Went to bring my bill current at the All Stars Music Resort tonight and the desk clerk said good thing I didn't wait until morning because they are expecting 2000 cheerleaders to check in at this hotel alone. When we checked in last week, there were quite a few teams here too, but they all seemed to have left around Monday night. There were no problems that I was aware of; all were very well mannered and you didn't really notice them except for their uniforms. No noise problems that I heard. Don't know how many are expected at the other All Stars. Many international teams; saw two teams from China, at least one from UK, and some from S. America. Saw several tour groups in the parks, but they too, seemed well behaved. No yelling, chanting, cutting line, etc.

2000 cheerleaders is nothing. There will be over 20,000 cheerleaders, plus their families in Atlanta next weekend. We will be among them, and trust me it's an experience! There are several big competitions going on this month.

Fiancee is a cheerleading coach. She makes sure her athletes stay well mannered and respectful no matter where they go, but especially at Disney. She can't stand when athletes are disrespectful of other people's vacations in the parks. Summit should be interesting.

Edit: We were also supposed to be in Atlanta the coming week, but had to pass due to our wedding planning session in Disney. I support my fiancee 100% for her passion, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't breathe a sigh of relief...one less competition.

Yes, it was last year but not nearly as bad as worlds. There was horrible over crowding which lead to some unsafe situations with crowds and athletes performing outside on wet floors. There were a lot of people very angry. The new cheer venue at Wide World of Sports will help.

I think cheerleaders get a bad rap because of a few coaches unwilling to control their kids. For the most part they are good kids with responsible coaches who hold them to a higher standard. DD's coach doesn't tolerate bad behavior. You represent their gym and their brand while at these events.

Convention business is par for the course at all stars...

If you want to avoid that...plenty of good rooms available at wilderness lodge ;)

CHEERSPORT is always a fun time. Our gym has 28 teams (not counting half season). Half of our teams are going to Cheersport, the other half NCA Dallas. A few teams are attending both. ; ) Have fun. Skip the merchandise, I am sitting here in my faded cheersport shirt from last year. I threw out the popular sweatshirt already due to fading. I am over cheer merchandise because they always shrink or fade.

There is an old disney Joke that has always stuck with me a CM posted online once.

How many tourists is too many tourists?
A Brazilian

It just occurred to me the horrible possibility of a large Brazilian cheerleading group.

I believe that is what Hieronymus Bosch was channeling when he painted the Garden of Earthly Delights.

DD has been cheering for 5 years. We have a LOT of comp tees. I agree about the fading.

We are a small gym. 8 teams over 2 locations so they force us into D1. We love cheersport for the experience. Our kids get exposed to what is out there as far as talent, choreography, ect beyond our little corner of the world.

This is exactly why we switched resorts this year. We used to stay at All Star resorts but last year was AWFUL. The cheerleaders were so loud. I'm not talking about the cheering practice (although counting/chanting 1-8 is still stuck in my head). They would have their music blaring and a few were using some inappropriate choice words when we were walking ahead of them toward our room. I gave them my best "mom look" since I had my 2 DD with me (7, 3) and did not appreciate the language. I was also 6 months pregnant and we had scheduled breaks for naps during the day and they made it almost impossible to sleep.

If you HAVE to be at an all star resort during such times, I'd highly recommend requesting a room away from the main areas. Yes it would be a little longer walk but it would be much quieter...I think...we didn't try that but after leaving I thought we probably should have tried.

We tried this one time, at a moderate resort. No tour groups or cheerleaders The noise form just people coming and going, using the pool ectl was overwhelming. No sleeping happened.

I hate when I'm trying to use the poo and cheerleaders are chanting. ;)

What you experienced last weekend were dance teams, not cheerleaders. I was there with our high school team, and yes most left Monday.
Dancers routines, by their nature, don't require a lot of loud vocalizations. Much more peaceful to be around :)

First time going to Cheersport this week. Thank you for the tip on the shirts. This will be our first trip to the Summit just paid it off today... we belong to a D1 gym and the owner holds the girls to a very high standard which I love. Right now the gym has 4 Summit Bids and 2 World Bids. Looking forward to see how they do at Cheersport since it will be there biggest Competition of the year so far.
