It's 10:30 and we just got home. If I wrote a book about my life, no one would believe it.
First, though....excursions and such....I just feel like I have to have things settled ahead (WAY ahead) of time. Just in case there were some big catastrophe and I ran out of time. So, I'm like a boy scout...prepared. It's funny, I do this for trips, but in my everyday life, I procrastinate something terrible. I work better under pressure. I began making Megan's wedding flowers a year in advance, and it was so nice to enjoy doing it, and not feel any pressure. OR it could be that I am exactly as described A.R.!
So, here's why I am turning into an insane person.....
I got to Jared's game during the second inning. I was surprised to find Jay keeping score, and our two friends (who were over for dinner last night) were operating the scoreboard. I didn't even know they were going to be there.
I was there for one whole inning. Megan (DD#1) called me. She said that Pete had taken my Blazer (which I am generously letting them use for a while) to get gas, and when he was done it wouldn't start, and he needed to get back to work, so he left it at the gas station....still at the pump!!!
My friend Phil and I got in my Yukon, and headed for the gas station. I just had a terrible feeling that they'd already towed it away. But it was still there. We tried to jump start it, but it was dead as dead can be. After the game ended, Jay and Jared showed up at the gas station. Not much we could do, and they made the car so that it basically can't be towed behind another vehicle...nothing to attach a tow rope to. Pushed it into a parking space (why couldn't Pete have done that?) and we were going to call a tow truck when Jay decided to check one last thing...th battery connections. They had some corrosion, he cleaned them, and the car started! It was still stalling out while we drove it home, so I'll still have to take it in....
What a day!! CALGON!!! It's a pretty rotten trick that kids are so cute when they're little. When I get a hold of Peter, I'm going to wring his neck.
Where were they through all of this??? They had dinner reservations! We ended up at Wendy's at 9:15 pm.
It's getting so that I can't wait to get up in the morning to see what surprises await me!
And everyone wonders why I'm thinking shore excursions so early....it's an ESCAPE!!
Think I'll toss myself into bed. Can't wait for tomorrow.
HAPPY TERRIFIC TUESDAY MORNING TO OUR EASTS AND MIDS AND EVERYONE IN BETWEEN!!!
