20040131 ~ Cruising Jan 31 2004 Western Who's with us?

Actually, Annette, these "Yanks" around here won't even provide me a picture of a toque. If you could do that I'd be forever thankful. Like I said before, the only definition that I can picture in my mind is a chef's cap.

Hey, Jilly Bean, your Mom said for you to get whatever you think you need for this cruise. I guess it must be your graduation present. So, have a ball!!

Princess Aurora Jilly Bean princess: - where are you shopping for summer clothes? None of the stores in King of Prussia have anything remotely summery in them, other then bathing suits and I can't compete with the required speedos. I might need to have an emergency shopping trip when I get to Florida. It's terrible when you drag your summer clothes out of the attic and nothing new has magically appeared and they look even more tired and worn-out then when you packed them away.

Dean - I always thought a toque pretty much looked like the hats that were pictured on this thread about 100 pages ago.

Cap - hope the water heater is fine.

Karyn - thought your background was fascinating. My youngest sister lived in Scotland, Japan and Bogota, Columbia at different times in the past. I thought that was so cool.

What is GMT? The time on the boards is about 5 hours ahead of me. I'm going home to make dinner, do laundry and think about packing organization (not actually do any).

Hope there's not too many pages to catch up on tomorrow. The accounting software upgrade is sucking up alot of time.

I went back to page 31 where the pictures Gary put up of the "vacationer cap", but didn't see any pictures of a toque. You weren't just trying to get rid of me for a little while, were you.:scratchin

Annette, welcome to this crazy group. We're from just across the border, in Canton, MI. I'm not sure, you may even be south of us.

Shannon, GMT is Greenwich Mean Time, or the starting point of the time zones. You're in Eastern Time, or five time zones behind GMT (e.g. their sunrise will be five hours before it gets to us).

Water Heater seems to be behaving. It was just the plastic drain valve that was leaking.

Annette, to be clear, when you PM Gary with the names of your family, you should tell him if you don't want them public. He posts the list for all of us on this board. If you go back to Friday (however many screens back that is), you'll find the last posted list.

Dean, you're really going crazy with the smilies today. Is this a skill that you had before becoming co-head-thread, or an acquired skill?

OK, I think I found a real Canadian Toque and I thought I had to be brave to wear my speedos in public.

Cap-You are right about me posting all of the names listed on this board. I assume that since they are given here, and I give plenty of warning BEFORE posting the list, everybody is okay with it. If anyone prefers I not list some names, please let me know and I will gladly oblige.

I'm just happy I found the toque. Have a look:http://www.sportmart.ca/store/images/products/20GOTTOQUE_14.jpg

Hey everybody,
I like Studio Sea and the Promenade lounge for our group meet. With family with us, any earlier might be hard, but this works our great. We'll all be done with dinner by 10 so that works well. Thanks for being understanding about the smoke thing, I love to meet, but also like to breathe...

Dean, I got a perfect imaginary picture of you in that outfit of yours, WHAT A HOOT! You crazy mon...

Renae

Gary,
What a great idea! I hadn't thought what you meant until you put it in terms even I can understand! We won't be getting on till everyone else is, but I'll have them use Walt Jr. and auntrenae so you can know it's us! Love the idea!

On the Jessica McKlintoc (sp) dress, that term brought back loads of memories. I used to have some when they were still Gunne Sax, does anyone remember those? I gave them away a few years ago when it became clear that I would never see that size again, but it was hard to say goodbye to that style forever, I LOVED them! oh well...
Renae

Annette,
Welcome to our not so little family! We are a great group of crazies obsessed with speedos, good food, Capt. Marvin's, and the color Lime Green! You're sure to have a great time,
Renae

Sorry, this is the closest smilie I could find for a toque.

LOL!

*gets ready to sweep Kim off her feet...*

Oh wait...that's DH's job...yours, not mine!

Just got Kelsey a Pats t-shirt, and me a Pats "somewhat official" jersey, so we're good to go on Key West day!

For Dean,

I liked the toque photo you came up with however it is not what I would call a toque. My best description is this:
something knitted, form fitted to the head and it has a pom pom on top. (pom pom not a necessity but this is how I would describe one)
Do the other Canadians online agree?
I think toque is a french word for hat....

Annette

OK, I'm going to brag a little here, so bear with me... I can hear the Wishes fireworks from my craft room right here at home... ne ner ne ner ne ner...

Honest, guys, if you have any chance at all, you HAVE TO go to the MK to see them, they are so great they made me cry! There are rumors out there that they won't be around for long because they are so expensive so see them while you can. They tell a story in the sky while the fireworks are going on with music and narration. and I get to watch them from my LR window!! I love living here!!! BTW, it was 77 today! Yeah!!!

hey guys, emergecy here. I need to get ahold of Gary and Gail ASAp - my kids have gotten into some trouble in their area(they've slid off the road)!
Update: I did reach Gail, thanks!
Thanks!

Karyn

DEAN,
Your smilie with the toque is exactly how I would describe one!!
PERFECT Toque example!!!

See you next week!!!

Are you travelling with your family Dean?

Hi everyone! I am so ready to get out of this cold weather. We ( cap and I were out doing volunteer work this afternoon. Was it biting. I am with all of you about smoking. I just have to avoid all areas with smoke. Yuck.

Karen - You are a fast lady!

By the tome I found his number and started to dial yours, your edit flashed up. Is everyone OK? What happened?

I think my family is travelling with me. I don't plan on starting to embarrass both of them until we get to Florida. Then here I come,

Welcome, Annette, I'm new at the Disboards too. Won't it be great to meet everyone? Some friends we are traveling with don't use their computer. What would I do without it? My husband cap was laughing out loud from all the postings, I just had to join in! So, head thread, you aren't the only one that can welcome a new one!

We're almost there. Who will get post #1900?

PrincessAuroraInBlue, Be thankful you could find anything that remotely resembles summer wear. Here in the frozen north of MI most cruisewear isn't even out. So, I decided to get stuff in FL since we'll be in Naples, Marco and Boardwalk before we sail.
