Thank you so much! I can hardly wait until FH comes home tonight to start planning. I called him and he said we have to wait until tonight.

Thank you for the information. And I thought I was going to get some work done this morning. I don't have time for work. I have planning to do.:drinking1

Anyone know when the menu for each country will be announced & posted?

Mickeydad:wave2:

\o/ Looks like another great year!!

Although - since the L&L are in the Odessey restaurant this year, does that mean that you need park admission to go? Last year they were held at different restaurants, so it was nice for my parents to be able to go and not have park admission to pay for.

MickeyDad - Menus have never been posted for previous years - I honestly don't think that they will be posted this year either (Unless it's one of our posts during a "review" , after the dinner has been held). The Chefs probably haven't even started thinking about them yet....

Stitch79 - yes, park admission is required for the Lunch & Learns. The only in-park event that it's not required for is the Exquisite Evenings at Epcot.

Do they have non-alcohol stuff for kids,

or should I drop them off in one of the daycares (like Neverland club?)

Goldi

Goldilocks --- I've been to the "Party for the Senses", "Signature Dinner", "Lunch and Learn", "Food and WIne Pairings" -- and I personally wouldn't bring a child to any of those events ---furthermore - with the exception of one baby (HUGELY out of place at a signature dinner) and the VP of Epcot's older children at a "Party for the Senses" (they looked bored), I have not seen any children at any of these events. (I have a 4 yo who LOVES the Neverland club). While there are nonalcoholic choices available (water?)- these events pretty much revolve around the booze!

The "Party" is like a huge cocktail party, the "Signature Dinner" is an upscale dinner (where you will be seated at a table with others ) where wine is paired with every serving; The food and Wine pairings are exactly that (with every course, the chef explains the food, and the Vintner explains the wine and why they go so well together); and at the lunch and learn - you watch the chef prepare your meal - and the vintner also explains their wine pairings...... The only exception I would make might be an older child (say 12+) who is really interested in cooking - then I might consider the lunch and learn. You will have to pay adult prices for them - there are no children's menus or children's prices (I think that is a hint from Disney).

I like to think of it as a treat for the adults - Lord knows I spend enough of my vacation on Dumbo to deserve it!

Has anyone been to a Lunch and Learn with Alan Wong? I love Hawaiian cuisine, just not the fish part of it - FH and I don't like seafood. I was wondering how much seafood was included, and I'm afraid it might be a lot, looking at the menu of his restaurant in Hawaii.

goldilocks--definately drop the kids at daycare...the special food/wine events are no place for children.

forever42..there is no way to tell what the menu will be for the lunch/learns..you would have to be taking a chance on the fish.

What do people tend to wear to the "Party for the Senses?" Is it dressy? You'd think for $95 a person, it would be a bit dressy, but it is held in a theme park, so you never know.

Oh, I know, I was just hoping someone had been to one of his Lunch and Learns in the past to give me some kind of an idea.

Offically it is called "Resort Casual". No tank tops or shorts.

In terms of dress when we went in 2002 a lot of people were dressed in what many Disney restaurants consider resort casual. Many were in shorts (nice khaki type with belts - not cut-offs or sport type shorts) with button down or collared polo shirts and loafers or other comparable shoes just as we saw this June at the California Grill. The night we went no one was dressed in suits or cocktail dresses.

I am not sure if this has changed and am interested in finding out since we will be attending this year.

thank you!! I too will be planning tonight with DH. What about the dessert event? We are definitely doing Party for the Senses, but I LOVE SWEETS! Is it worth it?

Thanks! I was wondering about the dress for Party for The Senses too. Maybe I will bring a sun dress.

Don't forget that some evenings it can get a little cooler here in Orlando, especially in late October and November!

I thought I read on another board that they had kids activities during this as well. Is this true?

No kid activities, this is really for you grown-ups. Have a nice night out! Bring them to Neverland!!
