20040131 ~ Cruising Jan 31 2004 Western Who's with us?

Hey, that's pretty cool! I just checked the Mallory Square webcam on Dean's link and the Magic is there, all lit up. There's quite a bit of glare, but it's still kind of neat.

OK, Here it is! I will do it by DIS Board ID:

OKWMEMBER - 2 Adult, 1 Green, 1 Blue

Kabuli - 3 Adult, no color preference.

dheller97 - 3 Adult, 1 Green, 2 Blue PAID

CAP - 2 Adult, Blue PAID

kmc33 - 2 Adult, no color preference

Annie - 2 Adult, 1 Child, no color preference

Shingle - 4 Adult, Any color

Bonkinthesota 2 Adult Blue, 1 Adult Green, 1 Child Green

If I have your colors or counts wrong, PLEASE let me know. I know that we were trying to settle on one color at first but the Hat Guy said there is no problem with ordering two colors.

For those of you who are new to the group, I've arranged to get
bucket hats made for the group. The colors are Lime Green (to match the DIS t-shirts) and Carribean Blue. Here's a picture:

The text on the hats will be one of the following:

Magic Cruise
DIS 1/31/04

Magic DIS Cruise
January 31, 2004

It depends on which one fits the print area of the hat.

The hats should be around $9 a piece with adult and chilldren sizes. You DO NOT have to pay in advance. I know the holidays are coming. However, if you want to pat in advance, I will PM or e-mail you my mailing address. If the hats turn out to be less than $9 and you paid in advance, I will either refund the difference or buy you a Boat Drink!!!! How's THAT for a deal!

That's all for now!

HADD!!! :wave2:

Gary,

I will take one blue and one green for my colors. PM me your address and I will send you a check.

Thanks! :sunny:

Thanks Dean... that is so cool!! We are sitting in our den, chatting with Gary and Gail on MSN on Randy's computer, and on my computer we are watching the people on Duvall Street... we can hardly wait to get there!!!!

- Ann

Nice job on the hats, Gary! Thanks for all of your hard work.

Dean

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Gary, can you put me down for 4 adult blue, and PM your address to me so I can pay you? I'll surprise the family! *grin* After shovelling ALL DAY yesterday, just thinking about little surprises like this keeps me going...would you believe the snowdrifts here in downtown Boston are up to my armpits??

AUGH!

Hi Gary and of course all of my fellow ship mates. Gary I want to also thank you for taking care of the hats. I will send you a money order in the mail today. I wouldn't want you to be short around Christmas Time. Have a nice day everyone! Arrrggghhh! pirate: Randy

Thanks for all the kind words and you're all more than welcome!::yes:: I just hope everyone enjoys the hats and they help our group have fun together!!!:hyper:

I don't think I stated this in my last post but I'm cutting off hat orders on New Years Day. That will give the Hat Guy plenty of time to fill the order and time for me to post a picture of them before I/We leave for our adventure.pirate:

HADD!!! :wave2:

More snow!

Looks like it's our turn now. They are predicting 6-10" by Tuesday nite.

Oh, can't wait to get on the big ship trying one of Gary's umbrella drinks!:sunny:

Karyn,
I haven't had a chance to look yet, but I think the half day excursion will be all that I will do, there isn't enough sunscreen to
keep me unburned if I go all day, lol...
Guess what people, it got COLD in Orlando this week!!! It was only 39* here last night and we put blankets on the beds... I know that isn't much by northern standards, but hey, it's something to be happy about, now it feels a tiny bit like Christmas :hyper:
Happy December everyone,

Monique,
Hi and welcome to the group! I didn't know how big it was till I saw the list. I was on the Cruisetoberfest in Oct., and we had 120, so that was a blast! I'm sure you will have a good time in the guest cabins, they are big on the Magic, so it will be fun for you. This is our 4th Dis cruise, 3rd to the western, so we are excited to be able to go again so soon. I had no idea this was going to happen, but you never know with family, especially when you are a cast member. They love to use our discounts, and it looks like we will be going again with some that can't go this time, so we may as well book a cabin full time... :hyper: that's a nice fantasy anyway!:hyper:
Renae

THanks for the welcome, auntrenae! I'm married to a former cast member - my husband worked at the Magic Kingdom in high school - in Fantasy Land! Talk about a place to spend your high school after hours.... *grin*

We can't wait, we're anxiously awaiting our documents and/or our "vacation planning video" that we ordered before we decided to book, so we can really get excited!

Now that DD is emailing a few of the fellow cruisers, DS is feeling left out - any boys that might have an email to say hello to? Tyler is 9, he'll be 10 on 1/28...4th grade, and VERY excited about the cruise...

He also has a "safe" email address, so if there are any that might want to say hi, just PM me with the email address he should use, and I'll add that to his safe list!

:)

:bounce:

Monique,
I know what you mean about spending after school hours at the parks. My youngest son worked for Disney his senior year and spent a lot of time there. Now it is my DH and I and our middle son who are cast members, so date night hasn't been the same, I can tell you. We sure enjoy the perks! They don't pay much, but the perks make up for it big time! :Pinkbounc
It is a pain:crazy: waiting until 30 days out to book the cruise too, but it's worth it when the price is so low. It makes it so we can go much more often, and being so close by, it's not too horribly awful if we get bumped, but I sure hope we don't!!!
see ya real soon:wave: Renae

Wooooooooo-hooooooooooo!

8" of snow overnite and the snowplow guy was right on schedule. I got my driveway all snow blowed clean by 5 AM and at 5:01 he came down the highway and filled the end of it in hard-packed stuff. I swear those guys just sit a block away and wait for the first person to clear out and then see how quickly they can bury them again.

Have a great day everybody. Mine is off to a super start! Line up the umbrella drinks!!

Dean

So I'm being lazy and not searching through all the posts in the DCL forum...can someone who's done this before talk to me about the "formal" and "semi-formal" nights?

DH does not have a tux, and we probably don't want to rent one...would a nice dark suit be acceptable for the formal night? How "semi" is the "semi-formal" night - would the same suit work, with different shirts/ties perhaps...or a sports jacket, or maybe nice shirt/tie/pants type of outfit? And what about the kids - do they go to these, and if so, what's acceptable for them? DD is trying to talk me into a new fancy dress just for the occasion... *grin* and DS would rather NOT get all fancied up, and to be honest, at the rate they grow, I can't see spending $$$ for a suit for him!

I, on the other hand, plan on raiding my best friends closets for THEIR fancy gowns...funny how everyone else's clothes are always nicer than your own, huh? ;)

Our plow truck drivers must be related, Dean. Mine does the same thing! We got lucky this time and the snow missed us. :p It's just a matter of time, though. I know LES (Lake Effect Snow) is lurking out there somewhere!!!pirate: The scurvy dog!!!!

The4OfUs, (May we have your first name?) I just bring a suit for the Formal night and a sport coat for Semi-Formal night. The picture in Randy's (goofyaboutmicky7) signature is them on formal night and they were fine!

This link should help:

Monique :wave2: Or, if it's easier to remember, my family calls me Nikki for short...I answer to both...the only name I'm learning to block out is "Mom!!!!" ;)

I read someone describe it as formal night = what you'd wear to a nice wedding, and semi-formal night as what you'd wear to church...I can work with that! Thanks for the link, I'll go check it out!
