Good luck!

Hi to all of you experienced cruisers and disboard members.
This is my first time reading and posting on this board.
I want to let you know that my family, myself (35) DH (39) DS (5years) and
DD (7years) are sailing with you on Jan 31...Magic Western Itinerary.
This will be our First Disney cruise however we have sailed more than 10 X on other cruise lines. Our most recent was in Feb 03 on the RCCL Explorer of the Seas. We have stayed in Disney many, many times...I do like how so many of you put your dates of your trips and where you stayed with your signatures. I would have to think back and figure them all out!
I know that I only have 12 days before we all leave but I would love the chance to get to know some of you too! You seem like a fun bunch of people and would be nice to make new friends!
My family is from Windsor Ontario Canada and we are flying from Detroit. We are staying at the Radisson Resort Port Canaveral on Friday night before sailing and then after the cruise we are spending an extra week at Disney World. This time at Grand Floridian (our first time there because of the excellent AT Par Canadian Specials this year!!) Last year we added on an extra week after our RCCL cruise and stayed at Wilderness Lodge.

I would love to hear from any of you!

WELCOME TO OUR GROUP, ANNETTE!!! It is so nice that you joined us. Annie and Randy are coming from Canada too, and, I have recently received an honorary citizenship in Canada, eh?

Please feel free to jump in anytime - it is a great group of fun people.

I'll be posting a complete list of all the DISer's next week. It is great to have you with us.

Dean

Darn it, Dean! You always beat mt to welcoming the new people!!! *pout, wimper* :(

As co-chairperson of this thread (Dean is the other one), I would like to welcome you to the 1/31/04 sailing of the Disney Magic!!!

We look forward to meeting you on-board and on-thread. Please feel welcome to post at any time and be sure to bring your sailing toques with you, eh?

Hey Dean, you hoser!!! Take off, eh?!?!?!

Randy, please supply the canadian translation to the above statement. Beauty.

HADD!!! :wave2:

Hoser, eh? Yeah, you betcha. You are just jealous, eh, of my photo. It's no wonder I'm Grumpy, eh? Somebody took my speedo.

Welcome Annette - named after a mousketeer? :wave2: I'm so jealous.

Cap - I hope my frozen, breaking, leaking pipes aren't making their way to you. Not that I want to keep them. Today's problems are mainly slip and falls because of icy parking lots. I'm relying on the fact that $6.95/minute phone calls will discourage shopping center owner and cranky tenants from trying to reach me for 7 glorious days. My water heater had a small amount of water underneath and we just had to tighten a very hard to reach valve (after we replaced the water heater).

Hi Everybody!

WOW!! this thread took off! I NEVER get 6 pages behind. Don't know what's keeping me busy!

Annette, Great to have you on board! Jump on in and join the fray! we're a little weird, but a very fun bunch of folk.

Gary, you won't need my DIS handle - you'll already know me!!! AND remember I'll be in an all lahm green outfit, too! One of us has to scoot over to the Palo reservations - I think I'll send my Randy, But I'd love to join you up there and greet people! You will have the hats the night before, right? What about dinner on Friday night? Would we have time for Boma? (yum!!!)

Jill got accepted at Stetson Univ. so if she can arrange an overnight there, we'll be coming in on Wednesday instead of Thursday, good thing I've got fully changeable tickets for Southwest!

I started packing . . as in, I have a suitcase open and I'm filling it for the cruise! It's so nice being ablt to talk about it openly now. I can't believe Jill never caught on!

Well, here's my problem, if I don't finish the house I can't come, so if I'm more silent than usual, please forgive me, I would far rather play!

Karyn

Hey, Princess, where are you today? Got Momma Karyn out buying new formal wear? Sure thought we'd hear more from you than we have, knowing how Mom is. Seems like we've been talking to, or about, you around here forever. It's about your turn. Not every one here is an alien life form, just some of us.

Welcome Annette! Better late than never. You have 125 pages to read to catch up LOL! I am just kidding. I think some have done it. My DH logged in for the first time a few days ago and he was overwhelmed by how many pages there were.

You still have lots of time to get to know us and we are meeting up at Studio Sea 3:00-3:30 on boarding day. And then at the Promenade Lounge at 10:00 that evening. Please join us!!

My DS, Luke, is 4-1/2. We are cruising with my sister's family too. Her DS is 5.

We like to cruise too! This is our second Disney cruise but we have been on other lines before this. We started with a cruise for our honeymoon 13 years ago and were hooked!

Thanks for joining in!

