When I called MS 2 weeks ago on when 2002 cruise points would be available, they said in Feb. Just called today and now they're saying in a month or two. Hmm!! I was really hoping to go next Feb. and would like to book 11 months out. Plus, if the points do go up a lot, I may go at the end of 2000. Gee, how do you plan for this? Any idea how much they usually raise the points? Oh, MS did tell me that I could go ahead and book for Feb. 2002 without the actual points being announced. Eeks, what if I didn't have enought points, then what??

If you find you do not have enough points for your cruise you can do one of two things. You can borrow from the next use year's points or you can pay points for the first adult and cash for the 2nd, etc.. On my last cruise I used points for two adults and cash for one child. The points for the 7 day cruise did increase for 2001, but I do not recall by how much. If you book less than 11 months out with points, it should not present too much of a problem. You are still booking far enough ahead so that you should have an excellent choice of staterooms to choose from.

Thanks for the info Carol, but I would already be borrowing points for 2 adults, playing cash for 2 kids with only 10 points leftover. So I the points go up more than that, then what happens. I guess I could pay cash for another adult, but then I may as well try for a "special" cash deal for everyone.
