We went to the open house during our Christmas trip and dh is SOLD! We only have a couple small loans to pay off and other than house, car, and student loan (which we'll always have:rolleyes: ) we'll be almost debt free. Our reward? More debt! LOL!! But we figure this is "good" debt and in the long run will be well worth it. The only downside is we may miss out on BCV, which is what we'd really like. Either way Saratoga Springs isn't too far behind, so we can always jump on that train!

Zanesmama- Sounds like a plan! Try not to make the mistake we did; we toured the BWV in 1997, fell in love, and decided to join as soon as we paid a few things off. One thing led to another, and it was 5 long years before we got around to doing it. Not a big deal, but we can't help thinking that we wish we had done is sooner. It could have been paid off by now, and how many fabulous trips would we have had in the last 5 years??

Now we happily own at BCV, we stayed there and loved it in October. Hope to see you at Home soon!

Yikes! That's a good point, but what we have to pay off, our tax refund will cover, so we're footloose early in 2003.

DH (who's an undercover cop) has been working a ton of overtime, so we can throw that down for our down payment and still not touch our "regular" savings. The only bad thing is every time we talk about it, our initial point purchase rises! :)

Hope to be welcoming you home real soon!!

If you really want to buy into BCV's ( our home ) it's great. You could think about a home equity loan ( a much lower interest rate ) and then use the money to pay that off quicker. Just a thought so you can enjoy the Beach Club Villa's. Either way you go SS or BCV's we all hope to see you in the neighborhood soon.

The only reason we aren't going the home equity route is our house is so new we don't have much equity yet, and we don't want to wait until we build enough to borrow against...that could take awhile.

I understand the pont increase issue real well. We purchased, then added on at our first visit. You will enjoy whatever resort you buy into. You can also buy a resale at the resorts where Disney is not selling. Looking forward to welcoming you home later this year.
