20040131 ~ Cruising Jan 31 2004 Western Who's with us?

39 posts in one day! Mama Karyn is proud of all of you! This was such a fun day! I am so looking forward to meeting each of you in person! I'll be the one in Lime green, wearing a goofy lime green hat - grabbing you for a BIG hug on 1/31!
Boy, Karyn, we will need someone to take a picture of us when we finally meet. You, with your goofy lime green hat. Me, with the same goofy green hat, a lime green DIS t-shirt, and the best pair of lime green sneakers that anyone has ever seen. I'll look like a giant avacodo when I return your hug! :earseek:

Hey, Gary, are we still planning a big DIS meet on board? You had mentioned about 3:30 PM. This first time cruiser, and long time coward, doesn't want to miss the life boat drill. But still want to meet everybody. What say you?

It will be a long day working today before the holiday. We'll finish up around 9:30 tonite. Then, I'll take my girls out for a New Year's "boat drink" when we finish. So, I'm not ignoring you, just won't be able to reply today like I did yesterday. Have a great day!

Dean

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Dean, you're a good man! I'm gong to be in all lime green, too. Lime capris, lime t-shirt lime hat! Front of the line, look for me. No, I won't share my place in line! I claimed that months ago..

Ok boys and girls, can we keep the excitement building? It's already started a bit slower than yesterday.

Nikki, I was proud of seing Star Wars in the theater 13 times that summer! Wow, you must have been a very young thing back then - I was a year out of college. You all know how old I am so that's giving nothing away.

LOL! Well, let's see, it came out in...76?? Wait, someone check the IMDB!! I was born in 67, so if that's the case I was...NINE? No WAY! My European mom would never have let me see it alone with friends like I remember - my cousin from England took me the first time, and we had to sit way down in front, and the scene where they try to blow up the Death Star by flying thru that canyon...I remember feeling motion sickness...

I think Ive learned the key to kicking this flu's butt...ADVIL NON-STOP. I hurt and I'm home sick again today, but it's not like yesterday. Of course, now my DS is coughing and barking like a seal and sniffling....*sigh* I'm starting him on Advil immediately...

I think I'll watch the Travel Channel special again today, I could use a virtual cruise on a grey day like today!

Who's doing anything special for tomorrow night??

We're doing a full inventory on Friday so I will be busy today also, Dean.

OK, DIS meet! As I posted before, our DIS group on the last cruise met on Deck 4 outside Studio Sea. It's actually the balcony of the Atrium so it's a great place for a picture with lots of room. 3:30 P.M. is an hour before the boat drill and gives us time to get back to our rooms to put on our lovely, figure flatering life preservers! This plan worked well for us last time. I also like the soap bubble idea for the Sail-Away party! I will hand out hats at the 3:30 Meet so we should have no trouble finding each other at the sail-away.

I can hardly wait!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :hyper:

HADD!!! :wave2:

Nikki, Star Wars came out in 1977. The first time I saw it I was in the very front row of the Cinerama theater in Seattle. I think from then on I made the friends I took to it see it from the front. This is NOT an option w/ big action movies now cause it all becomes such a blur. (Especailly when you're old like me!)

I'm sorry you're feeling bad. And to anyone out there who does start coming down w/ this year's influenza - go to the MD immediately and get them to give you a scrip for Tamiflu - it really helps shorten the disease.

I'm worried about Randy, my cousin was supposed to fly here then drive across to Seattle with him - but she's just come down w/ the big flu herself. they have a big family and all fo them are getting it. I don't want Randy to a. drive across by himself or b. catch this nasty stuff. Hey Dean are you anywhere near I-90? Randy should be getting to SD about time for a night's sleep.

Please stay well everybody!

And make sure that you're diagnosed properly! *sigh* I found out yesterday that it's the flu, and that the urgent care doc just didn't think to prescribe this when I went in and was told I had "viral bronchitis"....

