Anyone need anything from WDW when we go?
Just thought I would ask since we are driving.

Afff, yes I did rent points for Boardwalk. I paid $10 a point (total points requirements for my rooms were 9 points a night * 2 rooms * 2 nights). Pop Century was booking at $77 a night for the same nights, and required 12% tax, so I ended up paying about $25 more total to stay in studios on the Boardwalk over Pop Century. I'm sure PC would have been fine, with my FIL has a hard time walking distances, so we're probably going to book a scooter, and the boat transportation to MGM and Epcot will make that SOOOOO much easier!

I just posted on the DVC rent board and someone pm'd me about it. I have to admit I'm a bit nervous, cause mines a little different from the average. Because we are getting length of stay type passes, I have 2 separate reservations for 1 night each. The normal practice is to pay for 1/2 your agreement up front, then the member sends you a confirmation. You then pay the other half around 60 days out. Because of the 1 day reservations and the short stay (2 nights), I paid it all up front. Now if this person backs out, all I have is a reservation number and a confirmation receipt from DVC that the person DID have a reservation booked. But I have never heard horror stories, so I think it will be okay. I do call DVC periodically to check on the reservation, and I'll probably be crossing my fingers and toes until we actually get checked in. Back around November or so on the thread, there are several posts where I was asking about this topic.

On the rental board there is also a thread called something like FAQ about renting points (or something like that). Good luck!

Charlotte, I didn't mean to worry you about the BW. I don't know anything bad about it, I just overall haven't liked the chain. I do think it will be too cold to swim outdoors this weekend though. Good luck with your decision!

GaRry, welcome back! I know what you mean about being too old for this driving stuff! I'm going up and back to Philly tomorrow and I'm already dreading it!

BTW, has Vicki put a bug in your ear yet about your September driving trip? Hint, lots of chocolate to be had!

Do you have corked wine too??? Because if you do I may have to seriously consider the offer. But then we are leaving in less than 3 days and I haven't even started to pack .

Ohiominnie, I will see what I can do about the and sending it up north.

Lynda and Cash, I think the MM bar would melt or I would eat it before I got to the post office . But I can always have 1 for you. Besides, you will get one yourself in less than 1 month . They are on the children's menu in the dining room and I have heard you can order them from room service . YUMMY!!!!!

Busy day, trying to tie things up so I can get outta here and over to Maui. got my tickets changed to Wed. at least so I got one more day of work and then, hopefully, I am going to be sunning on the beach. I would like a chocolate covered frozen banana from WDW while I am laying on the beach though!

Car problems yesterday -- auugh! Just got caught up reading the posts since Sunday.

Lisa - We're bailing out of the Best Western for this weekend.....I think you're right - it's not going to be outdoor swimming pool weather. Going to drive up for the day on Sunday instead of staying over Sat. night. Will try to swing by the Springhill Suites and take a peek at the rooms.....must be good......they're totally sold out for the Hershey Spring preview weekend.

Mary and others - thanks for the info on DVC. I really want to find out more on this.....feel free to pm and offer any/all tips!
