happy day!

Morning all. What a busy weekend. Our popup problem is better (thanks to Mark and Mary for suggesting the google toolbar), but I am still having a few sneak in. Way too much hassle to DIS from home with that happening. DD has been banned from her favorite Danny Phantom site! I think it was mostly older kids anyway, and she was just about to have it blocked because of content. I sent them a nastygram about infecting my computer though.

Great to catch up from everyone. 2ruff, great news about your hubby's leave approval. I need to figure out if we know any of the same people. Lots of Navy activity in Washington State, and we have good friends in Coupeville.

Tina (tinkfan) and I weren't able to hook up. The 4th of July Friday traffic would have been awful her way (and it was rugged my way too!). We did enjoy our visit to Tyson's Corner. Rainforest cafe was having a clearance sale, and I got 3 shirts, and 2 souvenier wallets for $12! Then I hit the Disney store and got 4 adult fleeces for $15 apiece. I think those will come in handy at WDW before the cruise. I thought about getting Grumpy ones for the men, and Pooh ones for the ladies. When I got home, DH said something like "how much money did you spend so that you could save a few bucks?" so I really wished I had done it!!!

But Charlotte and Tina, I just realized that DD's camp pick up is at the high school right next to Tysons, so I'll be there next Sunday (the 11th) and again the following Saturday (the 17th). The 17th is probably better for me, since Sunday drop off is about 9:30 am (she's going all the way to Western VA, so it's a long drive), and I think the Saturday pickup is in early afternoon. Tina, if you're back by then, let me know. And Charlotte, is that an available day for you?

Got to run off to a meeting. Happy Tuesday everyone!

HAPPY TUESDAY EVERYONE!

Well, what a busy weekend we had. DD keeps us busy running from one place to another with all her performances and now she has been asked to be in a musical in September. We are thinking about it...................

Anyway, had a great weekend. Got caught up reading the thread and only got sidetracked a few times. Love those thank you cards, I downloaded already and thanks Mary for the great newsletter. You are awesome.

Now, I have to catch up on all my work! I love a four day work week, but hate trying to cram all my work into four days! I need a Disney Cruise Vacation!!

Hope all the ladies hit it REAL BIG IN VEGAS! Then, being the great Dis Boarders they are, they would payoff all the balances on our cruise! Wouldn't that be nice? Now, I am really dreaming.

Okay, have a great day everyone!

Linda