Oh well. At least I"m only missing 2 1/2 days at work this way, and the kids don't have to be home alone during their vacation at all!

Hi Everyone!!!
Sorry we haven't replied in a while! We still read the posts everyday though!

Kim-- Thanks for the rotation guide, but does anyone know the rotation if you have 16 year old kids? Do they consider them adults???

OKW-- Do you have some great packing list or what? I would love to see it because I always overpack!!!

Just so you know-- we haven't gotten our docs yet either!!! We will probably be last because our TA had some problems even though we booked this vacation last Jan!!! He said to expect them around Jan. 5th.

See you all real soon!!!

jedokids, we had a 16 and a 14 w/ us last year and got PLA. I really don't know if that's typical. Seems to me you'd get LAP. Either is good - actually it's all good! It's DCL and we're going to be a very happy bunch!

Cruises, I love cruises! Boat drinks all around!

Karyn

OK Team, I'll try to keep an informal schedule running for any team events. This is just a test to see how a cut and paste will work.

Disney Cruise Week of Jan 31, 2004

Sail-Away Party ?? (bring bubbles) Sat ?

What other things should I add?

OK - found out that tabs don't carryover to the post. Next try will be better.

OK Cap!!! Official Schedule Keeper!!!:goodvibes

I think the Sail Away Party is a go. Bubbles are optional but encouraged!

Just popping in to see what's happening today. A bit quieter than yesterday!. Karyn, we're about 40 miles south, and 20 miles west of Mitchell, SD which is right on I-90. We're really in the boonies.

Hey, Jedokids, nice to have you back. And, nice to see someone else is without documents! :D Keep in touch with us as we get closer to actually meeting everyone.

Unlike some others, we are looking forward to Mexacali nite. Don't get much in the way of Mexican food out here surrounded by buffalos.

Thanks for keeping track of things, Cap. With everything going on it would be easy to forget.

Back to the grindstone. See you later!

Dean

Isnt' that funny! Here just south of the New Hampshire border, 20 miles north of Boston, all the restaurants are mexican...within a 10 mile radius, we have 2 Chilis, On the Border, Rancho Des Amigos, Margaritas, Shorty's, La Hacienda, and one other in Nashua...Amigas or something like that. It's like the most popular of all cuisines I think, so we're sort of Mexican'ed out!

Speaking of buffalos, I was so upset when On the Border changed management style and got rid of the Buffallo Fajitas! *sigh* Now THAT was good....

Gee, I must be feeling a little better...I have a little bit of an appetite.

I just got off the phone with the Hat Guy. The price he quoted me was for the hats with the text silk screened on and the final price for that with tax is $8.54 a hat. I said they would be embroidered and that is my mistake. To have the hats embroidered would increase the price to $11.88 with tax. I have until Friday to change the order from silk screened to embroidered. I apologize if I have miss led anybody. I can't split the order. If everyone agrees to an upgrade, I'll call it in. If not, we'll go with the silk screen version.

Again, I'm sorry if this upsets anybody and it's my mistake, not the Hat Guy.

Gary, doesn't matter to me & I'll roll with the flow, either way. Thanks for the update and all of the work on this project.

Dean

Silk screened sounds just fine to us too! Thanks Gary!!

Note to self: send Gary a check!!!

no problem gary but instead of two blue hats and two green hats can we now have two green hats and two blue hats    do we send you a check or would it be better to pay you on the illuminations cruise

Gary,

I think you're going to be stuck making the decision on this one. I'm ok either way - embroidered or silk screened. If you'd let me get my docs then I would have been willing to call it, but I see you told the UPS man to just drive on past again today. He slowed down, but gunned the truck when I got up from my chair.

Guess who just came to my house!!! A verrry special guy in a nice brown truck - he got away before I could kiss him, tho! Eat you heart out, Dean!

Doing the doc dance!

I'm never gonna get 'em...NEVER I tells ya!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

There will be no living with you now! Well, just consider it my birthday present to you. But, don't expect anything more!!

Dean