I am not sure what is meant by the wearing of a toque?? Is it a Canadian thing? Or am I missing something?
This sure sounds like a lively bunch...
I will have to get caught up on your names and such before we go next week!
I promise to spend hours tonight (Ha!) catching up on my reading of the previous threads...I promise to take notes and get to know all of you by name...
This sure is going to be a lot of fun! (EH??)

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I have EVERY intention of meeting you, your wonderful better half and the chip off the ol block the night before, so I'll know at least one family, right??

I am joining Nikki in the ranks of car bills right before vacation. Over the weekend, things started going haywire. Looks like the alternator -- the same alternator that was rebuilt 2 years ago (almost to the day). Now the decision 2 years ago, to spend only $200 and some dollars to rebuild the alternator instead of $400 and some to intall a new one, doesn't seem like it was such a good one. :(

Urgh...that stinks. Stupid car, doesn't it know you have BETTER things to spend your $$ on? *sigh*

Kim, whaddaya mean not everyone likes the Pats!

*sighs again*

OK guys, Kim doesn't want the "Honorary Pats Cheerleader Outfit" for Sunday night...

Wait! Annette has joined us, she can have it instead! *sticks tongue out @ Kim* Welcome Annette!!

*snicker*

I'm not really a Pats freak, I swear - I'm just trying to "feed" DS's interest so that he might want to try another sport sometime soon. Although he's nearly a black belt in karate and I would love to see him reach that goal...

Just got our luggage and Kelsey's Jessica McClintock emerald green long dress...satin, with a poufy skirt, and satin roses at the back. She looks too grown up. *sob* You KNOW she looks nice when she tried it on and her brother complimented her, usually he couldn't tell you what color her eyes are, let alone what she's wearing! *grin*

I am not sure what is meant by the wearing of a toque?? Is it a Canadian thing? Or am I missing something?

Toot - toot! NEWSFLASH
musik02.gif

See guys! I am not the only one who doesn't know what the heck a toque is. And, this nice lady lives there and I'm even an "honorary canuk" and neither of us knows!!

Kim, whaddaya mean not everyone likes the Pats!

It's not that I dislike the Pats, really I don't. But in writing up the stuff about the Steelers (excuse me, I mean Stillers), it reminded me of you mentioning how could anyone not like the Pats and I had a flashback to the 2002 AFC Championship game where the Pats beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

in that case...

*packs another set of pom-poms*

Did anyone else read that thread that asked if the Superbowl will be shown on board, because it's on CBS, which is not "Disney"...

Uh oh... *grin*

Nikki, I was re-reading my previous post and I think it was confusing. When I said "really I don't", I meant don't dislike. I don't hold grudges. The team we were rooting for (since we gave up on the Steelers half-way through the season) were the Rams. The Ram's QB, Marc Bulger, went to the same high school as DH, here in Pittsburgh (which is also Dan Marino's high school). For those of you that already know that, you may be sick of hearing it. I heard them refer to that quite a bit during pregame and half time shows. That is, the fact that Bulger went to Marino's high school, not the fact that Bulger went to DH's high school ;)

If I decide I like you Nikki, maybe I will root for the Pats ;) :smooth:
(I really am not obnoxious, really I am not.)

Dean, since you live in Tiny Town, SD, who supplies your internet access? Do you have to make a long distance call to connect? Inquiring minds want to know!

Gary-we have a cable modem DSL from our cable television supplier. Most of the time we are okay and have few problems. However, they just recently sold the service in town and as the new buyers "upgrade" to their system, a few glitches are occurring so you have to call and get their attention again.

okay Dean...I thought there was some freaky thing going on that all of the Canadians were going to wear toques! I am aware of what a toque is and I assure you that we will not be needing them on our cruise and will be leaving them behind here in the COLD NORTH!! However if you like I would be happy to bring you one as a souvenir!!??
This is going to be so much fun!!!
For your list that you are making would you like the rest of our families names?
Let me know and I will send it to you by private email.
Thanks again for the laugh!!

You know, this is a great time of year to be shopping for cruise "MUST HAVES" (i'm sure my mother's views on must haves are far different than mine- last time- between my cousin and i- we brought over 20 pairs of shoes!!) It's great cause they're starting to bring out spring clothes, everything's on clearance cause they overstocked for the holidays... I LOVE IT!! So, i went to the mall today, there was the "SEMI-ANNUAL SALE", a "BUY ONE GET TWO FREE", and a "BUY ONE GET ONE FOR $1"

I was so excited, i started wearing some sandals to break them in- i wore them to the mall and got stopped by a few friends who thought i was nuts for wearing summery sandals when there's three inches of snow and it's below freezing outside... Oh well, such is life!! I'm excited!! Can't we go THIS saturday?!?!

Oh, and by the way- you all write a lot! i can't keep up when i'm six or seven pages behind from one or two days!!
