Real - or artificial?

And if it's artificial, is it green - or some other color?

We have a green artificial tree at DD's..

9 foot artificial. It's beautiful when decorated, but I hate climbing a ladder to decorate it :headache:

It's traditional green:thumbsup2

We have 3 - one real one we go cut down for the living room, and one fake for the Family Room and one fake for the basement.

Real! We had fake the first 22 Christmases of my life, then we FINALLY got a real tree my senior year of college-I was crazy excited to get it. :cool1: :cool1:

It's been a long time since I've put a tree up. I really need to do it this year though since DS was asking about one. As a kid, we always had a real tree--scotch pine. :snooty: :snooty: That's us sniffing the air. :teeth:

When will you get it? Do you cut your own?

We have an artificial green tree. We used to have a real one, but quite a few of our ornaments are just too heavy and pull the branches down too much.

We have an artificial tree and I really love it! It looks like it was freshly cut from some forest because it's got little pinecones and berry things all in its branches... so it's KINDA like having a real tree....:rotfl:

Fake 7ft green tree. Our allergies don't allow for a real tree-doctors orders for ds11. I saw a black one the other day, and it was gorgeous! And I'm looking for a small pink one for dd9's room.

We have the world's most pathetic artificial tree. We are a demented household that loves the Charlie Brown X-mas special and it's sad little tree and hates the idea of tossing a perfectly pathetic, er I mean OK hand me down tree in a landfill. Our family mocks us every year. It is one of our traditions. :hippie:

We had real ones when I was tiny and then my parents got a fake one... :sad2:

So, from the time I was on my own on until just last year we've always had real. Last year I gave in and bought a pre-lit artificial tree from target as I'm tired of lugging in and out the tree with all the skin sticking needles (I'm the only one I trust to wire the tree :rotfl:) So fake it is :thumbsup2 Odd thing is the thing seems to have a mind of it's own on what section of the tree it wants to have lit and when. Called CS and all they said was "it must be a bad bulb... check them all" ROTFL... yea, that defeats the point of having a pre-lit (besides the lights won't come out of their sockets)

Not sure we're setting our up this year... we'll be in FL over Christmas...
thinking yea... not worried about a fake one catching fire or falling over while we're gone

Too bad you're so far away.. I have a pinkish/very light purple-ish Disney tree (put it up one year for my DGD when my late DH & I were still living in our own home) that's just sitting in a box in my DD's attic - lights, decorations, and all.. :(

Growing up we had a fake tree - it was decent size but you could still tell it was fake (it was the 70s after all) Once I got on my own me and DH always had to have a real tree and I started always getting a blue spruce (love, love, love those trees - besides having skin allergies to it - I still loved the way the looked) But 2 years ago after Christmas I found a great deal on a 7.5 ft fake tree ($50) @ Home Depot. Last year was the first year putting it up and and it is beautiful.

Thankfully I don't have to worry about buying a real one anymore and the mess it makes. I also like being able to put it up whenever and not having to plan out the weekend I go get it so that it doesn't die before Christmas rolls around.

Probably after i get home from Vegas (12/16) although maybe earlier as my mom's not going away this year. We pick ours out in a lot.

Try big lots. I know they have a big pink tree there. My dd#2 wants it.

We have a fake one but its too small for our living room. So we've gotten fresh for the past 2 years. We'll get fresh again this year.

Fake and green. It's an inexpensive one but it is decent and looks reasonably real without dropping needles all over my house.

My best friend has to have a noble every year (and pays through the nose for it). Her family has a neat tradition, though. The Sunday after Thanksgiving they get together and have breakfast, then go to the tree farm together and get their trees, and have a tailgate party for lunch. :)

Always --- always a real tree. We try to find a tree that is anywhere between 12 and 15 feet. (I would get taller if I had a bigger ladder). We go to a Christmas tree farm and cut it down ourselves.

We have always had a real tree, both when I was growing up and in my own household. Now my environmentally minded DD24 wants us to get a live tree in a pot, and plant it somewhere after Christmas (My parents did this one year when I was little). Problem is, we don't have anywhere good in our yard for that. Plus, it's spendy. Admirable, but I think we'll be getting a cut tree.

Artificial and green.
This is only the 3rd year with a fake tree, before we always had a live one. John convinced me to get a fake tree, by telling me I could decorate much earlier then what I could with a live one. :thumbsup2
So now I decorate Thanksgiving night, but I may start even earlier this year. :rolleyes1

I'm going to ask ds's allergist about this. I remember reading an article about real trees and allergies last year and when I mentioned it to dh he just brushed it off. My ds has seasonal allergies and asthma and has never been bothered by our real tree but I don't want to risk it.
