2004

me too that is why i asked, is there and event or something? and is there really a bad time to be there? if so i have not found it yet! hehehehe

I've often looked at 2004 as a break-out year for WDW with regard to new attractions. With Eisner's re-structuring plan running through 2003, it would seem that the parks would have their full share of revenue after that, which is what leads me to believe that more money will be re-cycled back to the parks. Of course, anything new opening in 2004 would have to be anounced sometime in late 2002 or early 2003. Next year(just a few months away)could be very telling in that regard.

ok, i did not know if there was a big thing gooing on like this year " walt's b day " or something like that, i hope disney gets their stuff together or wdw will be in bad shape

...as the Millennium ad campaign (October 1999 through December 2000) and the Walt Disney 100th Birthday ad campaign (October 2001 through December 2002), the scuttlebutt goes that there will an ad campaign based on the 100th anniversary of flight from October 2003 through December 2004. The intention is for that to tie into the opening of Mission:Space.

It seems to me that it is already too late to whip another E-ride into shape by 2004. Any further additions to the parks for that time frame would have to be in the BAH/spinner league.

It would be great if lrodk is right and more money will flow back to the parks, but I've seen no indication that Disney will be any better off financially by 2004. Personally, my feeling is that the Fox Family channel deal will end up being viewed as the rope with which Eisner finally hung himself. There are too many variables for me to guess the business plan of his successor with any accuracy (I'm praying for a _big_ broom, myself), so don't feel good about counting park improvements until they hatch....

i hope you are right about eisney, he has done to many things that are not what walt would have wanted, when walt created disney he made it so the family would go have fun and spend money, eisner has made it the money then fun and lastly family, he is putting to much pressure on making money and it is having the exact opposit effect, they need to clean house and put people in that believe in what disney was founded, and that is the family,a dn then the rest will follow.

Disney celebrating the 100th anniversary of flight? Not only are they late (the first manned plane flight took place in in 1890), but it also doesn't have anything to do with the company.
